Really simple game, but it works great : it's original and funny — the combo mechanic around the limitation is a nice touch.
The balance leading up to the game over feels really well-tuned; it would be a nice addition if we could restart (for example, by holding the right click).
Some chill coffee-style background music would also be a great bonus.
I think the levels seem a bit shuffled — not sure if it’s intentional, but I got the tutorial and then a level I had already played.
Just a suggestion: maybe let the player use the scroll wheel to control the coffee’s rotation size.

Thanks for playing the game!

Indeed, currently the progression through levels is pretty simplistic. If you lose, the current level restarts. If you win a level, you advance to the next level. If you win the last level, you restart with the first level (the tutorial). Could it be that you already cycled through all levels? There's 4 in total, including the tutorial.

Adding chill background music and being able to change the coffee's rotation size are great ideas!

Oh yeah, i did 4 levels for sure, it was a great moment, congratz again!

Nice fun little game and very nice art! I'm a big fun of slingshot mechanics and this kind of delivers. I wish sometimes it was a bit more forgiving (some kind of loose auto-aim when you're generally shooting in the right direction). I noticed quite late that the spinning radius changes depending on where you "caught" the mouse, quite interesting.

One suggestion I have is that 'game over' sfx is a bit coarse to the ear, especially since players will hear it very often. I'd recommend either removing it completely or changing it to something slightly more melodic. But it's a nitpick!

Finally got it!

I did almost rage quit when it detected I lost while rotating around the top right coffee (while I did reach the mat...) though 😅.

And of course I couldn't comment without saying how much I really like the art, well done!

Developer

Aw thanks! Good job on getting the last level that we couldn't even finish ourselves (in the beginning)! :D

wow what an incredible fun little game. satisfying sounds and mechanics. And I also like the look!

Developer

Thanks for the compliments!

This definitely the most satisfying game I have played so far. Really great solid foundation of a game and interesting mechanics. I am probably not doing it right, but sometimes when i clicked on the circle the line for where it spins wouldn't appear? Regardless had a blast and great visuals

Developer

Thanks for playing the game! Do you mean the circle wouldn't appear when clicking on the coffee mug? It's good to know that we calculate the rotation circle even before the mouse enter the coffee mug's "rotation zone". This does not change when clicking and holding, so the following scenario is possible:

  • A mouse is moving in the direction of a coffee mug
  • You click and hold that coffee mug
  • A rotation circle is calculated
  • The mouse hits an object (like the little colored candies) while you're still holding the coffee mug
  • The mouse gets close to the coffee mug, but will never hit your rotation circle since that circle is only calculated once

Could that be the scenario that you ended up in? As a player you can release the coffee mug and click & hold it again to fix that issue. Although, it would be a nice improvement for the game as well to recalculate the potential rotation circle (i.e. that calculated rotation circle before the mouse hits it) frequently.

These are some quality hand-crafted visuals. I love the design. the game feels very smooth to run, and satisfying to play.

Messing around with physics is never easy, but I think you guys pulled it off nicely!

Thanks for playing the game! :D

It took me a moment to get the gaining speed element but it is really cool ! A plus as a coffee enjoyer !

Developer

Thanks! We planned on adding a sound effect that would increase its pitch while spinning, but we didn't find the time anymore unfortunately.

I liked a lot the fact that the mouse gained speed if you held your click longer. A bit tricky and frustrating sometimes but interesting game overall

Thanks. As dev, it becomes hard to judge how hard the game is after a while :)
