All good, it was kind of funny XDD

Pretty cool submission, kudos to you guys for making a playable area so big! Took me a while to explore it and I don't think I even reached a full end.. couple of AIs gathered by the door and blocked my path haha.

It's also very thematic so well done on the art style!

I ended up playing for a bit with bots - after observing them for a while and fiddling with it myself, I may have understood partially how to play... so the key idea is to stack enough tiles to roll for a special but sometimes it damaged the bots, sometimes it didn't. I also observed bots taking over more territory - is there merit to that? I could also put tiles on top of other players' tiles, does that effectively block them? I have so many questions but I believe it's a good sign lol. There's something weirdly addicting about placing tiles, watching them stack and blow up. I feel like if you elaborate a bit more on mechanics in the game description that'd be helpful (like how there's two dice - one for stacking and one for attacks, I was surprised when I saw the second dice). Very nice submission!

Also, please change "Join : .." text to be more like "Join: Large Room" or something, I thought I was picking a player size or something haha

Pretty fun game to play once you've understood the mechanics! Those destructions are very satisfying haha, you guys got that right. I don't think you can die but I pretended that I could and honestly I quite like the hectic fun of dodging while rolling the dice to get the right spell. The only think that was a bit confusing to me is that I wasn't sure exactly how the power of the spell affected the outcome.. Regardless, very well done!

Game isn't loading for me, tried Chrome and Safair

A pretty clever concept, I quite enjoyed it! I am not sure if I completed the level but I gave it a fair shot haha. This is a great example of a great proof of concept that can be taken further. My worry is that some of player agency is taken away sometimes because they need to idle quite a bit before getting the dice length they need. Maybe you always get a certain length by default and then mid-air you can reroll for a longer/shorter double jump?

Anyways, great submission!

Thanks for the feedback! If you check the credits, you'll see it took a lot of folks working in parallel to get it all done! I definitely worked that producer muscle this jam XD

I'm glad you enjoyed it and yess - variety in enemies, more cards and better AI are already on the list!

Thank you so much! The team did indeed put a lot of effort in it so I'm glad you enjoyed it!

And yess, valid point, I'll be adding more cards so it's a bit more clear what we were going for. We have so much art we're yet to use XD

Thanks for playing! We interpreted limitation as "randomness" and the cards that you get to pick from are supposed to be random. But I can see how it might not be that obvious!

Thanks for the feedback - the game mechanics planned were a bit beyond the scope of what we actually had time for, but something I am excited to tinker with and improve in the coming weeks. And the praise for the art and audio is well deserved - they did indeed do an amazing job!

Thank you so much for finishing the game and for your feedback! All valid points, the game is a bit hectic to play right now, something we'll iron out in the coming days :) That '1' button was really meant to be the ability bar with more than just one summon haha

Hey there, thanks for actually beating the game, I know the gameplay is a bit rough around the edges! Thanks for calling out the art and VA, they've done an amazing job indeed!

I'm surprised you didn't see connection to the theme and limitation, I suppose it can be clearer... it connects to Creation theme since you play as a storyteller that tells/writes stories and it connects to limitation with the bonus legends which are supposed to be random. "Supposed to be" since we have 8 but I only had time to implement the 3. That's why they're all the same each time XD

All valid concerns for the gameplay - I'm planning to fix some of the pacing issues and fix the pop up menu so it's not that easy to accidentally choose a legend there. Thanks again for all the feedback!

Ah I see! I was looking for a speed in the bottom left corner. I remember hitting an encounter that increases the speed and I noticed it flicker to 11% and then back to 10%.

I didn’t know about engine upgrades impacting the speed. Maybe I didn’t read the instructions as carefully XD makes sense!

Congrats on finishing your first game! I'd love to play it but I'm on a Mac so the browser version would work best for me.

Have you figured out how to publish to web yet? If yes, you should be able to upload the web version no problem as long as you keep the original jam submission accessible. And if not, let me know if you need help :)

Great work! It felt quite satisfying to use the mouse to control a bullet! I noticed sometimes it was a bit easy to avoid obstacles but otherwise pretty cool stuff!

Fun idea! I like the combination of an endless runner and shooter.. I ended up falling into the pits quite often as they were pretty unforgiving haha

Great game and well done!

Great submission! Well done on assembling the whole package, the art and the encounters look pretty neat. I ended up crashing a lot, even after training my pilot couple of times haha.. I also noticed that speed increase/decrease left the speed number unchanged so I wasn't sure how I was supposed to approach the speed of light. Otherwise, a pretty nice experience!

Really clever concept, I ended up playing for quite some time! Took a bit to get a hang of it but a quick tutorial would solve this issue. I really enjoyed it :)

I wasn't sure if the shop in-between stages was how I was populating my "deck" for the next battle or whether it was just adding more actions to the pool of abilities?

Amazing work!

Great submission! The game looks veeery pretty, well done there!

I think the concept has potential, but unfortunately in my session the time was not counting down.. It was just frozen in place. Still, I think it's a cool idea and you can experiment quite a bit there - time pressure reminds me of time attack modes in racing games and Risk of Rain.

Also since we're playing as a mage I was kind of hoping for more ranged attacks, I ended up kiting enemies around a lot because I could only really do a melee attack and move. I used the controller but the special ability didn't seem to be working?.. Not sure what happened there. I played on web.

Good job!

Nice work on this one! Almost feels like using telekinetic powers to fight zombies. I kind of enjoyed blocking the entrances with objects. I noticed some zombies got stuck on the corners - I think you could benefit from a simple route system where an AI can follow a sequence of points first, then switch their behaviour to just following their target.

Thanks! Very valid points.

Gotcha!

Haha, thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing and let me know what can be improved!

Omg what a fun and polished game. The gameplay loop felt quite satisfying. It feels like a mix between crazy taxi and an old PSP game called Pursuit Force which actually have a mission with a bus that's almost identical in nature. Really well done!

Really great job on making you feel like you're going fast! I really enjoyed this game, breaking the stop signs felt satisfying. It also made me laugh that the stick figure will just stop and loop around the stop sign haha

Some notes:

  • I noticed sometimes using left click made me pass the stop sign instead of destroying it
  • Left click didn't always work properly to destroy a sign
  • After couple of deaths the game entered a buggy state where I couldn't see the character and stop signs appeared endlessly. But that can be fixed with the page reload

Amazing work!

Really great submission, daily life is a struggle and it seems like you really captured it haha

I discovered the block a bit late but then I was able to beat the first loop! It seems that attack patterns are slightly varied which is nice. Amazing presentation and music - well done!

Well done on making it to the end of the jam!

Wasn't sure what the game was really about since I don't know the language, but I guess this counts as an endless driving. I was surprised when I reached a second level with a different lighting but I wasn't sure where to go.

If you want to focus on the endless driving, you could add various obstacles and other things to the experience to turn this into a game.

Great vibes with this one, well done!

I wasn't sure what the objective was.. I initially thought that you never end up delivering that one singular box and it made me chuckle, but looks like there is actually an end? Car controls were a bit tough to get used to and I would recommend restraining the camera movement more because the wobble made me a bit motion sick.

If it was a game about endlessly delivering a box, then it'd play great on subverting the expectation and you could make the driving itself the core gameplay experience.

Great submission!

I really liked the concept, although it became clear to me only after reading the use of limitation. Great job on the art and audio! There's something quite somber about endless dating for the immortal, I could see some really interesting character development there.

I wasn't sure in the beginning who I was but it became clearer as I began rejecting lol.. Gifts didn't always work somehow, wasn't sure what the condition was for them. Also, I wasn't sure what was the conversation path for allowing me to invite them.

Well done!

Nice jam submission, I really like the artstyle!

A cool play on on-rails space shooters. I'd recommend tweaking the difficulty a bit since I managed to stay in one spot and it felt like both the obstacles and other ships were always somewhere else. The gameplay also gave me a bit of a headache unfortunately (I think due to mild motion sickness from moving around the column). I'd recommend trying out a vertical perspective instead, but I might be an edge case.

Oh! Yeah I wasn't sure after a while and so I just ended up trying to survive on one life only lol

Great work!

I still enjoyed the game and I like the concept quite a lot so well done!

Ok, I went back again and I managed to beat the first level PHEW haha. I am not sure if I have enough patience for level 2 but great work !

I see now, I think it makes sense. Honestly though, that didn't take away from experience at all and I suppose you could come up with many ways to explain it / hint on it better in the game. The core mechanics are really fun already :)

I know!

(1 edit)

Glad you enjoyed the game and thanks for playing! Yeah there are a few other features which could potentially make the experience a bit more cohesive here but since they're missing I understand how it might feel a bit off. Still, I find there is something special about not having full control over a mouse like you're used to and perhaps a different mechanic could bring that out better!

Thanks for playing and yeah that was the intended experience! Glad you liked it and I'll try to add a bit more stuff here

Thanks - and yeah, I overestimated my ability for this jam for sure haha!
