Awesome game. Gave Little Kitty Big City vibes. Very fun and engaging and nice visual style.
Wished I could move the mouse around to rotate the view, but enjoyed it nonetheless. Great work.
Love the visual style! Always find it crazy how people can make a 3D game in such a short amount of time. I honestly couldn't beat level 1 but I think that's a me problem more than the game!
Thank you Aaron ! I really wanted a contrasty 2D/3D aspect from the begining, i'm happy you liked it :)
As for the 3D aspect of the game, i guess it's thanks to the team having definied roles (The lead was the coder, etc) and i was almost fully commited to the 3D modeling & Level design of it (appart from i'll say 10% of 2D/3D shader work & team helping)
The first level is pretty straight forward, you simply get some dust, and give it to the Vacuum to Overload it 😊
Unfortunately I was having some serious lag while trying to play. Having a downloadable version would've helped tbh. I wasn't able to beat the second level since precise jumps and movement were kind of impossible to pull off because of this.
That aside, I think the game is pretty cool though. The actual concept itself is charming and the art style is nice and comfy. However, I'm not really a fan of the camera. By itself, it's not that much of an issue ( even though I think it's movement could be a little smoother ). What really made it an issue was the level design.
This was prevalent moreso in the second level of the game because of how big it was. It was a little hard to see where I could go and which parts of the level were actually reachable, mostly because I just couldn't see parts of the level. I think pulling the camera back a bit ( atleast only in this level ) would've helped
None the less, what's currently here is still pretty interesting overall. Kudos to the entire team.
Thank you ! I'm happy you liked the mood i created for the environemnt.
For performance issue, I'll suggest you to use a chromium based browser if you're not using one already (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, ...) as non-chromium browsers like Firefox struggle alot with webgl games sadly.
You're right on the build aspect, i used as much time as i could and finished the 2nd level 15min away from the deadline, i'll make one if you're still interested in giving the game a second try :)
Just added a windows downloadable build on the game page, thanks again for your comment 🙏
The camera could get some improvements because it is kinda sickening, and I dont understand why the difference between the in-game dust bunny and the title one. Other than that the core loop is fine.
I loved the 2D character sprite set against the low-poly 3D environment! The character’s hand-drawn art style really resonated with me, it reminded me of the style we tried to achieve in our own game, so it instantly clicked with me. I also really enjoyed the overall concept of the game.
Really creative work! The dust bunny is very cute.
The fixed camera angle did make it difficult to run away from the hoovers, I got caught on the chairs a lot.
I'm not sure if there was a third level, I defeated two hoovers and the level didn't end.
I had fun, good work!
Nice game. Would be better if you can control the camera. Lose many time because I can't make a jump since the camera is fixed and the jump feel weird because of it.
art and sounds and levels are so nice, wholesome vibes :)
Thank you Jesse ! :')
So when I played initially I didn't really understand what I was meant to do, I thought I was meant to get to 100% size. It was only after reading some of the comments here when I came to rate it that I realised you were meant to feed the cleaners
After going back and playing it properly:
- love the art style
- love the thumbnail
- love the sound you make when you jump
But the camera made me feel sick
Overall, very good
It's a good game though I could not understand the limitation.
A cute 3D platformer with some nice levels, I cheated a bit and used the walls to infinitely jump to get me into hard to reach places haha, it would’ve been nice if I could use the mouse to look around but aside from that nice game :)
Thank you Murgn ! Glad you enjoyed the levels :)
I did like the presentation of the game and I liked the concept of overloading the vacuum cleaners with your own dust. However, I did find it relatively hard to see behind me because of the camera positioning. There was one level with a vacuum cleaner that was completely out of sight and I didn't know where exactly to go (It was the second level). I had to use a wall glitch to advance to the next level (The vacuum cleaners can vacuum through walls. I also found another bug where you can jump up/off walls if you press into them just right). Overall, I feel like this game would've been better as a 2D top down game, since that would allow you to see where you are going better, and it would also possibly put you in more danger, emphasizing the concept that "nothing lasts forever". That's just my opinion, but I think the game's presentation and concept is sweet. Good job!
Thank you for that honest feedback 🙏
i love the design of the room, it looks so comfy to live in
Thanks ! My idea was to make you feel at home ^^
I wanted to model even more stuff laying around, but time played against it, i'm happy you like my design ! 🙏
I really like the idea, the rabbit is super adorable, it reminds me of the dust bunnies from Ghibli. I would have liked to have control over the camera to see where I'm going. The sound of the rabbit jumping is great!
Thank you Marina 🙏
Yes the soot sprites from Chihiro were one of our reference, i'm sure Nora who did the drawings will be happy to know you liked her design !
Solid game super cute character and great choice of music. Everything looked and moved great but I found it a little intense when you were on the ground and all the chill vibes went away.
Thank you Rico, yes Altifox team did a great job on the audio for sure !
Regarding the grounded / nested feeling you're having, that's kind of intented that you feel danger from the Vacuum as you're a dust bunny, did you had something else in mind for the grounded part ?
maybe some more low safe areas you can retreat to or a slower more chill but still persistent vacuum it just ramped up fast.
Cute game, with good music, art, sounds, colors. But the camera was a little bit confusing.
That was great, I really liked the level design and also the audiovisual side. Dusty is very cute as well. The only problem I had was that the tilting camera made it tricky to navigate.
Thank you 🙏
Even tho i kinda rushed the second level on the last 4hours to have a bit of content (would've happily had 10hours more to get something more polished) i'm happy you like the LD !
