Nice one! I'm a slow typer :'(

Developer

Sad. You are not alone though!

Awesome gameplay. Very addictive for word game enthusiasts. And nice implementation of the theme and limitation. Maybe you can also change the word if the player doesn't type the word within a time limit.

Developer

Oh! Great idea. Imagine the word you see on top of the screen is starting to fade away from top of it to down of it slowly, if you know what I mean?

Submitted

Nice idea, but I think that might be a problem for players with weaker eye-sight if you reduce the visibility of a letter they need to type.
A simple timer bar next to the word is the simplest solution but might not match your aesthetics. It can have an hourglass visual though.
You can add a gradually increasing cracking shader effect over the letters by adding a texture to them maybe. The letters crack into pieces and then destroyed after the time limit is over and then a new word is shown. You can show the color changes of the typed letters even with the cracks.
Or maybe an easier approach would be to show an eraser moving towards the word from the left side of the screen, when it reaches the word a quick erase animation is shown. If word is typed before it reaches, eraser returns to the left side of the screen and starts moving again towards the new word.

What do you think?

We, GAFDEV, is consisting of two people.
One of us a game designer and the other one is a developer.
I am a game designer and I love when developers I work in the industry came up with such ideas!
Those are great ideas. We should collab one day! ⭐

Submitted

Yeah sure. Would love to collab. Hit me up on discord whenever - @kidchaos999
I'm a game designer too actually. I dabble in Unity a lot so that I can prototype game ideas and game systems I come up with. Sometime I go full indie dev and create an entire game. I really enjoy doing it so I join game jams to improve my game dev skills.

Solid game very nicely polished.

Developer

We appreciate this comment. You are god damn right. 🤓

Fun quick game, although physics may make winning too random. First time it took me around 1:06 to get a letter out of the bucket, but second... 5 minutes in, bucket full and there was no way of getting  a letter to fall.

Developer

Randomness is the best balance of all the games out there. 🤓We do understand you fully though!

great game. I'm too slow to even finish the game... sad

That was cool and clean! I'm personally too slow for a high score, but that's a nice way to improve typing^^

Developer

Oh Yöda! That's literally me_irl :(

i love typing games so this was great, managed to TYPEFLOW in 32 seconds 😸

Developer

I am the game designer of the game and I couldn't do it under 32 seconds. :(

Satisfying, polished, and great concept!

Developer

We appreciate your comment and we also played your game and loved your game too!

A very nice and polished homage to typewriter typing tests! I especially enjoyed the sound effects, they added a lot of charm. At the start I was a bit confused, since I didn’t expect the test to be case-sensitive (with the word being written in uppercase), but once I activated my caps lock, the experience was very fun and engaging.

Developer

We've discussed this feedback with my friend, and we %100 agree with you. It was something we'd never think about.

I found every part of the game very polished and can see potential in the concept. It was great playing this game and it was hecktic. I would just like to have the game a bit less stressful and give the player more mercy (maybe more gamemodes?).

Developer(+1)

Great idea! Like some difficulty settings maybe? And difficulty determines the size of the balls... Who knows?

Submitted(+1)

Very cool concept 😍 I love typing words. I would try to beat it but getting 1 letter wrong means I need to refresh the page... is this intentional? Anyhow, great game overall!

Developer

All you have to is clicking on backspace 😅

But good point. Maybe we should have informed the players in terms of that. Thanks!

Submitted

OH

back to the grind,,,,

Submitted(+1)

It feels good to type, and there's a lot of polish!

I couldn't actually beat it in the end, I would make too many mistakes on a word and lose all the progress, so hopefully some better typers can screenshot their scores!

Good work!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words!

We'd still encourage you to beat it. 🤓 Better luck next time!
