Brilliant game! I loved the translation of Doom into a card game - that was a very unique idea! - and it was implemented very well too! The tutorial helped a lot in figuring out what to do, and it was great fun figuring out the best strategies in playthroughs (I love that chainsaw). All the cards being collected when the enemies were cleared was a great quality of life addition as well. The limitation was done really well, particularly with all the little details being randomised like the level names and the colour palette, a lot of effort was put into making it random and it paid off! The graphics were nice and readable too, and I loved seeing all those old Doom sprites and hearing the SFX too, particularly since everything had a sound effect attatched, I loved the feedback that gave the game. Overall, I loved the idea, and it was turned into a game brilliantly, so congrats on making this!

It's a card roguelike, so playthrough always changes as well as colors and music.

Nice game! I found a bug.
You can click endlessly on the card you already taken(card draws to the right from the player)
you can have infinite ammo, armor and health but also clicking on that will pass the level.
Honestly, I didn't understand how to properly play it and I am not very familiar with this type of game. But you have a cool menu and good music, and I love the flipping cards animation. I think I also need to expand my knowledge for these types of genre/games. Still, good work!
Permadeath and auto-generation is a great combination, and since it's based on DOOM, I found the weaponry intuitive. It would be more fun if there was a clear goal or a score to show how well the player progressed. Good work!
good game, tho i wasn’t always entirely sure what prompted the end of a level; i realize an “exit” card ends the stage, but sometimes it seemed like i was moved on even without grabbing one of those
my man! i dont really understand this one.. Check out my review at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission
Haha, seems that people is not familiar with Doom here. As they said in Lethal Weapon “I’m too old for this shit” (maybe that reference is only taken by boomers like me too). Anyway it’s my fault for not adding a tutorial screen.
The cards form a room. You have to clear it from monsters to move on unless you find an exit. Each monster have different levels and you better get equipment before you engage them. Also another thing that I didn’t mention is that you need to pick empty cards to get more ammo. You can also click 1 to 7 to change the weapon. So choices and the order is important. The weapons have different costs depending on damage power. It’s also important to kill monsters in a single shot or they will hit back.
For example if you shoot a Cyberdemon with a gun, every time you shoot at him you will cause little damage and then they will hit back causing terrible damage. So you need to shoot at them with a rocket launcher or a BFG. The most balanced weapon (as in doom) is the shotgun. Also if you have low health and the room has an exit, it’s better to pick ammo and stuff and just get away.
Also if you enter a room without monsters or when you clear the monsters the cards are picked up automatically (and you get the stuff in them, so you don’t need to pick them up one by one). Knowing this maybe you could try it again. I just tried to emulate the Doom logic with cards. But again, it’s my fault for not explaining this details that were in my head (typical dev error). Thank you for trying!
Nice. I liked the different colors and the card flipping animation. The audio was great too.
Hey thanks for trying! It’s just a roguelike where each room is created with random cards (obviously inspired in DOOM). To move forward you have to clear each dungeon of monsters. You have to pick items carefully before you try to defeat them because every time you attack they hit back. Sometimes you may find exits that let you slip through to the next room.
to be honest I don't understand the game but the idea with cards and roguelike is great. Good luck with the progress!
