THIS IS SO GOOD!!! the art is ff amazing, the gameplay feels rly good, the upgrades make me wanna play more and more. with a little difficulty balancing (I became op rly quick, also i felt like crit chance just wasn't worth it) and some more content this could go rly far. also the UI was a little big and often covered enemies or made it hard to shoot in the top-left direction so making it more minimal would be nice. good job damn
Thanks! Balancing was a bit of an issue in development, since I'd only playtest it for a few minutes at a time, and ran out of time at the end to properly play it through! So that helps explain why things scale ridiculously quick past the first run or so. Thank you for the kind words, still, and thanks for all the feedback!
Woah, nice one Cakestorm!
You really managed to make a balanced progression curve here, no easy feat in a gamejam. The way you constrained the stylization gave you a lot of creative expression and cohesion with just a few strokes. Felt very hand built in the best way.
The mechanics feel rock solid, shooting and movement felt awesome, scooping up gold felt incredible and the UI was really beautiful
My only note is that I think slightly desaturating the debris and non-player allies could make it easier to pick out player and targets with your eyes. The screen got busy and a little trickier to visually parse towards the end of my play.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if this took first, it's a really polished and well stylized game, infinitely playable. Well done.
Thanks for the feedback! I agree on the saturation point, it definitely did get a little hard to read at the end particularly with everything being brightly-coloured linework, so I'll keep that in mind in future. I'm glad you liked the rest of it, thought, and it's great to hear your thoughts, thank you!
Oh I loved all of it, that's just a tiny and subjective nit :)
Controls felt solid and the game is polished.
Love the aesthetic of the game! Very fun to play as well!
I don't even know how to describe how cool this game is. I don't think there's a downside to dying, but it's still really fun! Loved it
Thanks! With the dying thing, I voted to just add no downsides rather than have some more complex system, so I hope that was alright! I'm glad you liked the rest though!
10/10! So far my favorite game from the jam.
I've just started rating games but I'm pretty sure this will be one of my favorites. The visuals are amazing, the game is super fun to play and the song slaps hard! Great job, I played this one a lot! Might come back to it haha
The soundtrack and sound effects are really well made. The art style is also unique and fits the genre.
Always progressing after each run made me replay the game a lot.
awesome! art, gameplay, mechanics are awesome! nice work!
A really nice game here, good variety of stuff for the time period of the jam! It feels super nice to play and is really fun, as you've said yourself having more stuff within the game would make it better but that's something to think about for the future! I really like this, well done! :D
Thank you!
Just the art is amazing! Congrats and thanks for this!
Thanks, I'm glad the artstyle worked out!
This is slick. Consistent, appealing aesthetic. Smooth gameplay. Cool upgrades.
Probably one of my favorites so far. Extra points for pew pew in space.
