Use of the limitation
Every run the player receives a different dream creature. This dream creature also receives a different set of unlockable abilities every run. I wanted to give the player the possibility to beat the game with different characters and abilities. I really like this feeling of discovering new content every time.

This was a really interesting concept, I'd love to see it taken further! I love the idea of having to fight through a group of random monsters, particularly with all the variety there could be e.g. with different strengths or weaknesses, attack patterns etc. - there's a lot of potential with that, so well done for coming up with the initial idea! The levelling system was a good addition as well, it made progression feel a lot more satisfying and it was always fun to unlock a new attack. The art was also well made, particularly using the pink colour palette, and I loved the spritework for each of the dream creatures. The ending artwork was great to see as well!  Well done on this, keep up the good work!

Good work on the art!

Beautiful character design. There are some elements missing due to the limited time, but this game has so much potential. Keep working on this one. Good job!

good pokemon like idea :) will you continue with the project?

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I'm glad that you liked it. I will continue working on this game. Please feel free to follow me for updates.

Cool idea for a pokemon-like. I almost made it to level 10 but lost to a destroyer :(

Developer

Thank you for playing :D The enemies are quite overpowered right now lol. Sorry about that.

Cool idea! I think the attack buttons needed a bit more feedback, but the idea of getting a new creature each time is interesting. There seems to be a lot of variance between the dream creatures, and the art is nice. Also, attacks could have a little description as well, because it was a little difficult to understand what each of them did.

This concept could certainly be expanded, though, good job!

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback. I actually wanted to add attack descriptions, but it was about two hours before the jam ended. I'm glad that you found the concept interesting and will keep working on the game. Thanks again.

Your character design is so good! It gives me slight studio trigger vibes

Developer(+1)

Thank you :) Did you watch gurren lagann? it's one of my favorite anime from them.

Hell yeah! I wouldn't say it's on my top 10 but I love it and I think it's one of the best anime of all time ^^

cool concept and art! it would be nice if the visuals indicated a bit more, like if the enemy sprite changed with each enemy you fought, overall though I think this has good potential

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback. I will absolutely add more enemy sprites.

Very nice art and challenging gameplay! The lack of music and sound effects is a shame, but it's still very fun

Developer

Thank you!!! Adding audio will take some time but it will definitely give the characters more life.

clearly this is lacking some things but it was a good start nonetheless. Check out my review at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

Developer

Thank you so much for playing my game on stream. It really lacks a lot of things due to the short time. I will keep polishing it :)

Really nice art and good idea, I think that the randomness is really good on the characters, this could be expanded on in the future with different levels etc but I think for the time in the jam this is really good

Developer(+1)

Thank you :) I will definitely add more to the game.

Managed to clear after about 5 triess :)

Interesting concept~ but I kinda wished there was a way to heal (unless I'm missing something XD)

Maybe enemies could have a chance to drop random loots such as potions & items that grant lifesteal :o

I like the art too (especially the one for the Cat Witch) :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing!!! Some attacks heal for a little amount but it's not easy to see on the UI.

I like the idea of random loot. it would for sure add more to the game. Thanks for the feedback.

Cat Witch was a lot of fun to draw :)

I like the concept and art but the gameplay seemed lacking, just clicking the new attacks. Maybe I missed a tutorial?

Developer

Thank you for playing.  Yea, the gameplay needs some improvement. I'm still working on making the game better even after the jam. Thanks for the feedback.
