Clever and solid concept! Cute art, and I like how there are new sprites when you transform a girl. Could use more visual clarity showing the projectiles and the health of the enemies.

This TD x Card game is pretty fun! It was clear and easy to play, and controlled well overall. It did seem like the stage was a bit long. I eventually lost when I cranked up the speed, but didn't keep up with the defense to match.

The art is good, and the character sprites in this game are quite adorable!

I'd love to see a story or goal to keep me wanting to play more. This isn't a big issue since it's a jam game... I don't expect a fleshed out world or story, but that is something that would help me want to keep going if this was a full game.

Overall, this is great work! Keep it up. :)

The upgrading mechanics were really fun. I also liked the visual change when using transformations. Overall the sprites were really cute.

I struggled with rotating my units at first so I placed two of them in the wrong direction, maybe making alternative controls for rotating like R or mouse wheel would help. At least I could salvage the mistakes with range cards ^^

Like others said, with a bit more overall polish this could be even greater

This may be a prototype but is quite fun even in its current state.

Some of the effects are jankier than others, which isn't unexpected. The game still looks quite good for a prototype. The world is pretty generic, but visually pleasing, and the monster and girl graphics are pretty nice.

I didn't realize I could rotate girls at first. Once I figured that out I started doing quite a bit better.

As a tower defense game, it's pretty conventional, but well implemented. The upgrades really help make the gameplay interesting, especially the Range ones. They definitely require you to plan ahead a bit.

The UX could definitely use some improvement. All the information is there, but most of it is presented in a way that's really hard to understand at a glance. I think the biggest problems are that it's impossible to tell what upgrades a girl has without hovering over and reading their info, and that there's no clear indicator when a wave starts/ends, just the wave counter ticking over. In general it needs more iconography over text, and more elements that jump out and actively grab your attention instead of waiting for you to read them.

I wish you got more cards; it's a very slow drip feed and makes that system feel underemphasized. It's also not clear when/why you get a new card. Is it per wave? Every n waves? On a timer?

The discard/shop system seems like a bandaid solution to the problem of sometimes not getting the right cards and kind of cheapens it. I think having a discard mechanic is good, but it should just give you another card rather than letting you choose a type.

Fifty waves is way, way too long. The game is fun, but starts to get repetitive after ten or so waves. I think with better balancing and tweaks maybe 10-20 waves per level would be enjoyable.

A limit of 6 girls is probably right for the first level, but should increase with later levels, especially if you're going to have a lot of waves.

Probably a bug, but the transform card I got had glitched text.

Graphics are cute and implementation is solid. The concept of magical girl transformation is done well too. It’s a good game all-around and I couldn’t find much to criticize about other than that the game lacks variety in attacks/abilities and lacks effects/information like damage/HP to emphasize the impact of the player’s actions, because I felt that my actions were not very impactful and this is exacerbated by the slow random card draw which I feel limits my options quite a bit. Even the shop gives a random card of the selected type, so there’s less player freedom. It doesn’t mean that the game is luck-based, and even if it is, all I meant is that it needs some tweaking to make the player feel more in-control, like I’m playing the game instead of the game playing me. With that said, it’s not a big deal because Magi Quick Draw TD is already quite polished in its mechanics and everything about it is quite pleasant to experience. All in all, it’s a decently fun and well-made game. Good job!

Things I liked:

  • It isn't too difficult to get into a formation that locks the enemies out for many rounds while keeping the team upgraded, but you still have to stay on your toes or else the enemies will break through
  • Simple controls
  • Different field layouts for new challenges

Things I didn't like:

  • Lack of enemy variety
  • Game needs more sounds to emphasize key things happening, like transformations and upgrades. It could also use more variety in background music.
  • Lack of end point. Unlimited growing enemy waves eventually get to a point where a once rock-solid formation starts letting enemies through.

Overall I really enjoyed this game and played through many waves on maps 1 and 5.

This is thoroughly addicting! At first I didn't get it but it is so fun I can't believe it. Love the graphics and peaceful sounds. I want to play forever!

Controls are weird .. should allow rotation with out having to hold other button.

the sprites are super cute!

Has potential but kinda buggy at this point.

I just kept killing everything and it never stopped.

I dont think I got a card every wave as described in the summary, I think the enhancements are a cool idea especially how I enjoy TD's but I do think being unable to change the direction of the range upgrades is a weird thing because then you'd lose out on the extra range benefits especially when you get acquainted with the game, and well I suppose you can luck out on the rng aspect of not actually getting TowerGirls draws and when you don't get cards every wave as intended its sometimes GG right there.
