You shouldn’t. Except if there’s a lag spike and some body entities were created on top of you while not moving so you collide with them. Sorry for the buggy implementation :(

idk what this game is doing, but it starts to lag after a few seconds then the snake just dies on it's own, i can't really play it

The line is so expressive I like it XD

and I also didn't expect you could eat a wall later on lol

The game over screen when the snake is so big you could only see it's mouth is so creative too XD

This game, with the right music and a bit of polish on the graphics, could be a super winning idea! In its simplicity, I found it really cute and enjoyable to play. Kudos for the concept, it has great potential!

Thank you! this is really inspiring. I'm targeting developing this game until june in in order release something more polished (but still restricted in scope). mostly in order to force to start making finished games.

Very fun idea, I like the twist to such a simple popular game! I was confused on what became eatable, but other than that, it was fun "expanding" the more I ate!

So simple to understand yet fun to play! I really love the win condition of eating the whole level!

Not sure if I stumbled on bugs or otherwise, but I did have some issues restarting a level after hitting stuff, and there was one crash. But still, it was only 10 days. Truly congrats on your game release!

I like this game, I found it really fun! As mentioned by others it needs a way to rapidly reload the level.

Having said that, I think the controls are very good and the escalation was really satisfying, especially the distortion at the end. It caught me off guard when I started devouring the level and by the end of it i had a huge grin on my face! :D

I may submit a build where you hit R to restart the game but I'm not sure if that goes against the rules :P

I had so much fun playing! The game loops feels smooth and when you finally are huge and start eating the map feels so rewarding and funny at the same time!

Also it felt awesome trapping the red circles so they couldn't chase me! xD

Nice one really enjoyed it!

The walls are a clever feature. I locked myself out of some noms! It was satisfying trapping the red balls.

yeah you really need to think if you need to come back from an entrance. one tip is to try to never commit to being in the inner area of your tail if you don't know it has enough mobs to eat to beat the level. also the outer void is quite useful to chill and plan your next move.

Didn't notice the instructions wouldn't be displayed here. To quit or restart just close the window (alt +  f4, or equivalents). 

I wasn't able to get a bunch of stuff out for the jam:

  • General balancing
  • Menu to restart or quit the game
  • Sound
  • Items
  • Juice

But at least the game is a tad playable.
