Once I'd figured out how to play, it was fun trying to keep the balance, and could feel the simulation game bug bite! Would be nice to see this built on, the setting could be really nice too.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! after the conclusion of the jam I'm going to make the game more visually appealing as well as balance it better and add new features.

Submitted

I love simulation games. This is a good start on one.

Developer

Thank You. Ill make sure to fine tune and add more to it after the jam.

Pretty cool, reminded me of an old Newgrounds style game. Got 26 points. It's definitely got some fun in there, the only issue I had was that the stakes are not too high and I don't really know what the end game is. Otherwise I liked it!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing . I’ll try to balance the game and make some incentive for the player to try to build

It's a nice game , I really liked the concept .Well done

Thank You!

Please  take some time to review my game.

Good game to manage resources !

Developer

Thank You. Ill make sure to add some balance to increase the fun.

Awesome game!  Fun to balance the resources.  Thank you for making this!

Developer

Thank you for playing

Looks like a difficult game to make! You have done a good job. I wasn't very good at it though haha. Thanks for sharing your game!

Developer

Thank You. In the future ill make sure to balance the game a little bit so the difficulty doesn't ramp up so quickly.

I really like the idea of the game! Managing a city, its growth, its resources, whilst also minimizing spread of disease is a fairly common element in city builder survival games, but a focus on disease is something I personally haven't seen.

I always like to highlight the positives and as such I would like to say I think you have a really good foundation here to build off of. Adding animations, sounds, polish, and more complex systems on top of this will turn this into an amazing game, and I can't wait to see it!

For starters as other's have said, a tutorial is essential for a game of this type. Making them is a lot of work, especially for this type of game, and I can understand why it may not have been a priority during a game jam, but moving forward, it should be on your mind how you will explain the process of play to the player.

All in all, you should be proud of your work!

Good job friend :)

Developer

Than You! Ill begin planning future features and Ill begin to Implement them after the Jam ends.

Submitted

It's a cool idea! But you should definitely consider adding some animations and sound! That would bring life into the game!

Developer(+1)

You're right After the Jam period Ill add some polish.

Submitted

Yeah! You can find a lot of good sprites on itchio that will suit your game!

I really liked the ide and think the stats are added very well, I think it could of used a tutorial level to explain it a bit bot all in all is pretty straight forward. I believe the UI text was a bit blurry and not centred , but was still readable. one other criticism i have is the lack of audio and animations to really bring the game to life. I think the game has a really good idea it could just use some extra animations and sounds, for example the people displayed in text form on the left could be instantiated if the number goes up and just have a walking animation and just walk around on a simple transform script, you could also have them have death animations when the number goes down. but overall its a great start and is a very good idea, could of used a more clear link to the theme though.

Developer

I like the idea of instantiating people into the scene, maybe I’ll turn the doctors into doctor offices so the doctors can be walking around too

Thx I'm happy I can be of help, if you have any feedback of my game let me know ill take what i can get :)

Yep! hopefully i can add unlockable buildings and  otherfeatures soon

Submitted

Cool little game but I'm confused how it relates to theme.

Cool entry :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you.   I tried to relate it to the theme by making the buildings and resources a system of depleting some resources while gaining others. Its not physically connected, but  I made sure to check  and make sure it wasn't too much of a stretch and would still fit in the theme.

Nice work! I really like how simple this concept is, but how it allows for so many different strategies and paths toward success.

Developer

Thank you! I \'ll make sur to at least clean the game up some more and maybe even expand it.

I died so fast in my first attempt xD
But it's fun so I tried it multiple times and really enjoyed this cute little game =D

Developer

Thank you I’m glad you liked it

Submitted

I enjoyed the experience, but I was kind of unsure what I was working towards. I think with a little more polish and some smooth animations this game would shine even more!

Developer

thanks, I’m thinking about overhauling the game to be overall more fun and better looking after the judging period ends

Submitted

Just want to say that the UI was absolutely fine for me. It's a fun little balancing act and is quite difficult to get the hang of as it goes a long,  which seems to be the intent. I was wondering if there's an end point like a certain amount of gold to achieve or such, or is the main aim to keep the balancing act going for as long as possible? Either way, I really like the style and idea!

Developer

thank you, the difficulty isn’t supposed to ramp up so fast so I’ll keep tweaking the balancing. As for the endpoint I’m still thinking,  I might let the player unlock more buildings as the population grows or maybe I’ll have competing villages run by AI

Submitted

No problem. I found that the hunger would fluctuate very quickly after a bit but I wouldn't consider that anything to worry about. I like the idea of unlocking more buildings and so on.I wish you good luck if you do decide to expand upon it!

Developer(+1)

Thanks

This game has potential.

A few minor things I noticed:

Seems like the Plague vs Plague Doctors was a bit off and really ramps up after adding a couple of houses. Not sure why but it really went haywire. For example and it always seemed around my score reaching >= 26 not sure if there is something that triggers at this moment but there is no indication on my score increasing or what is increasing it.

Good job!

Developer

Thanks I was trying to fix the function that controls the plague but the jam timer only had a couple minutes left. It’s based on your population divided by the strength of all of your doctors combined, which is why it caps out at 26, the doctors aren’t counted after placing more buildings for some reason and 25 is the highest the sick meter can go meaning after the population breaks 25 you automatically die. I’ll keep working on fixing it wafted the judging period is over.

Cute Game ! Hard to balance but it works well :)

Little feeback:

When you do pixel art it's important to have a constant pixel size on the screen so your assets looks coherent with each other.  On unity you can achieve that by using the pixel-perfect camera and keep all your sprites to a size of 1.  For the ui sliders you should used sliced sprites so that the engine will scale it properly to your canvas size and keep the pixel ratio.

Also the numbers (text) in your ui looks blurry you should switch to using textmeshpro.

it's a good start ! Keep going at it :)

Developer

Thanks, UI and Art Hasn't really been my strong suit but ill try that out.

Submitted

This is an interesting idea but I don't feel like I have any sort of goal to work towards.

Developer

Yeah, I'm trying to come up with a way to make the player want to keep expanding in case I decide to make this a larger game.

Submitted

Cool game well done!

Developer

Thank You
