I had a lot of fun playing this! I enjoyed getting to know the characters and figuring out how to speak to them! Well done!

This was so fun! I loved it! It was really sweet getting to meet everyone and seeing what they liked. Erato's sass was on point and I enjoyed playing around with the dialogue choices.

The only thing I'd nitpick about is that during the process of crafting the gift, you could display who the gift is to be crafted for because I definitely freaked out for a second when I forgot who I clicked to make the gift for. But that's also me and my goldfish memory. :P

Thanks for making this!

Developer

Sweet, so good to hear you loved it! That's really good feedback on the crafting menu, I'll take that to heart for sure. Thanks for playing!

I  very much enjoyed this game. It was funny and lovely and made me feel good. I felt totally ready for my next client after it was over :)

I have to disagree about the feedback, that the dossier made the game too easy. You don't have to read it, if you want to play the game the "hard" way. But for people, who sometimes struggle, to remember small information, it was very helpful and i still read everything carefully.
I think, it is ones own loss, to just skip the conversation. This is not a game, you play to just achieve a victory, it is a game, you enjoy playing and reading

Developer

Yay! Glad you enjoyed it! That's all either of us wants! And thanks for the notes about the dossier feedback, I think I agree but I can see how others might be looking for something different from it.

The game was really sweet. The act of being a kind-of -therapist to troubled writers was satisfying, and I think I was reading the text more carefully because I knew I had to gather clues out of the conversations.

The only complaint I have is, along the same lines as Orlon the dog's review, the dossier made things too easy. You can just skip through the conversations and still have the clue written in dossier. I was really excited in the tutorial when CEO said that you'll make amulets which will suit the client; I was expecting the 'perfect amulet' as something subject to my interpretation of client's state. So that turned out a little dull but to repeat what I said at the start, I really loved the idea and its execution. You write beautifully!

Developer

Thanks for the playing the game, I'm glad you thought it was sweet and satisfying! I agree, Anna writes beautifully! Re: the dossier, I guess we felt InkJam is not really about challenging gameplay, but we thought it might be frustrating in a classic-adventure-game-combine-the-chicken-with-the-pulley-sort-of-way if you felt like you were trying to read the intentions of the author in terms of what is best. But I get it; you emphasize one thing, and it means emphasizing something else a little less, and maybe something some players might like!

Anyway, really glad you still enjoyed the other parts of the game and appreciate you playing it!

I really like the idea of a Muse, Inc, having an "inspiration company" makes me laugh ! Nice one :)

Developer

Thanks, glad our little game could make you laugh, that's very gratifying!

I had fun! To be honest, I didn't get what scrying was for at first, but I did get there eventually! I'm gonna have to try and get a good ending.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing! I'm sorry you had a little trouble with one of the mechanics. Did you do the tutorial at the beginning in the first conversation, is there anything you'd suggest for making that part a little clearer where it's explaining scrying, etc?

Let us know if you have any other comments or what you think if you play it again, and I hope you have fun!

No, I didn't go through the tutorial, so that's really on me. I did get it a few scrys after, so it wasn't any trouble. I enjoyed it!

This hit all the things I enjoy. A wide array of loveable characters, charming writing and even some exploration! I feel bad about how I messed up making a token for Li, and how she loses her passion, but I do like how the other characters have good endings that aren't "They become the most sucessful writer in the world" but are more "They get joy from their work", which I think is really sweet!

Developer

Really gratifying to hear you enjoyed it, thank you!

Could always play again to give Li the ending she deserves? ;)

Love love LOVE this one, I really cannot overstate how much I loved it!!! The concept, the aesthetic of the whole game, the tender stories, the characters you two managed to flesh out in such short notice. I just, loved it!!!

My only critique here would be the navigation system? It took me a bit to get used to, and got lost a bit too much on the temple. Maybe it's just my dumb dog brain though! Also, despite how charming it is, it feels like the system to find artifacts feels a bit too easy? I mean, I get difficulty isn't the point of it anyways, and it's not like it stopped me from enjoying this anyways.

Overall, amazing! I want to see what you two can do in the future!! : o

The characters were all Anna, I agree, she did a great job! =p

Thanks so much for the glowingly positive words, I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much.

And I hear you on the item collection thing. I had intended to flesh that out into something more compelling but we just didn't have time and so we kept the focus on the story stuff.

I really loved the concept of paying attention to the characters' personalities to create an object unique to them.  I found the dossier super helpful, I would be completely lost without it.  Well done, I had a lot of fun playing!

Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
