A good pacman clone with some clever and amusing messages and…other things…in each level. Still, I have to point a few things out (some are probably pointed out by others I imagine)

  • This needs grid-based movement. Badly. Pacold keeps getting stuck on corners.
  • The ghostreids (ha!) weren’t too terribly bright. In the original pacman, one charming thing about the ghosts is that each one has a different algorithm that determines what route it takes as it chases the player. These ghosts just kind of…derped around as they tried to get to you. I don’t think they tried to flee when you got the sword pickup, either–but I could be wrong about that.
  • Ghosts having permadeath lowers the challenge significantly.
  • The hearts are a bit too busy visually and can distract the player from more important things (their own location, ghost locations, sword power-ups, etc
  • This game really needs a few seconds of “Get Ready!” before it starts so the player can get their bearings on each new level.

Didn't get to the end, as I died on stage 4. Cool graphics and music. I have to agree with the others that I often got stuck on the wall and would have preferred grid movement for this game. Also, it took me a few seconds each time before I realized where I was after entering a new stage.

All in all pretty good game :)

Cute game. The movement didn't feel quite right to me; I often got stuck in-between spaces. The song got old pretty quickly too. I didn't see the required line of dialog - I'm guessing that's in there if you get to the end? Can't complain about much else; it's a pretty good Pac-Man clone for an entry. I died to ghosts despite knowing they can be killed permanently, so there's still plenty of challenge here. I laughed at the "Buy Manu assets" level.

it was paid ads, hope it didn't affect your experience. blame Manu if anything.

Excellence: Plays enough like Pac-Man, but unfortunately I had to take a star off because I kept struggling to fit into holes. Would've appreciated it if Pac-Harold snapped to the grid instead of moving freely.

Combat: Eating ghosts is as close as you can get for a Pac-Man clone, but when I play Pac-Man I'm not expecting in-depth battles anyway. I appreciate the power-up timer.

Comedy: The concept of Harold Pac-Man is pretty funny but Pac-Man games usually don't come with a boatload of comedy anyway.

Sound: Was nice having custom sounds, but if you're going to put music in a Pac-Man game please make the loop more than four seconds long.

Visuals: Perfect marriage of Harold and Pac-Man complete with Reid ghosts.

Story: Eat the hearts, get the swords, eat the Reids. I feel bad giving this a low score though considering arcade games aren't really supposed to have in-depth stories anyway.

I really feel like I rated this lower than I should've based on the criteria and how I perceived them, but don't get me wrong; this is a really really nice entry and definitely something out of the ordinary.

I was going to make grid movement, but I wanted to finish within some hours, overall the game was made only to enjoy and have a little fun!
if you did enjoy fora while, that's what counts!

Ton of fun, I got a good few minutes enjoyment here dude.  That percussion was interesting in the soundtrack.  I think grid based pac-Harold would be more fun, the pixel movement saw me get stuck a lot.

Developer(+1)

is cause Harold is too powerful to be bound to grids! ahahaha

Ain't no grid that can hold the H.

I'm bad at pac man but this is impressive, fun and charming

Made it through a few loops. Getting caught on corners was a bit frustrating and led to a few deaths. I was also lost at the beginning of each stage when it transitioned. I'm deeply thankful that the enemies didn't respawn. Pac Harold himself and your subliminal messages were kinda funny.

Developer

did you made till map 5? I hope not, or am banned! HAHAHA

Pacman clone starring harold!

Overall solid although it was very easy to get my character stuck on the corner of blocks, outside of that it is pretty good. The tunes got a real good vibe going!

Developer(+1)

Harold don't get stuck, stuck gets Harold.

The controls worked like ass at first then the music kicked in in my head and I started to just vibe to the game and I got kind of good and then I realized my supper had gone cold in front of me but there was no time to stop I had to keep going.
10/10 for quarter eater feels.
Might have to play that again. Just not with hot food in front of me!

Hey, i'm happy to know that you enjoyed it! Harold is probably happy! hahaha

The Pac-har character is funny, and this was fun to play.

Thanks!

A fun little pacman clone. If I have any suggestions it would be nice to have a small pause when you clear a level instead of having it go straight to the next one, and I would like a couple new tunes as the music got a little old by stage 5.

Overall though, well done.

did you enjoy the ads? hahaha
