GAMEPLAY
The game concept is a good idea, but the control mechanics need some refinement for smoother gameplay. Sometimes I could see too little to know where to go. Jumping sometimes didn't seem high enough, and the second character occasionally blocked my view while I was trying to redo a jump, even though she wasn't really in the way of course. Needs some extra love to fix that and the game will be a lot better and the story will come out better also I think.

ART STYLE / VISUALS
The graphics & visuals were well done!

AUDIO / SOUND DESIGN
The audio quality was satisfactory & good.

INNOVATION
The game shows a small degree of innovation.

THEME
The theme was incorporated into the game's concept, checked.

Overall, a good idea with some rough edges that could definitely be smoothed out with an update. Keep up the good work 💪

The game controls felt very awkward and i couldn't complete the level because the jump height was less

Submitted

Loved the concept , Loved the sound design , Loved the Graphics , but I had a few suggestions , a bit of kayote time and some increased jump height would do the trick , but I really loved the theme interpretation and everything else , so a 5star from me

loved the art/style, and the audio to go along with it really sets the mood. unfortunately i had some trouble with the hitboxes of the platforms. amazing job overall

The graphics and art are amazing. I had problems with the jumping and collisions, the idea is great. Great job!

The visuals and atmosphere are fantastic, but the controls and platform sizes and placement need work.
It took me too long to realize how the light increase worked, and you really have to be right on top each other to get the benefit, so the moment you jump, you can't see where you're going.
For a long time I was just learning the map by jumping blind, but even when I would wait for the light boost and knew exactly where to go, I would miss/hit it and slide off and run all the way back to try again.
I really wanted to see where the story would go because it looks like there was a lot of thoughtful work put into the visuals and design, but the platforming became too frustrating to continue.

really love the art: so much detail in the background that adds to the environment, animations look smooth, everything is cohesive and really pleasant to look at, 11/10 in that respect. the sound design is also amazing really really good job there, it adds a ton of depth to the world. one critique is the movement felt a little too floaty for such a gritty world and collisions with the edge of platforms was too clunky (especially when trying to jump back onto a platform after falling to the bottom). i also really dig the idea of only being able to see the next platform when not isolated as an application of the theme in theory, but in practice it leads to a lot of jumping to one platform and then waiting and then jumping and then waiting etc. which isnt the most fun gameplay. but the world is so gorgeous that i didnt mind waiting around too much. awesome entry overall, nice work!!

Developer

Thanks for playing the game! We appreciate the kind comments :) Unfortunately we ran out of time to fix the platform edges/collisions, but we will keep note of it in the future!

Good game, please try our game :)

It's great that you made the graphics and audio yourself. Congratulations! impeccable work. I couldn't finish the game, sorry.

The chromatic aberration in the background was a neat touch but i would’ve liked to see it animated I think. The platforming was a little wonky but that happens. I couldn’t figure out what the deal with the three switches at the end was? It’s a cool idea for a story though for sure, and I like the art style :)

That's a cool suggestion! Definitely would've been a fun addition if we had a little extra time. We tried to do a "three paths" level toward the end where you had to press all three buttons to finish the level, but it ended up being a bit unclear unfortunately. Thanks for trying out our game!

Submitted

Loved the art style! I would say that jumping on the platforms was quite challenging.

Submitted

Nice art style and story! Try out my game! ::))

Submitted

The art is very unique and i love it, but i got stuck at the second plataform, my character didn't want to stay on the plataform and the buttons wasn't very clear in the beggining.

I really like the art style. The platformer physics are a bit weird. I often get pushed out of the platform when I land on the side of it. I also found a glitch where you can jump super high if you press the jump button a few times very fast, so you can basically skip all the platforming sections. I also did a short speedrun of the game using this glitch :)

Developer

Woah, not sure why that's happening,  I tried to reproduce it but it wasn't happening maybe because I'm not spamming jump fast enough. And yeah the platform collision is a lil janky, we didn't have the time to get around to fine tuning it unfortunately. Thanks for playing though, and congrats on the first speedrun world record of our game!

Submitted

The visuals are pretty good, I don't know why but character doesn't get on platform whenever i try to jump on it

Played and rated! Really liked the concept and visual style :)
The movement was a bit too precise and I fell quite a lot, but managed to finish the game.

Would appreciate if you check out our game as well!

Cute little game but feels a bit floaty and platforms need a bit more of a hitbox, felt like I kept sliding off of them even when landing in what looked like the middle.

Developer

the collision is a bit wonky unfortunately which is probably what's messing with landing on platforms sometimes

Submitted

I played the game a bit but I felt like something was off with the collision detection because sometimes I got stuck in the side of platforms. I wasn't able to figure out why the ghost was following me but I liked the idea of her doing the same moves as the player but delayed.

Developer

yeah we weren't able to fix some of the wonkiness with the collision in time unfortunately, but thanks for playing!

i wont rate it now, but i couldnt figure out how to get past the first dialog thingy, pressed space wasd and alot of other keys and it just wont budge, you know whats causing this?

Submitted(+1)

Space did it for me. Was the game in focus?
