Thanks for playing! You can leave a rating if you’d like :)
More games are on the way, I’ve improved a lot over the past 6 months.
I think I now know very well how bad it feels to release a Christmas special horror game after the main timing/wave 😂😭
I started a free, unique 40-minute Christmas horror game back in November and still haven’t finished it. I’ll probably release it in a few days lol. It was originally planned for release around Christmas, but later I realized I underestimated the time and finishing it by then was impossible.
Has something similar ever happened to you? Just curious. I actually felt a bit relieved after seeing a Christmas horror game released late and still getting played really well 🙂
Good luck with the project, it looks great.
And thanks again! I really got a lot of relief and motivation to finally finish mine. I think I’ve got about 40% left to complete.
Hey, sorry for commenting here, but I really need an early playtester for my Christmas-special horror game. Could you help me out? I can give you an early copy, and all I ask is your opinion on whether the game feels good or bad, and if there’s anything I could improve or fix. Your feedback will let me release the game without any worries. I can also credit you in the description for early playtesting.
If you want a brief, it’s a 30-40 minute horror game, centered around Santa and alien mysteries, with a touch of childhood nostalgia. The game starts cozy but gradually turns creepy. It also has a nice story and a twist [I think].
If you can help, it would be much appreciated. You can share a contact, mail or Discord [I prefer Discord].
Here's my honest review: The atmosphere design is excellent, but the concept is very very simple. The gameplay type is also short. And overall, it's not a good game, except the atmosphere. Honestly, this game has no twist, just some weird/funny animations at the end. Is it really make sense like someone came at office, asked how are you, then said "I will kill you". The most simple game I have ever played. Nevermind my review, it's just my thought imao.
Do you still need a programmer?
I’m an experienced Godot developer with 3 years of experience. I’ve worked on different kinds of projects and can create both apps (like a code editor) and games. I specialize in retro-style FPS as well as realistic ones, and I’ve already built a few (I have videos I can share, though they weren’t released).
I’m comfortable working on FPS, TPS, horror, 2D games, or even software in Godot, pretty much anything you need.
What an excellent game!!! Great Job with this one. That the bathroom scene got me off guard haha. I am pretty sure this series, [Herror] will be better than fear to fathom! By the way, could I ask you a question? How much time did it required for you to make the whole game? And, Did you worked with team? Those NPC Models looks so detailed and the animations too!.
Nevermind, I don't generally write bad reviews, but it's just my thoughts, aka honest review. The atmosphere could be stronger. I have played a lot of horror games before, even made many horror scenes [WIP], but this game's atmosphere is very light as of my idea, not scary, could be darker and scarier. Also, the optimization is really bad, I just closed the game after spending few mins. The fov could be increased slightly.
So in short, it would be really great if you could:
- Fix the performance issue [tips: setup LOD, lower resolution to give psx effect, use occlusion culling, etc]
- Make the atmosphere darker and scarier
- Increase the fov slightly, eg by 4-5.
Regarding performance issue, just to inform that Im using gtx 900 series, which is descent to run high-graphics scenes easily, the issue is just optimization. I didn't meant that it was unplayable, I was getting 60+ fps most of the time with some lag spikes, but at 90-99% of graphics utilization instead of 20-60 as most games haa. The reason I closed the game is the low fov, it is really annoying, fixing it would be nice. But, the map/models looks great, good job with the game! Just, try to avoid those common mistakes :)
