Sweet Bunny game with a twist ;-)!
GAMEPLAY
I enjoyed the transition from a calm activity like planting flowers to sudden action sequences where you were fighting for your life. The controls were responsive and effective. The changing map throughout the story added a dynamic element to the gameplay. Maybe some health power-ups somewhere would have been nice. Also some more variety and waves maybe. Or more flower types. Had fun playing it.
ART STYLE / VISUALS
The graphics featured cute pixel art, which cleverly incorporated occasional (evil) twists that kept the visual experience engaging.
AUDIO / SOUND DESIGN
The background music was soothing and appropriate for the gardening scenes, with an increase in tempo during combat scenes, enhancing the atmosphere.
INNOVATION
The game wasn't particularly innovative but executed its concepts well.
THEME
The theme of isolation was well integrated into the gameplay and story.
For a first game jam game and second game ever. Very good effort. Keep it up 💪!
The art it's very cute and colorful, nice color combination btw!
Solid game, I like how the map changes and the characters dialogs. The art is nice but some sprites seem to have a different resolution that the environment which isnt something big. On full screen the game looks a bit weird to me, like blured out so I played windowed. Plants that become weapons is a nice idea the game was clear and I didnt felt lost at any point.
Nice art and cool ideas with the plants and the tone and art shift in the battle zones! I did encounter the wrong dialogue showing up when heading down near the end, and even when the game is paused the blue flower turrets still fire. Also would've liked if there was a way to refill your health, either in between battles or during, and the turn off gore option is not functioning, but otherwise pretty cool game!
Played and rated!
Nice art style, sound effects fitting and the concept was interesting really like it overall :)
At some point I was stuck when the bridge disappears I didn't know I had to go there to unlock the rest so I wandered around a lot. The hitbox of the flower planting could be improved I think.
Well done for your second game! :D
Super cute sprites and music! It took me some time to understand how to plant flowers, but I eventually figured it out. I really like the twist with the fighting parts and how the flowers turn into weapons. Overall, it's a nice game. Great job on your first game jam!
I thought this was pretty fun when there were totally normal flower-growing activities to do :P but spent a lot of time wandering around doing nothing. Would’ve enjoyed more just waves of setting up for fights without the time the story stuff took - I’m notoriously impatient and would’ve loved a sprint ability too. The actual story itself was decent and I liked especially how things developed towards the end, felt creative and cool, just took more slow wandering than I would’ve liked.
Congrats on finishing your first jam and second ever game! It was well done overall and definitely something to be proud of :)
Thank you for playing and thanks for the feedback, I did want to add more waves and stuff, it originally was not going to be such a story driven game but, idk I got carried away lol. I fully agree it could use some more action and probably a sprint button as well, but overall I'm just really happy I was able to finish in a completable state :)
Yeah 10 days isn’t a lot of time, it’s easy to want to do all sorts of things, and then get sucked into spending a day or two on something you’re excited about and realize you no longer can do the original plan, I only experience that every single time I do a game jam 😂
You should be happy with this for sure though!
I really liked this games concept of the planted flowers turning into traps and the art was super cute!
