Cute game. Art is very good and it looks quite polished! Animations feel nice too! Wish there were more levels and spells!
Also good implementation of a UI wildcard.
Nice game! Love the art work, especially the backgrounds!
Great game, really polished. Loved the aesthetic
Very polished game with pretty unique mechanics, loved it!
Great game and that ending, i laughed a bit. Also the art is amazing
Thanks!
I enjoyed the game, loved the aesthetics of the game, it's well polished !
The game start being real hard after you get the antidote spell, and I couldn't finish it, but the concept opens a lot of doors, and I liked it very much.
Congratulations !
Also, your thumbnail is awesome, please make the same one with my face and a Squirtle.
Thank you for playing! The trick with poisons is to use the antidote spell as soon as you got poisoned.
Glad you like the thumbnail! Also, I don't do commissions for now.
Nice idea and presentation!
I almost feel defeated by the game when I got the antidote spell, as I was a little confused on the visual cues telling how many magic I had left, the hero's HP or which monsters where poisonous and such, and died a lot of times there. XD
But after I got that, it was fun!
I should have placed the healer near the bed at home. There's an interactable book at the bookshelf that'll show you a guide for the mana and the hero's hp. Anyways, glad you enjoyed the game!
Fun game, especially the later levels. I like the idea of basing a game around being a support character. Great presentation, looks quite polished.
Glad you enjoyed the game. Thanks for playing!
I like this game, played thru the whole game until defeating the final boss. Nice environment graphic, music is good too. For the final boss, the music just suddenly turn on, got a little surprised there.
For the hero/healer sprites, would prefer it to be a little larger. its a little hard to figure out how damaged is the hero is. I couldnt really tell when hero is poisoned, the green flash once is a while wasnt too obvious, my hero had died a few times because of that.
I was trying that trick not to play any music and let the player tense up a bit until you meet the boss but yeah, I guess the boss music is a bit sudden.
In development, I was thinking of adding hints for the poison like green bubbles and a sfx to compensate for the small sprites but I forgot. Hahah
Glad you liked the game. Thanks!
nice game
The color palette is fantastic and the art is super charming. You actually inspired me to make a new thumbnail for how eye-catching yours was!
The concept of the game itself is pretty fun, though the gameplay was a bit dull for the first few levels. It picked up in to a fun healing puzzle as new mechanics were introduced though! I also find myself running in to an issue where my spells stop working. Overall though, really well-executed and cute experience! Excited to see more games with art from you in the future!
P.S. Maybe do an HTML 5 embed in the future? Those tend to be the most accessible in my experience. (Won't affect my rating of your game though!) I'm mostly checking those out first, but I figured with your post in the Discord being pretty inviting I'd come and give it a fair shake!
Thanks for playing the game and leaving feedback! It's thanks to the GWJ community for picking a good thumbnail. For the spells where it stops working, my guess is you do not have enough mana?
Yes, you'll be seeing more of this art style. I've been spamming it in game jams lately. Lol
You say spamming, I say practicing! Whether you're in a familiar style or new style, as long as you're making something you're making progress.
And it was totally the mana, hahahah.
Great graphics. Absolutely loved your style. It was way too short, unless I missed something! Is it just the one level. Also, small gripe, but it would be great if we could handle the UI using the keyboard. It's not fun to have to reach for the mouse to click on a button.
Thanks for playing! There should be 7 levels and a boss at the end. How did your playthrough go? I'm still studying how to control UI stuff using only keyboard so yea.
Maybe I should give it another try tomorrow to see what I missed. What happened was that I'd do a level and then return home at the end. So I don't know, maybe I played more than one level without realizing?
About making controls work with keyboard/controller, this is something I've recently worked out myself. When you select a control, if you go to the inspector, under the "focus" heading, you can set what is left/right/up/etc relative to that control. It's pretty straightforward to use.
If you have used all 4 skills, then yes you've played all the levels. Haha
Just saw the Focus properties, definitely will use it for the next game/jam.
