Well done, especially for your first jam in a new engine! The cute blocky visuals actually gave me a Veggie Tales + Miitopia vibe :)

Developer

Thank you very much!

great game.

Cute art style

Submitted(+1)

The game had a nice artstyle to it. I liked how you had to switch between weapons to give to the hero.

The challenge seem to be to find the correct weapon before it was too late. It also got a bit repetitive after a while.

Overall, I enjoyed helping the hero.

Developer

Thank you very much! I do have some ideas to work on in the future to help with the repetitive game loop, I have a few ideas of other things I can have the player do between the fights so that it feels a little less repetitive, but didn't have time during the jam to add them. Thank you for the feedback!

It was really cute and pleasing. Was a bit confusing till i figured out the controls, but the art style really is beautiful, only one slight problem, the dude in the back got hidden by a tree and i couldnt see what weapon i was choosing.

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! Clear and remapable controls and the tree visibility issues are both things I plan on revisiting at some point after the jam is finished

Great work on doing a 3D game for your 1st jam. its a very simple endless runner kind of game, easy to play and control. Just that sometimes, there are tree blocking the assistant while the hero is fighting, so you cant see what you are holding now.

Developer

Thank you! I know the trees can sometimes be an issue, I need to figure out how to make them transparent when blocking line of sight, but I didn't have the time during the jam to work it in. It's something I plan on figuring out to add later though!

I had fun with it. I wish there was a way to pick up items from the people you defeat (maybe there is but idk). You can get stuck if you run into an enemy that blocks your only weapon every time. All in all, it's a good game. The main mechanic has a lot of potential if you can add an inventory. Good job!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the feedback! My initial plan was to have the enemies drop weapons/items when defeated, but I thought it was more fun when you already have a full inventory so there are more items to keep track of and you will always have the weapons you need to defeat the enemies. BTW, you can press the left and right arrow keys to cycle through your inventory, I should have put the control scheme in the main menu but it totally slipped my mind, sorry if that caused confusion!

Submitted(+1)

Ah, I should've pressed everything like always. I'll play it again and give it another run or two!

Fullfills the jam theme and has beautiful graphics. The light effects with that big sun raising were specially good :)

As a suggestion, include a description of the controls in-game would have been perfect.

Developer

Thank you so much! I had definitely wanted to include remappable controls in the settings menu, but I ran out of time before I could implement it. But since I couldn't, it would have been a great idea to include the control scheme in the game. Thanks for that feedback! I'll keep that in mind for my future games
