Thank you for making this game. I enjoy puzzle games, and it's rare to find such an excellent puzzle game in a game jam.
The known bugs did not seem to impact my gameplay experience (at least to me).
Just in case you are wondering whether anyone notices your cool stuff, I have reached two different endings and am impressed (screenshot above, hopefully without revealing too many spoilers).

On your page, I couldn't find the jam submission.

I don't have a strategy for rating and commenting on a game that doesn't exist.

Like many jam games, starting and finishing one requires learning and a time investment.

Nonetheless, it's worth learning. The strong commitment you've shown in your comments can help you learn Godot. It is quite likely that you haven't learned as much as you could have as a solo dev.

Thanks for playing!

And you are right: the culprit of the lagging is shader compilation. Indeed, one trick is to load all the shader materials that will be used while being rendered by the camera. I haven't tested it yet, but I've heard that you can make your loading screen almost opaque (254 alpha) and run whatever you want behind it to hide things gracefully. I discovered this issue quite late in the game development, and the optimization is not trivial. The best I can do is leave a note on the game page, hoping that players understand and are a bit forgiving of the disruption.

You're not alone in considering the game too hard for newcomers, but I appreciate the time you're willing to spend to attempt it. I just hope that this genre receives more love, and I'll see what I can do in future fighting games that I make.

Thanks for attempting to play despite having a non-optimal machine for the game.

Unfortunately, I couldn't help much. I tested it on two MacBooks that I borrowed, and it seems that the Retina display consumes extra processing power due to the additional pixels it processes on the screen. Sometimes, it even crashed the entire machine (oops). The one with a Silicon chip can run the game with okay graphics. I'm sharing this information for your future reference when testing 3D games on a MacBook. But these issues are not your fault, and you shouldn't feel guilty about lowering my accessibility score.

I understand that it's difficult to introduce a niche genre but at least you tried and I appreciate it.

This is indeed a fighting game between two slimes.

Haha you gotta get gud and find a strat for it. It's really hard, and you will need to learn what each move does on the fly.

Like many 3D games, this game is suffering frame hitches as well. Clearly, I have investigated it and it is the shader compilation problem. The fix is tricky though.

Let me tell you that it is a worthy entry.  It is a strong showing of what I have learned about Godot. It is quite likely that these are all I have learned as a solo dev so far but I am getting better and better as a solo dev!

Unfortunatly, I tried to play your game but were not able to find it.

Thanks! My cute slimes will be happy to hear that too!

Thank you as well! Without your feedback, those VFX wouldn't be as nice.

I actually gave up on creating a tutorial and difficulty settings because I was sure I wouldn't have time for them, haha.

I accept the fate that this game will only reach a limited audience, but I think that's okay as long as I'm aware of it.

Thank you! I spent 80% of my jam time on that, so they better be good, haha.

Thanks for playing!

I admit that I should have informed the players to utilize more evades and emergency evades to dodge enemy attacks and initiate their attacks. I will also consider rebalancing their cooldowns to make the game more enjoyable.
I hope these are in line with your feedback.

Thanks for playing!

Fighting games can be quite intense, and catching an opponent in a combo is part of the strategy.

I really appreciate that you have the patience to figure out how the combat works, as I know the game is lacking in some tutorials and skill explanations.

Thanks for playing!

To be honest, I have nerfed the AI multiple times, but sometimes it may still be too aggressive.

This is also my first time creating a 3D fighting game, which is one of my dream game genres. I believe there is still a lot of room for improvement to be explored and addressed in the future.

grasping theories, igniting your curiosity

The spell casting system really intrigued me but sorry that I couldn't go pass round 2 😣

At some point I cast one spell too many times that I have forgotten (pun intended) the other spell.

The gliding gave me Zelda vibes 😋

Completed all 17 spots, what a nice immersive game!
(Shield up and dash towards the bombs!😆)

This gave me Pokémon Ranger hype!

I am not mod so do not take my advice as authoritative but I do agree that it is a grey zone. Someone could have submitted a game made before if it somehow fits the theme nicely or instruct your whole game studio to work for the game. I think the intention is to encourage the creator to create as many new things as possible. If you feel like yourself simply swapping out something/re-skinning from the old game then probably it is not ideal for the jam.

My personal take is that do not see this jam as a competition and the winner should not be incentified. Try to always create a game that has some new elements in it whether it is new genre, new mechanism, new set of assets. In your case I would say just have a new gameplay mechanism is enough to justify even you reuse all the assets.

The controls ironically look natural to me because it feels like underwater... I just use W and swim with mouse and it works fine. Luckily the area is not too large so I am able to guess where is the mural area ^^

Nice audio!
My team's game is about rotating tile-based polygons and with dynamic sound effects as well! Hope that you can check it out ^^

For whoever plans to complete this game, please use desktop build and spare at least 45 mins so you won't feel frustrated.

Despite the super-lengthy gameplay and my unfortunate browser crash, I really like the game idea and the puzzle design!

The tip is really to remember all the possible shapes according to the corresponding number and pattern.

Basically, in C key:  C  D  E♭  G  A♭  C

That is a pretty high score for a beginner in jam mode! Congrats!
Jam mode can be more challenging in later rounds but sadly we were running out of time to design it further :(

Thanks! Your game actually motivated me to work harder because you set the bar so high so early >_<

Hope that you enjoyed it!
Thanks to my team member Noskire taking the developer role so that I can focus on the art side without worrying too much on codings

I am glad that you notice it! I am using a Japanese pentatonic scale called "IN" Scale.
Pentatonic scale has a weird phenomenon  that even you simply play the notes by going up or down the scale it will still sound nice as long as they are in the same key.

The game does not have other visual mode but I did consider some colour blind cases. Below is the colour palette I used and the simulations of some colour blindness.

Swap these 2 and you are good to go!

The graphics may be "unusual" but the I think the game idea is really brilliant!!
The fun part is that there are so many possibilities that you can try making this a good puzzle game!

Thanks for playing!

Really sorry that I couldn't play your game because I cannot play horror genre at all (T . T)

Congratulations!

I think even my best try needs at least 6 attempts >_<

Thanks for playing!

The physical mastermind boardgame uses pegs which look like orbs when placed so it inspired me to use that for this jam!

Thank you!

The orb finding process may be a nuisance but to put it in a positive way it is the brute-force prevention mechanism, haha!

Thanks for trying!

The game is meant to be relaxing so don't stress yourself and enjoy the generated arts :)

Thanks for trying out the game!

I hope that your 5 mins were worth for your enjoyment :D

Thanks for playing!

I will focus more on the UI design and tutorials to reduce confusion and ambiguity next time >_<

Nice game! I like the idea of using black hole to force the player to go through certain path

Wow! a very unique puzzle game that requires less raging but more planning. The game is fun regardless of the simple graphics. The only downside I think is that the direction keys are a bit too sensitive when placing circles.

The art looks very consistent and professional and the game mechanism is solid despite the short gameplay.

I personally do not like creepy game but this game is totally playable. The game design is clean and all the things move fast but in-controlled. Perfect for a game jam game!
