There's a crazy amount of features here! The fact the world is big, you can zoom in and out and left and right to see ahead is very cool.  Love being able to upgrade unit via buying equipment.

Unfortunately I didn't read one of comments below where the developer said you can press a spacebar to make the caravan stop.  Instead I spend half the time yelling at my caravan, because who ever is driving kept automatically bolts out of town leaving me no time to equip anything. I usually ended up chasing him half way across the map just so I can press the horse icon to make him stop, by then some jerks has jumped him and is beating the crap out of him. (and he deserved it, dammit)

Needless to say, your caravan driver and I are currently not on speaking terms. But it is a very fascinating game with tons of details, graphic and audio both compliment the gameplay really well.  I can see it being a hard game to quit especially if the developer do decide to make equipping easier. Either equipping can be done during town or if the caravan simply stay put until the user tells it to go would do it. :)

Haha. Great feedback. I agree with you! We will definitely make a few small improvements after the voting period.

not bad!

Great entry with outstanding art. Especially the caravan. I think it should be a camel, but it looks like an adorable alpaca! :D

Definitely one of my favorites in this jam!

Developer

Thank you so much!!!

Great job!
I had a problem that I had to get used to that the caravan would not stop on reaching the city and go further, but other than that very nice game, the visuals and mechanics everything felt really good.

Thank you!

I'm really impressed with this - don't often see RTS-style games for game jams! I scored 485 on my 3rd try. It was pretty difficult overall, and I found it hard to micro my units - they weren't very responsive and it was hard to pick out individual units. I found it easier to select separate units from the interface at the bottom to micro them away when health was low, although this was guesswork as their health isn't displayed unless you've clicked on them. I also wish I could scroll through the map using the mouse rather than WASD.

I'm not sure what impact buying gear had on the fights - overall I think it was a little too challenging (I've found that games should ideally be on the easier side for jams). I really like the art and the interface is quite well done - just needs some quality of life RTS features we take for granted nowadays. Nice job!! :)

Thank you for the feedback! The scope was a bit crazy. I wish we had more time to test and refine those inputs.

Fun game to play. Really enjoyed the concept of trying to defend the caravan along its journey.

The art and audio of the game mix well together. Gameplay is fun although I had no idea how the objects I bought helped as my guys always died.

Controlling units was sometimes a problem as the click to move did not register. Combat felt like I had no say in it, but that could be the point.

Overall, an enjoyable game to play.

I think a better tutorial would have been a big improvement. It sounds like you weren't equipping the items you purchased.

I'm glad you liked it despite that!!!

Good job, fun and addictive.

I’m impressed how much you got into the game.

I found the selection/control a bit frustrating as you pointed out, and it would be nice if the caravan did not immediately start moving when leaving a town.

Great work!

thank you! I really wanted to add more enemies but I ran out of time. I think If I have another week I would have rewrote the selection, made equipping easier and added more enemies.

Space bar starts and stops the caravan, makes it way easier to control. Need more of a tutorial in my next jam.

Very nice artwork, and game mechanics. I can tell a lot of effort was put into this! The path finding and movement of soldiers is fluid and looks great. Equipping items is a bit tedious and took longer than I would have liked, but that is very minor.

I'm impressed, nice game!

Thank you! That means a lot. I had the high score in nomads skys for a bit there. It's so polished and the UI is really clean. I want to get to that level of uniform theme and design.
