Super cool concept! id love to see it with more time for adding content
I really like this concept!
Frantically managing your resource to optimize your route under a time crunch seems like it has a lot of potential, and I think this could be a really good game with more time put into it. There's clearly potential for added mechanics and a more refined game loop.
Great work!
The art was super nice, the animations were well done too!
A race against the time. Just wish there was a restart option if
nice concept on the theme, i like it
It's cute that your blocks can also collect coins for you!
One thing - zoom is unrestricted and can flip :D Fun little game, some in game tutorial would be nice.
I want to start by saying that I am a strict critic, so I can get rather cherrypicky, and I can be harsh, and for that I apologize.
First, what you did right. The art's pretty competent, player doesn't feel terrible to control.
However, coins have collision for whatever reason, level design feels lazy and slapped together, the timer doesn't work, and I didn't even know what the dice did till I read the comments.
Don't take this as a bad review... rather, take it as a checklist of areas to improve. Game jams are hard and the time restraint is brutal. Try to lower your scope more until you have more experience.
Sorry for leaving a long-ass review, I appreciate your work, and have a good day.
More games should have user controlled zoom!
As you have all mensioned, this game has a few bugs and could be polished. As this was my first game in Godot I had to research quite a lot and gain the experience I lacked. So I ran out of time in the end (it is anyways a game jam). Expanding this idea may reult on a very interesting game however. In the end I am quite happy of the results (with work to still be done). Thank you all for the nice comments.
pretty cool little game. I think the zoom in and out is a nice touch, i totally thought though if i kept zooming out i might see an easter egg or some hidden secret. overall cool.
nice game, lacks respawn button tho, rolling the dice doesn't really feel so important here since you can do it always and not run out of blocks, could probably work on this idea more tho and get some better results
nice graphics)
I love the art style and movement.
The graphics are well made but in terms of gameplay there isn't a lot to do and also if you try to collect a coin you get pushed away? The dice doesn't really have a purpose because when I run out of blocks to place I can just re roll
The movement for the platformer is almost PERFECT IN EVRY WAY
Tho i agree that there isn't much to do :/
Like what does rolling the dice even do???
I like the platforming movement, but there isn't much to do.
honestly i didnt quite get what you were supposed to do
Interesting concept but poor realization. For first you can't finish the game, there are only 5 coins. Then dice isn't have enough impact on gameplay because it's infinite. Also you can zoom in and out infinitly (though the way camera reverts when you zoom in too much is fun). Movement of character and control's layout feels a little uncomfortable. Also you can't reset when you die, so you have to reset page to try again. In the end with a lot of polishing it can be a great game!
I loved the concept! It could have used more polish (scoreboard moving vertically with player, no play again button when you die, your blocks being essentially infinite cause you could just reroll) but hey, it was a game jam game. I didn't get time to put polish on mine myself. Great work!
