Once I got the hang of it I really enjoyed it! :D

A bit lost at first, but great concept with very cool artstyle! Well done!

A Yahtzee style combat game.  Not particularly innovative, but it works.

Art  looks good. Music was a bit rough, and sounds were ok.

Screen did not fit into the browser window.

Needed a while to understand the mechanic. Was a good little game, just could explain itself a little bit better. Graphics and audio were nice with the exception of the trumpet sounding hover and click sounds for the buttons. They didnt feel fitting for the rest of the audio and confused me.

I was confused at the beginning; for example, "Is it automatically going to deal damage?" or "What does this combo/ally/enemy do?". It had some issue about the text overlap and hard to read and also in the dice selection, as if clicking all the dices was always the best way to deal damage, without having some drawbacks to it. Good concept of the theme, but should've had more diversity in terms of functionalities (either in the dices or the combat mechanisms).

Good graphics and sounds overall!

Cool little game with beautiful art. I enjoyed the strategy of it even if I still don't fully understand everything this game has to offer. When you restart after dying the music overlaps and it was difficult to tell when and how much damage I take since the health bar was hard to see in the top corner, but those are minor and easy fixes. Great job!

Liked the artwork & creativity but could have used a little explanation or tutorial in game.

Nice game!

Gorgeous art! took a while to get, though

I clicked on this one immediately after seeing the artwork. Gorgeous sprites!

I enjoyed the quirky presentation and overall weirdness. Presenting this as a "long lost" retro game was a fun touch.

I ended up not getting the hang of it. How many rolls do you get? It seemed to change all the time and I couldn't figure out why. When I finally clicked the Help button and found it was actually combos and how the dice work, I was confused.... why are 1s and 5s different? Are all other numbers zero damage? It was really unclear.

Plenty of good player decision points here. Which dice to lock/roll, which buffs/companions to take, etc. I just wish I understood what was going on a little better.

Oh, and the health values were really hard to see.

But still a really cool lil game y'all made here. Looks pretty good for just 48 hours. Keep making games!

We probably should have wrote this somewhere but the game is hugely based off an old dice game called Farkle. I'm glad you posted the specific questions you had I'm going to try to update the description to make those things more clear. I actually worked for 20 hours out of the 48 during the jam so there's so many little things I deeply regret not being able to fix or clear up. Thank you for playing :)

I've played Farkle! A long time ago and I remember being adequately confused then, too!

Yeah, working during a 48 or even 72 hour jam can be rough. Great results all things considered

Particularly difficult to get a hang of, but once you do, oh boy is it fun. The combo system didn't feel very intuitive to me, but that may be because I don't play any games involving dice combos. I did eventually get into the rhythm however, and it was absolutely worth the time and effort. Some systems still allude me, like the number list for each ally.

Thanks so much I appreciate you taking the time to understand the game. Our team is the worst for making games with (I think) cool mechanics that are way too abstract and not explained nearly well enough. Maybe next year the theme will be “Tutorial” lol.

what???

Art style is amazing and the game is super fun!

Submitted(+2)

The art is amazing, gameplay was a bit confusing, I found myself just clicking random buttons at points. But it was fun once I got the hang of it, nice job!

best game ever

Really beautiful art and polish!

Nice art. When the game started, I didn't think I will enjoy it as much as I would, but the simple premise just got under my skin. I ended up playing for half hour. Not much more could be expected from a game jam entry.

I saw some art of this game in the discord, and dammmm soo goood! Nice job

The visual design is incredible! Definitely a little confusing, but having the rules on hand helps. A tutorial mode might be useful if you want to expand on this idea :)

Developer

Thank you. The characters and aesthetic has been bubbling in my head for months now.

A little confusing at first but its a really enjoyable game and the music is really good as well.

If you have the time please check out and leave a comment on our game as well.

Thank you for the compliment on the music! Was a bit scared to have so much low end on a song for a video game, but I'm very happy I didn't take that out! :)
