Enjoable word game, I had fun with it! The witch and her tutorial is very cute!

I enjoyed this game, the artwork was nice, and I'm a big fan of word games.
Completing loops with only a few long words was very satisfying.

I did however find it a little confusing and unintuitive to understand what would cause a loop to be completed.
I beleive that a loop longer than the circle size can be completed if the final word starts with the red letters and ends with the beginning of the circle?
Also since there are only 4 possible start words, 4 different solutions can just be learnt ahead of time so you don't have to work them out in the game, I like the elemental theme but perhaps there could be a bit more variation here.

Overall this was a great concept and fun to play, the music was nice. Overall a great game that I think could be made even more awesome if it wasn't constrained by the limited timeframe of a game jam :).

Well, I think I got the idea overall — it looks cool! Unfortunately my English vocabulary isn’t that strong, and for some reason, the game didn’t accept some of the words I tried. Style is nice!

Saw this game on the stream - not trying to advertise here, but you and I had very similar game concepts, and I was really interested to see your take! I think the game loop you have is rather addicting, and it's complimented by really calming music and satisfying sound effects. It's clever how you have a maximum limit on the number of letters, which forces the player to start thinking about what word/words they can use that not only start but end with the right letters before they run out of letters to use - a pretty smart way to force the player to make strategic decisions. The only thing I would say is that it seems like there aren't a lot of starting words, which tends to limit your ideas of what kind of words you can continue off of that, and it makes the game feel a it repetitive. I'm a sucker for the witch theme, so I really love how you not only came up with this word puzzle concept, but you themed it around casting spells, which was really clever! It's a short and enjoyable game that's well done; seems like whatever black magic you put into making this really paid off!

Thanks, Lili. It was a pretty calming experience!

I liked your game. There are a few things though, mainly that the web version did not recognised my "i" key (I am using a Turkish keyboard, probably because of this. the downloaded version worked ok.) I'd also like to see more starting words (Earth, fire, ice, water was all I got, the word "Spell" on trailer did not even appear once) as the game gets a bit repetitive after a while.

But overall, I liked its calming atmosphere. Cheers!

Nice fun relaxing little word game. I love it! Would have been nice if there were more starting words.

Very nice take on the theme! I am not a word guy but it was fun trying to find words that would fit the loop! Nice job!

So cool! I don't think I've ever been sabotaged by my own command of the English language before...

I hope you try and rate my entry as well!

This was such a nice twist to the game jam theme! It was super fun! Great job!

Nice work! Slick animations. I thought the instructions were clear, and the system handles wrong words well. There might be an issue with "EARTH" and "FIRE" where it's only highlighting the last letter instead of the last two.

It took me so long to figure out how to type, kept trying to start the word with the entire element :p
Glad I kept trying, such a fun little word game, really addicting.
I think I would make the tutorial more hands-on though, make the first circle together maybe? (for people like me)
Great game!

Loved the game! Saw it played on Ezra’s stream and had to give it a go because I enjoy word games. This is a great one :”)

Fun little game! I was wondering if it was going to change after winning but i didn't see a difference

Yeah I didn't really have any great ideas for progression. That's why I decided just to make a chill game where the player can play and collect points for however long they're having fun and then quit :)

Laziness or great design? You decide!

This is such a creative and fun game! The fact that points are just there for enjoyment is really nice, and this game does a super good job feeling comfy and cozy!! I had a lot of fun just typing the longest words I could think of, and trying to close the loop at the end. It all feels really well polished, and like a lot of though and care went into it. The witch character is really fun and nice as well!

For a little bit of feedback, I would be that it's a little bit unclear how the circle is supposed to close, because it looks like you need to type the first three letters of the starting word to close the circle, but just having the first letter of the first word at the end of the last word would close it as well. Maybe something that could be cool would be allowing the circle to be closed by only using 1 letter of the first word, but giving extra points the more letters you use? I also think that it'd be cool if once the circle was completed, the common letters of the two words were combined, so that it makes one big continuous circle (ex on your screenshot of a completed circle it shows plateearth, but having the last e removed on plate to make platearth)

Anyhow, these little things did not reduce my enjoyment, I just thought I'd give some ideas, overall, really great game all around, good work!!

Thanks for the ideas! The witch does mention the ways you can complete the loop when you are about to win the first time but I agree that it should be clearer. I was supposed to at least highlight the golden characters in different shades from each other to make it a little more explicit, but I managed to forget before running out of time >_<

Thank you for the very kind words! :)

Super fun to play ! Such a good idea to fit the theme of the jam !!

A very cute little game with a simple but interesting premise! Finding words that start (and later end) in the correct letters is really fun and rewarding, and the atmosphere of the game is also really chill!

A great and cute game, polished really well, it seems nearly complete! The concept is simple yet very effective, and still  fun to play around with. This is the first time that I saw this mechanic of closing the loop of the spell, very cool!

Really liked the cozy feeling of the game :). Closing the spell was surprisingly harder that I thought.

Very neatly made game.
