Cool idea with really neat implementation and amazing art!
I enjoyed this! A sound cue when you close a loop that's based off of how much you scored with it could give some really good feedback to the player. But having to anticipate the arc of the enemies was fun! I got a highscore of 2534!
Very Cool! Wish I had a touch screen to play this with!
Very cool game! However, I’m missing the background… :(
The background is blank on the web version due to limitations of Godot's web renderer. It does appear in the download version.
Once I figured out how the loop mechanic worked, it felt rewarding, but the detection was a bit strict at times, especially under pressure.
It remember me to pokemon ranger!!
Nice little game! I like the hand-drawn art style and the faces on the little slime aliens. I think the looping mechanic would feel a little better if the loops automatically formed without having to release the mouse. In any case, great job!
Cute little game, I enjoyed it!
Cute little game, I enjoyed it!
Really nice
Cute graphics. I got to 1000 points.
Despite how the game rewards more points for drawing small loops, I still tended to draw large circles around the entire screen because of how effective it is, so that I can survive as much as possible. A potential idea to improve this might be to add a flashy UI indication of the points awarded and a single-word text describing how effective the circle was; it would motivate me to try and make smaller circles.
There is low visual/audio feedback. It would be interesting to see more juice all around, especially for an arcade-structured game.
Nice lil game, glad to have played :)
Reminds me of pokemon rangers. Cute art and great music. 2051 score 😎😎
(More visual feedback would have been great but still great project)
I like the idea of drawing! The music and sound was done very nicely as well. Some improvement would be to work more on the gameplay loop as there is no way of loosing.
Thanks! It is actually possible to lose if you take too much damage from enemies/asteroids hitting you.
Then I belive a healthbar to show it would make it perfect!
It does have a health bar. It's the green bar at the top of the screen.
Hmmm? It might be due to the scaling being weird for me, but I completely missed it. Maybe next time you can add more visual indication, such as your screen getting redder.
The loop detection is really not permissive, so with the speed it's really hard to clear the obstacles. Also I don't see a break confirmation or the lightspeed effect like on the screenshots so maybe this didn't make the cut ?
Cool art however, the whole chalkboard theme is nicely executed.
Not sure what you mean by "break confirmation". The lightspeed effect doesn't show up in the web build due to limitations of Godot's web rendering, but if you download the native build it's there.
I meant this image, I don't see a "visual confirmation" when I successfully loop an asteroid.
That's not a screenshot. That's the cover image.
I know, I meant that I thought that it would appear like that in-game when you circle an asteroid.
Nice idea! The objects attack a bit too fast though!!! It's difficult to keep up with them, especially with the game strict way of counting a loop!
Very cute game
Cute aesthetics! I think the implementation could do with a bit more polish though. The game is a bit strict on what it considers a valid loop which is a bit annoying when you have to draw it a lot in succession. Also it would be good to add some animation and sound effects when the asteroids and stuff are destroyed instead of just plopping out of existence. Even a basic tween of the alpha/scale would work. Good attempt regardless!
I loved the art style. It stands out compared to the other games with mouse loops.
A lot of games with mouse loops. You have a very different take on them than I do - also awesome!
Ah! We used a similar mechanic in our game, but in a totally different setting! Super cool! :)
