How does your game fit the theme?
In Shredmill, you skate across an endless, crumbling loop. With every lap, more of the track collapses behind you, turning the loop ahead into a perilous deathtrap.

One of my fav games so far! Cool use of a theme, amazing visuals and feedback. Very fun overall!

Fun use of a looping level, the shop and randomized items each cycle add some cool depth!

Enviably authentic. ^___^

Clever as frick idea, executed wondrously. Currently no. 9 in the leaderboard, am definitely going to come back and try to claim the no. 1 spot.

My only complaint is that the coins mechanic seems slightly useless? As far as I could tell, they're only used for buying upgrades, but you're always going to have enough money to buy one of the three.

Amazing art and sound, and astounding polish

Wow that is astoundingly polished! art, SFX, animation is all so high quality. Only notes are that the wrench repairing spikes is a tough lesson to learn, since it happens right Infront of you it just means a smack in the face at least once. Also I feel like the pickaxe and wrench could have a couple extra frames so they don't vanish outright, just wiggle room like iFrames

amazing game!

super stylish!!!

Wow super creative and well explored idea while still simple, I love the additions of the powers and the shop, adds a lot to the loop. Hope to see this one in the top 100!

Very fun game with a simple gameplay loop that doesn't seem to get boring after a long time playing it. I had to stop myself from playing so that I could still check out others, the color scheme and spritework really convey the tone of the game very well, very retro Halloweeny and is very reminiscent of great games that have a more simple color scheme but still look phenomenal! The little cutscene at the beginning wasn't much in terms of narrative but it was just enough for what it was. 8.7/10

Good as always, but at this point that is not a surprise. Y'all always come up with some really fun takes on these themes. Now for the review.
Creativity: I really liked how impactful each loop felt. I was often trying to recall previous loops to try and get an edge on the hazards. I think having the player be responsible for the deterioration of their own environment is a really cool concept.

Enjoyment: Pretty darn fun, not much more to say. The game feels really good to play, and I spent a bunch of time trying to break into the top players....it did not happen. I do want to say one of my favorite little design choicews that y'all made, was having the jump damage a larger square of the loop. Created a nice bit of tension and disincentivized spamming.

Narrative: I never got passed loop for, but the intro cutscene was really pretty.

Artwork: The game is just super pretty. There isn't even all that much I can say on it. It is really just pretty, and readable and fun to look at. I especially loved the protagonist's animations.

Audio: Just like the art, it is no surprise that this game also sounds really really good.

No feedback or suggestions really. Just a great time.

Excellent game as always from Jamadoo! The polish is, as usual, spot‑on, but the game design is shining more than ever. I loved the take on the theme and how each loop has a sense of permanence, making you think not only about the micro decisions (avoiding stuff, picking up collectibles) but also the macro, crafting a good route to avoid making things harder for yourself on the next lap.

Amazing game ! I really loved it, the theme is perfectly interprated :)

Can't wait to see your game in the GMTK's video !

Very fun very well rounded arcade game! The visuals are real nice, I love how fluidly animated all the pixel art is. Your artists did a great job! The music was pretty good too, the concept / gameplay was good, and the execution was amazing

Very sad you can't do tricks on the skateboard, imagine being able to press space once more in the air to do a kickflip or smthing which does nothing aside from looking cool

The thing the game lacks most though is narrative, which, in all honesty, is a very stupid and dumb rating criteria to have in a 4 day long game jam. But alas, until we start a coup, I have to rate it on that category. The story feels pretty mid and forced, told through a singular cutscene and the description. Eh. Not the best. I mean, I'm not sure what I expect from a 4 day game jam entry from anyone, forcing narrative just means its not possible to make a perfect 5/5 game anymore, because good narrative drains so much of your time you're forced to compromise elsewhere. I hate it. I hate the new rating criteria. Honestly the rating criteria worked fine before. I expect to see a lot of games in this jam that are forced to add story when they really really don't need it (like this one), which is so bloody horrible and restricts game design freedom by far. Game devs are able to do so much more when they don't have to worry about story in a jam.

What was I doing again? Oh right, game review, yeah  the game is good all around (except for narrative grrr i hate the new gmtk rules) good job team

wanna form a coup together team

Absolutely brilliant game and incredibly fun. Love the music, art, sfx, and gameplay loop! Could find myself coming back over and over tbh

That was a really cool experience, riding the loop like that :D

I realized after the second go around that my past actions had severe consequences when a huge part of the way down was just flat out missing. Great experience :D

Had a lot of fun with this one! Played a few times to set a good score on the leaderboard. RNG does impact a run, but the game still feels balanced and skill based. Would absolutely love to see this expanded on as a full release!

Really Cool! I like that the power ups like wings only last one loop, it makes sure you are actually getting better at the game, instead of just getting more power ups
