duplicate the sprite, put it on a lower z index, offset it a bit, and set the modulate to pure black with alpha around 80 :)

thanks for the feedback everyone :) for me, the spirit of the game is more of a silly experience where you sit back and watch the chaos. i'm making some changes to make that more clear

oh, that's a strange bug I haven't seen. seems like people are having issues with quick time events so I've disabled it for now

You're right, it's generated in the engine by animating the position, rotation, and scale of the sprite. I did it in Godot but it should be doable in Unity as well
