I really enjoyed playing your game! The concept of climbing buildings to fix air conditioners and collect cats is both fun and unique. I've been following the development on Telegram, and it's been exciting to see the game come together. Great work so far!
Very good work on the ambiance! GG!
Immaculate vibes on this one! I don't think I have ever been this immersed in a jam game before, damn. The characters were interesting and they revealed just enough about the world and themselves that I wanted to know more! Also props to whoever did the audio, it helped a ton in that regard.
I know it's not that type of game, but I am thinking maybe a stamina bar and resting spots would make me feel more in line with the poor guy climbing through the walls. Or something that pushes me mechanically into that kind of mind state. And maybe the stamina bar gets bigger the more you advance through the game to get the message of hope during dire times that I believe the game is going for.
Also, really good work using environmental arrows signs to point the way. I can definitely see this world being expanded into a bigger game that explores the lore of the city. Would love to meet other climbers! Such a great submission, congrats! And yes, you can bet I got all the kittens :D
Thank you so much for all the kind words! Put a smile on our whole team’s faces :)
I didn’t want to add some demanding mechanics because it could ruin the immersion, but adding a progression with safe spaces and stamina sounds like the only mechanic that could encance the immersion! Better connection with character, better feel of progression (apart from AC count), even locking some of the earlier areas from exploring too soon, guiding through the quests in a better way.
Thank you for suggesting, if we decide to go bigger with this I’ll definetely consider :)
Great game!
I think your team have nailed this feeling of living in an anthill-like-buildings. Characters have personalities that we can see even with these small interactions with them. And it is also looks very polished! I liked the feeling that I can get lost in these buildings. The only thing that I wish you have added - visual distinction between working conditioners and not :)
Keep up the good work, looking forward for other games from your team.
Thanks a lot!
Now AC units lose light when they’re fixed, but it’s definitely not enough. Will patch after voting is over, thanks for the suggestion!
This game is so beautiful! It feels sort of like if Stray was done in watercolor if that makes any sense? And the stories and characters all feel so personal. If you work on this in the future, I’d love to see this with a larger map that you go back and forth across running errands for people!
Thank you, we are flattered by comparison with Stray :)
Also, really cool that you’ve mentioned watercolors, because it, in a sense, makes perfect sense, as our main artist draws A LOT of watercolors (some of the works - https://www.artstation.com/evathewolf/albums/8831222 ). So, even if the game does not feature watercolors, probably it shows a bit in the way she worked with colors.
The Game is super nice and cozy, but there is a Bug sometimes that let the camera move away from the character :(
Thank you! Unfortunately it’s a performance issue on some devices that would be easy to fix if we had just a little more time :(
Same reason we had to delete web build last minute, was even worse there, with audio issues on top. I hope you could still enjoy the game, and you can come back after the voting ends!
Cool aesthetic, chill music. Quest locations were a bit odd, sometimes I found the thing I needed before I knew I needed it.
Nicely done!
Thank you for playing!
We made all quests super simple, without any exptra requirements, plus tried to remove some of the backtracking. In that sense, we’re okay with player getting some of the items earlier on :)
Thank you, it was a pleasure playing your game! It's interesting to talk to the characters and the cats are very cute. You can see that a lot of work has been done. I was a bit lacking some zest, special climbing mechanics.
PS I found out about the jam from your Telegram channel, and participated too, thanks for the tip! :)
Glad you enjoyed and also glad I drew someone to the gamejam!
As about mechanics, we didn’t want to ruin immersion in this world, and also didn’t come up with fitting mechanics in time. So, left it just be a recreational journey along the Wall.
For me, the coolest part of this game is its ability to capture the feeling of being an industrial climber perfectly. The atmosphere has a melancholic tone that really speaks to me. I also love how each building feels like it has its own story, making the city feel alive.
My only minor complaint is that I got sometimes lost when asked to backtrack. However, I was able to find all the AC units and didn't need to backtrack to find any remaining ones.
Thank you! Capturing some specific vibes was our main goal for this gamejam, glad we delivered :)
Such a charming game! I especially love the music. More games need collectible cats.
Thank you!
Enjoyed the game. Also really good art.
Thanks!
Cool, even community memes, haha! Love it!
Here is one from us:
I like how immersive and calm this game is. The music and style really adds to the atmosphere.
Thanks a lot!
It's just a great game. The music, sounds and art hit the heart.
Happy to hit the hearts of players!
You can feel the huge amount of work and love put into this game. I’m really excited about art, especially neon signs. Would be nice to see a sequel with more mechanics.
Thank you, we indeed did put a lot of effort in this… Now we need a second vacation :D
Short, sweet (even bitter-sweet taking into account dystopian vibes and hopelessness of some residents) and incredibly atmospheric. I think I messed up one quest order by getting beer first, but it didn't softlock me or anything, so all's good.
+ points for cats
++ points for the bike bit :D
Thank you for all the kind words! Bittersweet but with a hint of hope is what we aimed for :)
Cool vibes, really digging the sound design of the game. At some point, I missed the dialogue and wasn't sure where to go. Having a quest log of some kind would have been nice.
Thank you! We would also like to have some waypoints, but as always with gamejams, you need to sacrifice a lot… This time it was multiple endings and direction/quest helper :(
Glad you enjoyed it nevertheless!
The absolute V I B E S of this game: music, art style, almost meditative gameplay. And yes, there is an ending screen, and it's beautiful.
Thanks! Happy you’ve enjoyed it :)
Well, its a masterpiece
Honoured to carry this badge, thanks!
Incredible artwork, lovely interactions, soothing atmosphere. Great job! Would love to have a minimap or otherwise some means of understanding where I’m located, - I spent some several minutes trying to find the guy who wanted a beer, and several more for the give wanting a knife.
Found all 20 air conditioners and the closed ladder going up, but couldn’t figure out how to open it, or any indication whether I even could do this. Not sure if that was end of the game or not :)
Anyways, congrats on your submission! Stylish as usual :)
I see you have a chainsaw. You should find a guy who will trade it for the roof key.
Thank you for playing! I added a small end-game spoiler on game’s page for those who are stuck at one of the last quests as well!
