I love this game! It's very cute and surprisingly engaging.
Nice job (my record was 2:40 and 1452 notes)

Very fun. Good choice of composition for the scaling soundtrack and nicely excecuted :)

i LOVE me an interactive audio system! and the penguin is so cute!! I do wish the music looped more seamlessly, and I wish the SFX were in tune with the music, but this is me being nitpicky because I love interactive audio and I can see its potential to do even more for your game.

Developer

Thanks! Yea, the loop definitely could've been executed a little better in hindsight, and there's definitely alot of polish that could've been added to make our game better. Thanks for playing our game!

I liked the theming, it had a lot of charm! I would maybe tweak the difficulty curve, but good work overall!

Developer

Thanks! Yea, the difficulty curve was the hardest thing to get right in the time that we had. If you come back to the itch after we update, we're already working on a rebalanced version that allows players to get farther, buffs weapons, etc. Thanks again for playing!

Fun little game and good concept! One thing I mentioned to my team was that scale could be interpreted musically, so good job doing that and incorporating the scaling of powers too!

Cool idea to add instruments to a vampire survivor game! Great job on acomplishing to finish such a hard concept in this jam

Developer

Thank you very much!

SO CUTE!! This game was super fun and I loved all the different upgrades and the soundtrack to match the gameplay. It gets a little hard, nearly impossible once the enemies keep spawning all around and you can't avoid them so I was only ever able to get about 250 - 275 each time I played but it was still so much fun!

Developer(+1)

Credit goes to Tauntybird for all the art drawn :)

The difficulty balancing is something we're improving on right now! After the jam finishes, we'll have an updated version that has significantly better scaling. You're welcome to come check it out again then!

The characters are so cute! And it was refreshing to see a survival game where the music gradually gets more exciting.

Hello, composer from the game "Crescendo" here! I absolutely loved this cute penguin game! Those blue whole notes definitely got me in the end after I was on a streak of about 4 minutes or so haha. I thought "In the Hall of the Mountain King" was an excellent choice for a soundtrack that starts off small and gradually grows more and more chaotic just like the game does! Definitely enjoyed this game, and now I'm gonna go try and beat my record now haha.

Developer(+1)

Haha thank you so much for playing! Yesss as soon as we thought of that soundtrack we could NOT get the idea out of our head and we forced our composer to make an insane cover for it LOL. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, just as a heads up we are aware the game is quite difficult / impossible after the 4 minute mark so we are rebalancing it and making it more fun while still challenging and will update a new and improved version as soon as we are allowed to!

That's great to hear! I look forward to the post jam version of this game then, and the composer definitely did an amazing job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! I will definitely pass on your kind words to him!

Cool penguin run away game!

Developer

Thank you! :D

I'd by this off Steam for 2.99

Developer

Haha that's some high praise, thank you so much for playing and leaving feedback!

Fun game, the penguin is cute too. Also the first musical interpretation of the theme that I've seen.

Haha thanks so much for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the game! I agree, Major is super cute!

Very interesting game! And quite enjoyable. I like how you had to modify major to survive.

My only feedback I have is to provide the player will tutorialization to help get into the game easier. I found myself a little confused when clicking the first instrument and then dying directly afterwards.

Congrats on completing the jam!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing and leaving feedback! 100%, we did not have time to work on the tutorials during the jam, but in the future it would be nice to do so! Thanks so much!!

adorable little game! though I do wish it was a little easier.

Developer

Thank you!! Yeah we did some last minute balancing that made it way too hard ^^' We're fixing it right now and will update the game after the jam to be better! Thanks so much for playing and leaving feedback!

Perfectly fine Vampire Survivors clone. I liked the musical theming! Might have been interesting to add some more musical elements to the gameplay itself in order to set the game apart from other games of the genre, though I'm not sure how that would work. Maybe a rhythm game / vampire survivors crossover? Anyway, good job!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and leaving feedback! Totally agree, we have a bunch of ideas we didn't get to because of the short jam time :( But I really want to implement them eventually and also come up with some new music related mechanic that is unique from VS. The rhythm game idea is intriguing, I don't think we considered putting that in with this one o-o Thanks for giving us some great ideas and feedback, I really appreciate it!

I enjoyed this a lot!  Like others have said, I agree the music getting more intense as you power up is a nice touch, and the purple insta-kill enemies feel bad.  I wanted to keep going!

Developer

Thanks a bunch for playing, so glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, we did some last minute balancing that made the game too hard near the 4-5 minute mark :') We are tuning it down in our local version of the game and we'll update the game after the jam with (hopefully) better balancing. Thanks so much for taking time to leave feedback, I really appreciate it!

Major is very cute. Clarinet and flute are total ass. Fish heals 30 HP but player has no idea what that means, when 30 HP in the description of the Fish is the only HP number even shown. Instant gameover at 4min+ by bigass purple guy death squads isn't super fun. Fit to the jam's theme is pretty tenuous, but the musical theme itself is very stylish and works well. The dynamic audio is neat.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yea, balancing in this game was a total nightmare. A good point on the fish heal amount; that's something that we should communicate more clearly to our players next time. Thanks again for playing our game!

very addictive, me and my girlfriend played this for way too long

Very cute. I like the progression of the song as you get more upgrades/instruments.

Developer

Thanks! It was our favorite part too!
