Nice twist on tetris!
An interesting spin. Perhaps the stretching powerup does not appear sometimes, I played like the additional block appearing randomly.
As someone said already, the gamepad configuration does not feel like a regular tetris game. I needed some time to get used to. The randomness does not appear to follow the new "bag" algorithm but the classic NES true randomness. That makes the game slightly more difficult.
Don't get sued by the Tetris company!
just like normal Tetris, but stretchier.
What a neat little spin on the tetris formula. It's a nice way to appropriate the jams theme into it. The visual design and music are really trippy as well. Good job!
Nice one! We had been discussing the exact same concept on day 1 but went along with a scalable window game instead! Good job!
Cool! I love the art! As other people says I wish there was a bit more powerups. Hope to see you in GMTK 2025!
Really fun spin on tetris!
Fun twist of Tetris ! GJ!
really fun spin on the tetris concept! on thing i would suggest is to make the controller controls more similar to standard tetris controls, like using a/b to rotate the tetriminos and using the dpad up as a snap to bottom.
First off thanks for playing! Little peek behind the curtain. When setting up the controls I used the control scheme that I set my controls to when I play Tetris 99 on the switch. I have been told by multiple friends that they're not intuitive so we fully planned on allowing players to rebind controls but we were cutting it close on the time limit and sadly it got lost in the long list of 'todos.'
Love the art and music. Plays really well, though I agree I wish the power-ups were more present rather than only after clearing lines. Still had a blast, and once I saw there was an easter egg for getting a 5+ line clear I had to get it. Surprisingly difficult to get everything lined up but it was worth it!
I heard the 'nICE' sound! I found the easter egg! Nice game
NiCe!
I nice remake of tetris using the theme, gg !
Good idea, the powerup were not present enough to really feel like it was an interely different game than tetris. Maybe it could be improved with having the powerup mechanic apply more often to be more of a contraint
When initially coming up with the concept, we thought that the power-ups would be more useful than a hindrance, so we made them a reward for clearing lines. Your idea of using them as a constraint or stage hazard would be really interesting though, and I'd like to see how that changes the overall strategy.
Oh I see, I started playing like I usually do trying to make only tetris clears and the power ups were pretty rare. I've played it again by focusing on small clears and it was way more enjoyable :))
A fun spin on a certified classic. Though I found the powerup to often be more to my detriment. In any case, as a Tetris enthusiast, I appreciate the addition of wall kicks. Cool a e s t h e t i c s too if I do say so myself.
a very fun game, ver y aestheticist great background music, pretty challenging and tbh sometimes it felt unfair when the groth thing spawned on the falling block but it is what it is. my high score was only 2700ish
GOOD
TETRIS
New Tetris mechanics. Worth a try!
So fun! The atmosphere with the music and art is amazing. Perfect game-name as well!
Maybe I've just played too much regular tetris, but I wish the spawn rate of the size-increasers was higher - i just wanted more of them more often!
Great work! Great Implementation!
Tetris, my love...
Excellent music and art.
I love playing tetris.
However the added stretch is hard to predict because I don't see a way to know what it is gonna give.
