Hi I passed the 4 levels of the game and found it very enjoyable. I really like how you mix music and the gameplay. This is also encouraging for people to learn music so really well done. Keep up the nice work
Thank you! Planning on updating it so stay tuned!
Unfortunately I am too late to give a rating, just wanted to jump in and leave the message that it is very cute either way! Love the idea and all the details in the environment!
Thanks for the comment anyways, we love to read these!
Very cool how the platforms play the their note when you jump on them. At first I was putting stairs everywhere but your character can actually jump 2 or more notes up, so it gives you more flexibility in charting your path. I like it!
Ah I love a music game!! And the concept/mechanic is so cool too!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was such a joy to play! Really neat take on theme and perfectly integrated into a fun little music game!
Thank you so much!
What an amazing take on the theme, really well done! It plays well, it's fun, it's bug free, it's cute. Everything just screams polish. Very impressive!!
Thank you!
Oh this was a joy to play! Using the keys to literally make platforms is such a neat way to make you think about exactly what you have to press, actually pressing it and creating a little tune in the process. Up untill I died i did not acutally realise there is no floor, or rather that the floor kills you what with it being the same colour as the floating blocks. I think with more polish and variations of the core loop this would be a really neat game!
Thanks for the feedback! We will take this into account when updating the game :D
The Beat'en Path’s got a charming connection to music that really draws you in, and the art style is just perfect for the vibe. The game strikes a great balance—it’s challenging enough to keep you engaged, but not so difficult that you get stuck.
There’s definitely a rough diamond in this game; with a bit more polish, it could really shine. A simple tutorial to guide players through the first level would be a great addition, helping ease into the gameplay. I think the easiest way would be to show the player what to do (now press 1, now press 2, now press 3, now move over the created notes to the key and save the other note). The way the notes look gives me a "snake" vibes, and I’m totally on board with the idea of musical snakes saving others with their tunes! Overall, it’s a creative and enjoyable game. Great job! For sure going to this year's collection of mine!
Thanks so much!
Very much enjoyed this game! I really liked how atmospheric the background was, and the UI was very cute given the theme of the game! Very unique controls, I could see a lot of depth if there were more puzzle mechanics added.
Thank you!
Really enjoyed this game! Much more complex than it looks, but you managed to make it feel as simple as possible - great job!
Thanks a bunch :D
Really cool game! And very creative! Nice job!
This is one of the best games I've tried for this jam. It seemed pretty simple and straight-forward for the first levels but then I realised I had to think ahead how the level should look and play several notes together at the right time to make it. Level 4 especially felt like learning an instrument. Challenging but very rewarding and satisfying. If expanded, this could make for a really nice full puzzle game. Good job!
Thank you!
cant express how creative and polished this game is. Its the perfect example of having and idea and being really well at executing it. I would've loved more levels for my addicted ahh. Amazing game...!
Thanks so much! We plan on updating the game and adding more levels soon
I've found this challenging but in the best way possible, as if some of my braincells were being connected for the first time while I struggled with it hahah. Amazing design and execution one of the best jam games I've played, I did the 4 levels but would have kept playing if there were more
Thank you!! We are planning on adding more levels in the future, so hopefully some more braincells can connect! :D
i saw another music take on the idea but yrs are pretty intuitive on the controls! i think it would be good to use lesser keys at the start and scale up as we go! great job btw!
Thanks for the feedback! We’re planning on updating the game so we will definitely think about that
Such a unique take on the theme. But it reminded me of why I quit music...
There's a fairly high amount of polish in the jam game. Some feedback though would be that the game play was a little awakened when releasing the other note. like it felt like there was a little bit too much of a pause and made me doubt what I was meant to do.
But other than that you have a very solid game on your hands, would be interested in seeing how this idea could be expanded on and if maybe other musical elements could be added like some rhythm parts.
We plan on updating the game after the jam, so the feedback is much appreciated :D
Such a sick idea! I agree with the others when they say that the jumping is a bit off but if you fix that this would be such a perfect game with more levels! I imagine how cool it would be if you were able to hook up a MIDI keyboard and play as well :D -Kaylee
Really cool game! Wish there was more levels!
Planning on adding more in the near future. Glad you enjoyed!
Super creative and well executed! That last level took me a few tries, there was a lot to think about at once haha. Minor gripes - the jump is a little unreliable, especially on the edges of blocks, and a hotkey to start recording would have been nice - clicking the button and rushing to get my hands in place was a bit stressful, but overall, this was really cool! Really well done!
Wow! This is wonderful! So calm and thought provoking. I love after I've made a bad path going back and thinking about what I can do better and then my brain breaks as I press 2 keys at the same time lol. This is 5/5 in everything for me! Great job!
We are so glad you enjoyed it! We love reading comments like this!!
