My favourite submission so far. Whereas it didnt work perfectly, the character almost always moved the way I expected. Loved how you kept introducing new and clever mechanics all the time, though wish there were some more levels to explore them.
Thank you for playing! Implementing mechanics and levels unfortunately takes time, but we have more planned for the post-jam version.
Really great concept here. However, I felt like it could have been polished a little better. At times it was almost impossible to direct the character exactly where I wanted them to go
I'm honestly not sure how I actually solved the level in the clouds lol.
That being said, loved the design of some of the other levels. You indicated pretty well how high a character can actually jump. The spiders were also a really cool element, and zooming in to not see them was very cool. You were able to teach all of this without too many words and mostly through gameplay which is damn good.
Thank you playing and for the feedback! We thought of putting indicators for the player's "plans", but ultimately forgot to include them when we tried to squeeze in more levels. An example would be showing a thought bubble with the goal over the player's head when the goal is visible on screen.
The player's actions are based on what can be seen in the camera. In some of the levels, the player would jump towards goal, but would go the opposite way if the goal is not visible or if the camera does not show the top of the wall (the player thinks that it cannot jump over the wall).
In the last level, the other platforms are in a different distance from the camera. Panning changes the alignment of the platforms and enables the player to jump on the platform with the goal.
Really interesting game ! I like the interactions between the camera and the player !
Thank you for playing!
very fun puzzle game. I like its art.
Thank you for playing!
Loved the concept & the art style! Nice take on the theme
Thank you for playing!
It's like playing as the cameraman for the platformer. Super cool idea!
That's what we aimed for. Thank you for playing!
Wow, this is really an unexpected find, I really liked the concept of the game and its visual style, I think that the theme of this game jam is fully revealed!
Thank you for playing!
What a great take on the theme. The moment I realized that the player would do different things based on what they see on screen was really awesome!
You should be proud of your entry; I can definitely see this being in the top 100, would not be surprised seeing it in Mark’s video :)
Thank you for playing!
A lovely puzzle game with very nice art style!
Thank you for playing!
Loved it, especially the last level. Very interesting mechanic!
The last level took some time to implement haha. Glad that you liked it. Thank you for playing!
I like it! Art is great, and the idea is amazing. The play of different object depth really blow my mind.
But the jump height & distance seem to be bugged. My character cannot jump through certain gaps and walls. Still a great concept.
(Just saw the below comments about guiding the character, I think this is also cool bug more hint is needed. At least make it less feel like the game is bugged I think.
Thank you for playing and for your feedback! Our voice actor was not available, but we may add voice overs in the post-jam version to guide the actual player.
Cool idea
Thank you for playing!
Nice idea, took a little getting used to, too bad the "wasd" prompt at the beginning of the game is wrong, only arrow keys work, it took me a few deaths to figure it out
The WASD are for the "player". There are supposed to be voice overs for that part, but those did not make it into the game unfortunately. Thank you for playing!
Oooooh, ok, that's a good joke, too bad I didn't get it x)
Amazing concept and more amazing implementation
Thank you for playing!
I really like this!! kind of blew my mind when I figured out how it works. Not to mention the very beautiful art. Probably my favorite concept I've seen so far.
Thank you for playing! Our pixel artist had a big smile from your comment 🙂
Interesting ideas here! And good use of the camera, for more than just AI. I especially liked the persepctive tricks. If expanded, I think I would like more tutorial because the running from spiders wasn't as clear to me
Thank you for playing! We considered having the "player" say things while playing the game to act as a tutorial of sorts. Unfortunately, our voice actor had to sleep early :)
A simple concept executed with considerable flair, I liked it! AI was a bit wonky but what Jam AI isn't.
Thank you for playing and your feedback :)
Very cute game with neat puzzles! The last one blew my mind! I would love to see it in a full game! Good job!
Thank you for playing! There were other ideas that we were not able to implement due to time constraints. We wanted to experiment with camera rotation (affects gravity), depth of field (blurs stuff based on zoom level), split screen (control 2 cameras), etc.
I really like this one. Although some of the puzzle fail-states can look like the game is broken when it isn't. It's a little hard to elaborate without spoiling the solutions.
Thank you for playing and your feedback :)
I really liked this game's concept, it had a nice aesthetic, though simple, was enjoyable. Unfortunately the character got stuck on one level, so I could only make it so far. Would have played more.
Thank you for playing! You can pan the camera to force the player to be out of frame and restart the level. You can also press N if you want to skip a level.
ooo, I'll give it a try. I panned the camera to try restarting, but it got stuck again. But skipping should do it!
It was somewhat me being silly, I suppose, I didn't realize you could guide the character down a different path. I think the game is even cooler, now knowing that, but would love it if it was pointed out more clearly that the character might change paths depending on the camera location. I don't know if you can change the description now before the jam is closed, I'd love it to be clearer, but now that I know it I like it more.
Thank you for the suggestions! We considered having the "player" say things while playing the game to give hints to the actual player. Unfortunately, our voice actor had to sleep early :)
