Really cool game, it reminds me of a game idea that I had once, it's nice to see something close to that in a game jam.

Impressive art style.

I think this game looks and sounds great! The choice of three tones and that pixelated look paired with the audio definitely makes this game feel more horror-esque.

Sadly, that is where my praise ends (for now). It was impossible for me to leave the first two rooms because my camera would randomly jolt in a random rotation. I tried rebooting the game, changing my mouse settings, the kit and kaboodle. I just couldn't get it to work.

However, I seem to be in the minority on this. As such, if there's an easy fix, I'll come back and try this game again and give a lot more nuanced review!

Hey, sorry to hear that the camera wasn't working, I'm not entirely sure what could have caused it. I'll definitely keep this on my radar for when/if I make a post jam version or full release. Thanks for letting me know.

Absolutely stunning entry. Spooky and thrilling!
Couple of small notes:
- Creature is scary, until you can circle it and shoot it dead (I.e you have too much hp)
- Felt like I was running around in circles until I found the right doors, more so after they were unlocked, maybe have some text that still displays for what level you're going to?

But those are nitpicks, I loved the atmosphere and honestly, the doors being unlabeled added to the feeling of being lost on a spaceship with a big scary lurking around.
Good job guys!

The atmosphere is what makes this game so good. Tbh, the monster didn't even had to exist. The anticipation was the scary part. Now that I think about it, monsterles monster horror could be a nice idea to explore.

My comment got nuked for some reason. Still very good

Marvelous atmosphere

In terms of presentation this is very impressive. The artstyle is very peculiar and fits greatly the mood of the game. The work on atmosphere is great as well. On a small note, when you are being chassed by the monster, the flashing can get visually straining with those flashing reds and whites.
In terms of controls, there was an odd thing where the pointer would drift to my right (surely a bug), but also this was made with a QWERTY keyboard in mind. A small detail of course but that sadly worsens my experience since I'm an AZERTY user. Having to use the arrow keys instead of something close to the E button to interact was uncomfortable (so totally a detail, just nice to keep in mind).
As for the gameplay, I'm not sure how I feel about the hunting the monster aspect. Throughout the whole game I always felt more like the hunted than the hunter, which puts in question how the theme Roles Reversed was applied here. The objective here is to find the escape rather than kill the monster, the damage done clearly makes it clear to the player. And once the monster chases us I thought it might have been a bit too punishing that he would never let go. But the visual feedback on the proximity of the monster was a real nice addition, with more time I would have loved to have a more complex audio queue on where it was as well.
But if I'm overall this critical, it's because I feel like the game is already very solid in many other aspects, and I would have wished it could be great all around. For a jam game, this is very good, and I congratulate the team for their work!

Really atmospheric game! When the stomping was nearby I just wanted to hide! Add a mechanic to climb in a box or something and I think you've got a game you could publish!

A super entertaining game with a beautiful artistic style for the genre.

Sweet shaders. Looked really good.

Wooo I'm vibing with this artstyle!

I love the atmosphere and the art style of this game! Just as I was thinking "What do I need so much ammo for?" the monster jumped on me, horrible creature :D

very pretty, tho i dont really see how it's a reversed role... it's not obvious you have to chase the monster in the beggining, and being chased by a monster is pretty standard business

Style is nice but can be a bit hard to see, the sound of the creature going around is cool, good job !!

sick presentation! and the role reversed part is really tense, esp thanks to flashing lights and pounding music. such a high quality entry :)

Vibe and tension of this game is incredible , even more incredible is that it was made in 48 hours - well done!
