Nice job on this! I wish there were a rating category for "mechanics as meaning," for which I would give you five stars, because I love how this is a) very topical and b) expresses the vaccination situation through the game mechanics, i.e. the more vaccinations obtained, the more people can be together, but also the harder it is to avoid the virus. That's brilliant.

I'm really happy reading this because you summarized our exact thought process when we were making the game! Thanks for the comment!

I had a lot of fun playing this game! Each time a germ would hit and I'd lose part of my little herd it was like a pang in my heart haha. The start is a little challenging because I thought I could used my vaxed friends to catch more friends but it could only be me, as my herd grew I could more clearly see the vax bubble we were in. Really nice game!

This game is very good at balancing the size of the player. It's a nice risk (easier to hit) reward (easier to pick up). A nice addition maybe some indicator of off screen virus's and people to help you feel like you aren't just wandering around

Developer

Maybe adding indicators will make the game a little too easy, but it's an idea to think about. Thanks for the feedback!

Cool idea. Good job.

@victor.regis I enjoyed the game, although I have a suggestion what if you increase the no. of enemies in the scene and make it like the more people join together the slow the timer will reduce its just a suggestion by the way good take on the theme :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep the number of enemies in mind, and about the time, i'll give it a try too!

Submitted(+1)

ok but they are not keeping social distance, smh

There's something very amusing about playing a large ball of people like this. Really liked the pixel art, nice job.

Agreed, I felt a nice Katamari Damacy vibe.

ok ok ok you know what they say about games without sound… it’s a game without a voice… < / 3 also i thought the blue people were sick [ like unwell ] so i was avoiding them for ages. I was told to get the vax and then get my friends, but i got like 40 friends then found the vax and i couldn’t tell if it did anything or not. i disagree with surfdaweb’s comment; i think this is a doable game jam idea. amazing pixel art xo

Developer

I don't really get what the point of the comment is but the last part I did, so thanks anyway!

I agree with these observations. The game could use more feedback, for sure. Each vaccination you pick up increases the "Max People" count, so I assume it increases how many people can join you. But you have to be looking closely to even notice that number going up. Something like a "Max People + 10!" that appears above you when you pick up a vaccination could easily address this.

Developer

I see, now I get the point. I'll make sure to make it more visible, thanks for the explaining

Fun! Wish there was a little bit of sound, but otherwise this was surprisingly fun! I also found it kinda easy to avoid the viruses, so maybe you could have something like infected people that you need to avoid or other kinds of diseases? Kinda out of scope for a jam, but could be cool ways to expand this!

Also, get vaxxed y'all!

Developer(+1)

We kind of left sound as the last task but we will add it to a future build with a functional highscore leaderboard as well!

Thanks for the feedback!

With just a bit more time to flesh out the mechanics, this could be a quite a fun game! I enjoyed playing it, and would love to see more! Nice work!

A nice, funny idea! I think it would work well in a 2v2.

Developer(+1)

How would that go? 4 players going around trying to steal other players friends? I think it would be a nice thing to try as well!

Thanks for the feedback!

Sorry, my bad, I meant 1v1.

Fun with the group dynamic. Impressive leaderboard.

Hope you can check out our game!

This was quite funny. I enjoyed playing! Great job at making a simple game that still feels quite rewarding to finish!

Submitted(+1)

The idea of human Katamari is funny enough but this was morbidly comical.  Great job on a simple concept.

Thanks for the feedback!

That was legitimately funny. Kudos to you. 7/10

Very cool gameplay idea!

Submitted(+1)

It's quite amazing how simple the gameplay is compared to how immersive it can be in a very short period of time. I enjoyed it and it's a pleasant quick play. Also the situational topic from coronavirus made it extra amusing. Great job!

Developer

Thanks so much for this review! It's exactly what we aimed for with this project, really glad you liked it!

very literal meaning of the theme. Good job

Submitted(+1)

I simply love it. Idea, presentation, design, mechanics. Looks brilliant.

Submitted(+1)

Nice Idea, a bit repetitive after a while. I didnt get what the bottles are for though.

Developer

The bottles are used to increase the maximum amount of people you can safely carry. If you have more than the maximum amount of people and a virus hits you, you drop all exceding people.

Thanks for the feedback!
