Lol, I love VR Games and I had a very similar idea for this jam so I really loved this game. Extremely fun and funny, great simple visuals and good tight mechanics.

Its well polished and the difficulty feels just right, however i wouldnt mind a bit more time to dogdge the arrows LOL. maybe i just need to practice more.

Great experience overall, im surprised you are not getting more reviews, go for it !!!

Kudos !!!

I hope you have some time to review my game and give honest feedback too.

when it cuts to you collapsing dead in real life because you bumped into a table i can't help but laugh! i was a bit confused how to dodge because it seemed like i moved sluggishly, but i realize that's just how it was animating i think?

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The movement in this version is a bit buggy and can be really sluggish, especially on old computers, so I will fix it when the GameJam lock disappears.

You need to get used to dodging, but when you get the hang of it it's quite simple. I'll add some kind of tutorial to help others in the future

Excellent idea! Presentation is super cool and the concept is very well done! Loved how you made it

Thank you so much!

Very cool and challenging game! Having different death animation when dying on different 'realities' is a good polish. Death by stubbing toes into the furniture feels a little too cruel for me. This is one of the most polished game that I've played in this jam. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm glad someone spotted that the animations are different!

This concept is so unique and original !

Switching between the two worlds feel really smooth and easy !

Thank you!

Love the concept, very relatable as someone who's stubbed their toes in VR.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! That's how I got the idea for the game. I always keep hitting stuff when I play active VR games. Even destroyed a part of my door while I playing blade and sorcery...

Submitted

Ha, destroyed your door? You must have powerful toes.

I had a good laugh when I figured out the game. Very nice idea!

Really enjoyed this game, especially considering I don't play them a lot in my free time. The concept is simple yet entertaining, and the art style is really cute! I liked when character was in his armor, I think you did a great job with that.

I had a little hard time with the controls, sometimes it felt like I didn't pushed the arrow keys hard enough, and because of that the character stood in one place, but maybe it's the high settings like you said.

Overall, fantastic concept and fun gameplay! I would love to play this game again if you decide to continue this project!

Keep up the good work dude!

Really fun and interesting concept with great implementation! Simple, but addictive gameplay, nice art, energising beats)

But who the heck is placing furniture in my room, while i'm not looking?! =D

Developer

Thank you!

Little goblins that work at IKEA keep promoting their furniture. Fast little gremlins can construct a bed in milliseconds!

This is a neat idea!  The concept is entertaining and addicting to play, and the way it is framed as navigating a room in VR gave me a good laugh.  The controls felt tight and the patterns of furniture and arrows seemed fair.  It also has a nice art style, and the contrast between rooms looks really good.  The only criticism I have is that the game is a bit difficult to learn at first due to how fast the arrows fall, so it would be nice to have difficulty options or maybe have the arrows start slow and increase in speed over time.  This idea has a lot of potential, and I would be really curious to see what it would look like if you end up expanding on it the way described on the game's page.  Great work!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! Yea I noticed that everyone had a difficult time grasping the concept or jumping in between arrows, so I should  add a tutorial to the game. I will make sure to update it regularly and adding more content to it!

Makes sense that this was compiled on high settings - I'm running a slightly clunky laptop and everything felt a little off. On the other hand, it looks great!

I had a number of bizarre control issues, which were probably my biggest gripe with the game. Movement felt fairly imprecise and unresponsive, resulting in me crashing into plenty of furniture I really don't think I should have hit. I also encountered a fairly major bug where trying to move quickly by rapidly hitting the movement keys would result in me taking damage in the real world, even if there was nothing around. Perhaps these issues stem from my low-end hardware, but they're issues nonetheless.

My difficulties playing the game aside, this is a delightful project.  The concept is simple but creative, and the visuals sell it really nicely. I especially appreciate the bright fantasy VR colours and the drab 'real world,' as well as IKEA spawning new furniture. The arrow indicators are solid, the balancing act between paying attention to the arrow patterns and knowing where is safe to move is challenging, and it's just a good time.

Great work on this one! A similar idea came up when brainstorming with my jam partner, and in an alternate universe our project looks a lot like this.

Thank you so much! I accidentally left a bug that tied responsiveness to the fps... Oops.. Too bad I cant upload a fixed version haha

This is a really clever and funny concept, and executed nicely. The controls feel great. It is hard, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I had a lot of fun playing, and eventually found a ‘knack’ for surveying the arrows then surveying the room. Nice work.

Thank you so much!
