Really cool puzzles and mechanic!
The sounds were a bit grading, however the puzzle design was interesting, and was always pushing me in the right direction.
Glad you liked the puzzles! We had wondered whether our sounds might be a bit much, so its nice to get some feedback on that. We'll definitely tone them down if we ever rework the game. Thanks for leaving helpful feedback!
Good game! The mechanics are really fun. Maybe let the player link the objects by mouse, instead of "j" and "k". You had some interesting puzzles, that made the game very fun to play.
Glad you like the mechanics! We had a lot of trouble coming up with a control scheme, so we'll definitely consider adding mouse controls as at least another option if we ever rework the game. Thanks for the feedback!
It almost has a portal puzzle kind of feel and it has some really interesting concepts like the duplicating keys after a disconnect. Really fun
Glad you found it fun! We were definitely going for a puzzle feel and the key puzzle was one of our favorites, so its nice to hear those things appreciated. Thanks for the comment!
Really liked this game! Very interesting concept I think it could be done much more! One level became a bit laggy, but thats just minor problem probably easily fixable :D
Interesting puzzle platformer, what can I say more!
We're happy you found it interesting! The lag is something we're hoping to fix after the jam, and we might add some more levels and mechanics if we find the time. Thanks for leaving feedback!
Very nice game, it got a bit laggy for me in level 3, but I love the mechanics of switching things around. Very original, I had a great time playing this one! I see the potential of this game being longer and greater - really good work!
It's great to hear you liked it! We didn't find the source of the lag until after the jam was finished, but we're planning to at least post a version of the game where the lag is fixed after the jam finishes. Thanks for playing!
coooool - this has a lot of potential and your level design is generally great, but I also had a hard time understanding a few things about the mechanic. Letting the player if a game object is "in range" to be linked and which objects can be linked, would have a very useful piece of information. I had to come to the comment section to learn that I can link SPINES and switch them with a box! Once that was clear, the game got real fun, real fast! Great job!
Glad you liked the idea! Somehow highlighting the objects you can link sounds like a good way to teach the linking mechanic, so we'll definitely add something along those lines if we ever rework the game. Thanks for leaving a comment!
Fun concept, but had some trouble playing through the second level. Maybe I missed something?
Nice to hear you liked the concept! On the second level you should be able to link the spikes and box on the lower level by pressing J, which will switch their properties and open a way forward. We were originally planning to add a more thorough tutorial for that area but ran out of time, so it requires a bit of a jump in logic as is. Thanks for playing!
I'll try and give it another go!
Great game! :) but W for jump was pain for me. :DD I was constantly wrong and pressing spacebar, ha ha (sorry for bad English)
Glad you liked it! That's a good point about jumping, we'll probably map it to both space and W for ease of access if we ever expand on the game. Thanks for playing!
I was impressed with the level design in this, and you guys managed to pack a lot of secondary features that complimented the main mechanic. Very well done!
We're glad you liked it! We put a lot of the jam time into level design, so it's nice to hear it appreciated. Thanks for leaving a comment!
Waaah! An easy five stars for originality! Such an interesting mechanic, and exploited in so many different ways, this is really great work! I believe that once polished, this game could make for a really original puzzle-platformer. Really nice job!
I would have liked it if longer levels had more checkpoints, since redoing the first segments of a difficult level several times gets a bit repetitive after a while :-)
Thank you for this game!
Glad to hear you liked the idea! We put a lot of time into developing the mechanic and designing levels, so it's great to hear that our work payed off. We had trouble balancing the difficulty, but having checkpoints sounds like it would be an effective and easy solution. We'll definitely add some type of checkpoint system in if we expand on the game. Thanks for the feedback!
Very fun puzzler! The concept is great and the execution is better!
We're glad to hear our idea turned out well and you enjoyed playing! We appreciate the feedback!
Very fun puzzle game with interesting concept! Somehow it reminds me of "baba is you"
Had fun playing it!
Glad you found it interesting! We definitely took some inspiration from Baba is You, especially in the level design. Thanks for playing and leaving a comment!
Originally at the start, I wanted to avoid puzzle platformers as I thought that it would be the most common and that there would be nothing I can do to make a unique puzzle platformer. Well, you're game definitely proved me wrong. Aside from the main mechanic, there were certain moments in the game that really struck me as genius. Two in particular is when you link a key to a box to get more keys, and the other was when you actually had to avoid collecting keys to go across a bridge of gates, so you use a moving gear to move the key away. All in all, You've made what I thought would be a common and generic genre for this jam into a unique take on a solid mechanic. Well done!
Thanks for the kind words! We were a bit worried about whether the game would come across as unique, so it’s reassuring that you felt that way. The key level was one of our favorites, and we’re glad you liked it. Again, thanks for playing and leaving feedback, we appreciate it!
I had a lot of fun with this work, the level design was really good. I loved the idea. Great game!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!
Overall I like the main mechanic of tying together properties. Maybe a little highlight UI to show an object is currently sellected?
Glad you liked our idea! I hadn't even thought about adding a UI like that, but that's a good idea! I'll definitely implement some type of indicator like that if I ever rework the game. Thanks!
This was fun and unique! The box and key swap didn't make much sense to me, but otherwise I had a blast!
I wonder if you could improve performance by building levels without making each square of floor/wall a separate object. That way there are less objects the computer has to worry about. That's just speculation though, I don't know how you designed the game. Good stuff!
Glad you liked it! I think you're spot on about the performance, because we did have each wall as a separate object. I'll have to make sure and use tilesets for the art next time and just have large floor objects the way you mentioned. Thanks for leaving such helpful feedback!
