Cool and fun idea, and well implemented. Congrats!

Developer

Thanks!

It took a little bit to get the hang of the controls and overall gameplay loop, but once I did it turned out to quite a fun game. Good job!

Developer

I'm glad to hear it! Thanks for playing!

As others have said it took a little while to figure out what everything did but ones you got the hang of it it was great! Loved how you had to manage so many things with only two buttons, made it feel like the gameplay had so much depth!

And I mean with voice acting like this how can you not call it a masterpiece! Great work :D

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you figured it out despite the lack of clear explanation of what's going on. I love that you appreciated the depth of the 2 button mechanic.

Thanks so much!

Submitted(+1)

It took a bit to figure out what was going on but after that it was really fun!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad to hear you had fun! Thanks for the feedback!

It took me a bit to get used to the controls, I think if there was a little progress indication on the hacking of the camera it would make the game easier to read.

I like the art style and really liked the voicing that I was not expecting in a game jam, also the mechanic is very nice once you get used to it! Well done.

Developer

I totally agree about the camera hacking feedback.

I'm glad you appreciated the voice acting and the primary mechanic!

Thanks for playing!

Cool game with some great art! Reminded me a bit of the scene in Mission Impossible, haha, great job for making this in 48 hours!

Developer

Thanks! That's definitely where this trope comes from! :)

Submitted(+1)

Really sweet concept. I love heists and this had just the right frantic feel. If you had time to add a swinging component, that might add some interesting downwell vibes here. Great job!!

Developer

Thanks so much! I like the idea of a horizontal component such as swinging! Thanks for the feedback!

Cool game, but please add web version at future!

Developer

Thanks! Itch doesn't support the features used in my game, so I DID make a web version hosted on GitHub, but I was told to take it down as it is against the rules to link to a game build. :(

Hi BlackOpsBen!

What an excellent and original little arcade game! I love the stylistic choice of bro culture. Reminds me of those bro memes you see floating around occasionally.

It is a nit-picking comment (because this game was so well done) but I didn't find it incredibly obvious when the alert level kicked up. It's great that the bar is red, but a more obvious indicator (perhaps a screen shake) would totally help me realize I screwed up!

Overall excellent execution and good luck in the rest of the jam!

Best,

Brandon from TheIndieDream

Developer

Thanks so much!

Yes, I agree. I did some post-jam updates (not published on the page) including much better feedback of that, including camera shake and sounds.

Thanks so much for the feedback and for playing!

Surprisingly challenging, a very good idea, and looks really good, especially for a jam game!

Developer(+1)

SO glad you appreciated it! Thanks for playing!

This game was one of the more original concepts I've found this jam, and I enjoyed it a lot! I got to level four, and had a lot of fun with figuring out how the different roles of the two guys on the roof could combine to help the decent be as painless and successful as possible. It would be really cool to see more of this, if you consider updating it after the jam. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the encouragement! I love that you appreciated the dynamics of the 3 characters working together. I was really happy with how that part turned out. I have some ideas to extend it further that I might explore.

Submitted(+1)

Lol now this is a fantastic game. So much charm and character! I absolutely loved all the voice acting with it. Cool mechanics too, I like how each member has a different task but of course they need to be diverted away from their primary task in order to help the main guy grab the diamond. I personally think this was brilliant. Music change when grabbing the diamond was cool touch, and so was requiring both to actually lift you up. I did stop at about level 4 since it seems to be the same thing again, I suppose if it wasn't a 48 hour jam it would be nice to have a bit of variety with the different levels. But as a base game this is super great. Very well done!!!

Developer

I'm so glad to hear that! It makes me feel good when certain details I'm especially proud of get noticed and appreciated, such as the music, voices, and the dynamics of the primary mechanic.

Yes, the levels are all the same random generation but +1 module longer per level. Pretty boring and samey. With more time I would have hand made each level to custom tailor the experience. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

I loved the voice lines in this game hahA -- also when the music picks up once you pick the diamond up is a really nice touch. I like how everyone has their own roles and you need to manage everything while trying to not have your boi trip all the lasers underneath. I think if there was one more thing to make everything more chaotic, then the game would be super nice. Loved the style and presentation, great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! I'm so glad you noticed and appreciated the music change! I think you are right that it needs another element to spice up the chaos! Thanks for playing and offering feedback!

I think you've designed a fun and interesting system here. Definitely original.

One thing that works particularly well is that as you fall you get familiar with the layout of the level, so that once you have to come back up (which is much more difficult since you have to keep both the characters on the rooftop activated), you know what's coming.

I also like that, once you're at the bottom, you get a bit of a resting moment while the hacker can bring your security level to 0. I like that the music changes down there too.

I feel it may need 1 more element in the mix for maximum fun. Maybe having to swing the character from side to side for some obsctacles? I'm not sure.

Developer

Thanks! I'm so happy you appreciated the moment of rest at the bottom, and you are the first person to comment on the music change, so I'm glad that was noticed!

I agree. Ooh, I like your idea of swinging. Adds another dimension, literally!

Thanks for playing and offering feedback!

so, when I tried to play the game, the controls were completely unresponsive. I'm not sure why. however, it doesn't look like any of the other comments have this issue so I don't just wanna leave you with that. so bare in mind that all my feedback and ratings come from watching the video you posted on your page.

I like the art style a lot and the sound effects are great and hilarious if a little repetitive at times. gameplay looks fun the idea of having to balance all three roles is very clever. overall looks like a really fun game. wish I could have played it properly. good job!

Developer

Aww dang. Sorry it didn't work.  (Did you try the zip download, or the web version linked in the YouTube video? To be fair, the YouTube video has the post-jam version. Explanation of the changes is in the video's description.)

Thanks! I was really happy with the dichotomy (or trichotomy?) of the 3 characters. I'm glad you could appreciate that from watching. It's a weird but cool shift in game phase when you are trying to go down, vs trying to go up.

Thanks for commenting despite not actually being able to play. :)

This game is awesome. its got comedy, nice art, good fundamentals, and fits the theme, no complaints here. Great game!

Developer

Thanks so much! I'm glad to hear you appreciated the humor!

Fun, challenging and great looking. Congratulations!

Developer

Thank you so much!

Very fun and original concept. Bit hard to figure out initially but then it flows very nicely. If you work on this post-jam I'd def. add some sort of tutorial level or other less hectic way to introduce the mechanics ingame. Then add some more interesting mechanics (ducts to go vertical maybe?) and you got something n.e.a.t.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! I already made a few post-jam updates (not published on the page though, per the rules) including minor improvements on feedback such a camera shake and sfx whenever you touch a laser or enter a camera view. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Awesome, looking forward to trying it out in a few days then :)

Submitted(+1)

This is pretty good. Though their constant voice lines whenever you do something get a bit annoying after a while.

Developer

Thanks! Do you think it was ALL of the voices, or mainly the Guards? (The main characters are designed so they never talk over each other, however the guards are able to always speak no matter who might already be talking.) Most people seem to love having recorded dialog. Sorry it wasn't your cup of tea. Maybe some about of further limiting it so it's not SO constant would be good too.

Submitted(+1)

Might be that recorded dialog isn't really my thing but I think one thing that got said a lot was "I'll take care of the guards.".

I feel like a good solution would be a options slider somewhere from "they never talk" to "they talk all the time".

Submitted(+1)

The gameplay is pretty creative, the bros are all joined together! The clean art, great lighting, and superb voice acting certainly sets the mood for a heist! Challenging yet fun! Good job on a game well done :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm very glad you enjoyed it!
