I liked your music and sound design, but I found the game too difficult to play. The screen shake is so excessive that it makes it really hard to hit enemies, which might actually be your intention, I'm not sure. Also, I kept re spawning with one HP, which makes the game pretty unforgiving.

Feels really good to play!! Would like to see volume sliders as the music is quite loud. Excellent presentation and polish, loving those screen transitions!!

I really enjoyed the art and sound design, but the thing that kinda ruined this for me was the seemingly random one-hit deaths I would constantly experience.

Like nothing would spawn for a while, then suddenly somebody would kamikaze me from off screen and it felt a little cheap. If the player HP was increased a bit, it wouldn't feel so harsh and would give a much better gameplay experience.

I also found that all the upgraded weapons were weaker than the primary weapon? Maybe that was just me though.

My main takeaway is that this game just needed more balancing, other than that, its actually pretty good. It runs smoothly and sounds great (even if the default volume is a bit too high).

Hey! We figured this out and fixed it after the jam ended. I'm going to push a new polished build that has all the new features and balancing.

Good game, fun and very fluid controls.

Cool, really challenging and intense gameplay, with great music too! Nice works!

One thing I would say is that the screen shake is more on the excessive side; it makes it hard to see where the player is. Regardless, the music actually slaps hard and the game feels nice to play, so a massive thumbs up from me.

Agreed with the other commenters: outstanding style and execution, just a bit hard to tell what's going on between the pacing and the unclear powerups. I also had an issue where enemies would sometimes stop spawning and the boss never showed up. It made me wish I was better at this kind of game so I could see more!

The music is awesome and the crunchy graphics definitely add to the fun. I found the movement and shooting mechanics enjoyable and smooth. Enemy bullets were a bit difficult to detect leading to what felt like sudden or unexpected deaths (maybe multiple lives could extend the game a bit, unless this is level of difficulty is intended of course). Overall terrific work, thanks for the game!

The soundtrack slaps fucking hard

Like others have said, the screenshake is a bit excessive, the boss enemy seems to be a bit buggy (can't see his bullets and he was getting trapped in the corner without moving so I couldn't approach him safely), and the one hit to kill is probably too unforgiving. But the execution and presentation are otherwise very solid!

Haha the screenshake might be a bit overkill, but, definitely adds some oomph to the game. A good bit of fun, though it may be a bit too challenging and I'm not sure if the minigun wielding enemy is bugged or not, but, couldn't see any visible projectiles. Overall, good stuff!

Hey I just played your game for a while and had a lot of fun! The soundtrack, graphics, and juice all come together really well to make for a very fun game! I did find it pretty challenging, I could never beat the big grey enemy and I tried for a while! Sometimes I wasn't sure what I died to when facing up against him.

Lots of fun though, great vibes and energy to it, congrats on submitting!

Wow! My brain shaked so hard after I stopped playing, very energetic! well done for the art and music!!

I had some issues with boss? I couldn't see his bullets so just dying with no clue. Also in at least one arena UI covers almost whole top right corner. Apart from that I liked the pace end effects.

Really juicy game :) Maybe a bit toooo much screen-shake, but I liked it a lot :)

Not very original, but man! That's a clean execution. Very nice sound design and pixel art. Gameplay was very fast-paced, but reasonable. Loved the experience.

It was kind of hard to tell what was going on, since the characters were all so small and similar-looking and I seemed to have the same abilities most of the time, aside from occasionally getting some right-click ammo and I think one time my bullet pattern changed. The enemy bullets were also so fast that I could never tell why I died. That said, the screenshake and sound effects felt so good that I enjoyed playing it overall.

Very fast-paced and fun, other than the occasional annoyance cause by enemies suddenly appearing right on top of you, or right out of the wall. Other than that, it was a really nice game (although the way it connected to the theme was somewhat vague)
