I really really love just how over the top this game is, in just a few minutes the player turns from a singular ship to what is essentially a gigantic mech with size and power on par with the boss. Collecting dead enemies or just enemies in general I've seen done quite a few times with other game jam games, but this one is by far the most fun. The controls are easy to pick up and play, the enemies are never too hard but still require some strategy to defeat. Although this game is definitely on the easier side of GMTK game jam games, I wouldn't have it any other way because the game is just SO MUCH FUN!!! The game has the best pacing of any game jam games and pretty much any single player game I've played in recent times. My biggest compliant is that the game wasn't longer, I think it should definitely be expanded with more enemy types, more bosses, and much bigger rooms. But this complaint doesn't affect my rating of the game and leaving the player wanting more is the best reaction you could get from a game jam game. Another tweak I would make would be giving the enemies and the enemies you pick up's bullets' sound effects, their absence feels kind of off. But overall it was a short ride that was some of the most fun I've had playing through games on the GMTK game jam. WELL DONE!!!
There were loads of things I had in mind but ended up getting cut out due to time. As for sound, this is an area which is pretty new to me, so it might take a bit of experimenting to get the feel right. Anyways, glad you loved it! Thanks!
Really stylish and punchy roguelite bullet hell! This fits perfectly with the jam theme and is just an overall great game!
There were some issues I had where I would enter the next room and immediately be hit before I could react, so perhaps a slight delay to enemies or room start time as the player transitions in would be nice. Also, perhaps removing the pickup delay once you clear the room so you don't have to wait around as much. This game could really be a solid release post-jam with more mechanics and polish :) I hope you continue it on!
Good job!
I was planning to add some sort of transition between the rooms but I didn't have much time to get it working well. I'll keep all of these things in mind if I get around to updating this. Really appreciate the feedback. Thanks!
Binding of Isaac with my own heap of trashed robots? Sing me up.
Awesome fun and love the guitar riffs in the back.
Thanks for playing!
This game plays amazingly, everything feels really punchy and responsive! Would love to see more great work!! :)
Thanks! Glad to hear it!
One of the best submissions I've played so far! I got a liitle bit angry when it poped the ending screen. It's really fun to play, a bit scary at the start; but the sense of power multiplies every room! Really really fun, well done!
Haha, yeah the ending screen comes out of nowhere. I kind of wish I spent a bit more time on polishing the boss. Regardless, thanks for playing!
Wow nice! It feels amazing to shoot and kick the enemies around. I had a feeling the game was really fair, I was really happy about the telegraphing that the boss did to announce where and how it strikes and the natural power-up feature by attaching the enemies to you, picking them back up when they fell. Really great game, good job!
Nice to hear! Thanks!
Ahhhhh I love this chaos. Let me be honest, half the time I didn't know what I was doing, but I had a whole lot of fun not knowing.
Yeah, it can get a bit chaotic at times. Thanks, glad you liked it!
Very cool! I love the chaotic battles and "juice" of the screen shake and sound effects. My main gripe is that the boss battle feels a little drawn out. Making it shorter or simply adding a health bar would probably help with that. Other than that though, I love it!
There's a health bar at the bottom right of the screen when fighting the boss. Although now that I think of it, it's probably not that visible since it's white and blends in with the tiles behind it. Regardless, thanks for the feedback!
More people should see this game, I really love the chaotic battles and the art is very nice. Very Good Game =)
Thanks!
This game is epic! Collecting the bodies of enemies to use as shields and weapons is super fun, and especially satisfying because you see how significantly stronger you've become just by looking at yourself. And it's so rewarding to have struggled a little at the beginning, starting off underpowered, only to snowball rooms full of enemies after you build up some armour. Not only is it a cool concept, it's executed super well, the enemy and cover placement is fair, and the AI is simple but effective. And the final boss is frickin' awesome and a good challenge.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
It was so fun accumulating enemies, but the difficulty curve was really weird - the game got easier as it went, with the exception of the boss. I love the concept of a level being about trying to get enough enemies to beat the boss, and this could be taken really far with some more mechanics!
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Amazing. I had so much fun. Everything is put together perfectly. Had to play it 3 times to beat the boss, but by the third time I had an unstoppable army with me XD.
Everything is just top notch. Also the soundtrack is amazing.
All starts 5/5.
Great job.
Yeah, things get a bit easier as you go. Thanks for playing!
Have all the stars! This game is amazing, a very well put together, tight experience. I can't get farther than the four or so rooms but it's so fun. I'll definitely be coming back to this one.
Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!
