INSANE GAME!!!! SO GOOD!!!!!
Thanks man for all the support :) I really like your game too
thanks! i can’t wait to see more of yours !!!!
This looks amazing and also has great dialog.
Thanks man, normally the dialogue in my projects are pretty bad lol. I'm glad people enjoyed it this time :)
Special. Just a standout special entry. Loved it and I'm so glad I got to stream it. Top marks from me.
Tsym, and cheers for streaming my game! I loved watching your reaction :)
Awesome job on this!
Cheers man. I can't believe you went and made a server based game, that's pretty cool. What did you use to host it?
Art style was wonderful! The overall feel was nice and lovecraftian. Really loved the atmosphere of this level :)
Now that I think about it the game is quite lovecraftian haha. Maybe I'll do something with that in the future.... Thanks for playing :)
Great game with a cool story.
Thanks man :)
I thought this was going to be kinda calm and cute, I was so wrong LMAO
The art style is incredible, and I really want to see the backstory! I just managed to finish it, the ending was perfect
Tysm haha, I'm glad you enjoyed it and want to see more. Luckily for you, I might expand on this game more in the future...
What can I say that hasn't already been said. 5/5 absolutely spectacular
Thanks man, I loved your game too :)
What a vibe ! couldn't pass the boss though I'm not sure how to get this last sunflower ahah. Also, I didn't want to kill those little guys but somehow even if I'm not close to them I killed them by pressing space bar ?? I was so sad :'(
Very nice !
Is that what I did as well?
I was speaking to Larry and then blood... also, the game stuck there for me, I could press nothing to move on or restart.
ahah yeah that's what happened to me too, I was covered in blood and I was like "wtf did I do ?" And I couldn't find the little guys anymore :') RIP
Sorry about that guys, I've tried to fix this glitch but have been unable to replicate it with 100% accuracy so I'm not too sure what's causing it. If you wanted to know how to get the final sunflower, it's on the top of the spider guy at the end. You have to hide in the tall grass and wait to pounce on him to try and pluck the flower. Anyway, thanks for playing my game and sorry about the inconvenience
Ohh I thought I had to be on the elevated surface (near the heartmachine) to climb on it, now I understand!
No apologies needed, you managed to tell a story and set an overall vine which is already a lot for a jam I think. Well done !
Alright, back playing it on my windows machine: Fantastic work! Really nice, earie visuals. I’m a big fan of the dynamic lighting in 3D with 2D cutouts. Couldn’t quite get that last step from atop the gaurdian (space bar to pull seemed to not do anything?), but also appreciated the detail of the little graveyard in the corner (or maybe I was supposed to do something with that ha idk).
Also, wild coincidence, you had both lavender and sunflowers in your game. I did not get to the “story” stage in my own entry, but the idea was going to be a tug of war between the “Lavender” people (stay sleepy and ignorance is bliss) and the “Sunflower” rebels (wake up and smell the flowers!)
Cheers man, what are the chances of us both using those flowers! (Also your idea of the flowers representing the two sides by having lavender and sunflowers (sleepy and sunny/awake) sounds really cool!) I actually used the poppies instead of the other two as symbolism in this game. Poppies are associated with death (especially in my country), and the game makes you collect them right after killing the 4 little men.
About the boss, I didn't make it clear enough on how to beat it if I'm being honest. So for when you were pulling, you're supposed to mash the space button to keep tugging at the flower.
Also The Garden is just a little secret that doesn't do anything.
Right?? Also, I clearly need to work on those mashing skills teehee, and nice - I didn’t know about that poppy symbolism, definitely appreciate there being the deeper meaning.
What the f. 5/5
tysm :)
I WANT MOOOOOOORE!!! - GHOSTBIT 5/5
Be careful what you wish for ;)
Really nice! The boss took me minute to figure out, but other than that, very solid. Music was tense and atmospheric, and the overall aesthetic is great. Great work!
Thanks man :) Yeah I should have made it a little more obvious on how to beat the boss.
you fucker, you made me feel happy and calm and then made me feel so bad for doing what i was asked :(. either way great game that made me actually understand the title at the end .-.
haha sorry about that. I wanted to have a twist that forces the player to do something they don't want to. Anyway thanks, and I'm glad you caught onto the meaning of the title :)
I see you like playing with reflections as well :) Excellent game, well polished, big Undertale vibes. You can try exporting for WebGL in future rounds so you don't encounter technical issues with the build
Thanks Man. Yeah I'll definitely be trying to set it up for WebGL next time haha. Lesson learnt.
Good Job!
Cheers :)
Such an awesome story you got going on! The art is also really cute :D Sadly I couldn't finish it because I couldn't find the last soul but nonetheless you did an amazing job
Thank you :) About the soul, it might have been hiding in the tall grass at the back where it’s a bit hard to see it (sorry about 😅). While I’m not saying you have to, I would recommend playing again to reach the climax (you were very close).
Played it again and finished it this time :) The boss took me a while to figure out but once I got it I felt a bit bad pulling on that sunflower lmaoo. This game is definitely up in my tier list in terms of aesthetics. The music is SOOOO good! Amazing stuff, can't wait to see what you make next :D
WOW with the limited time span, this game absolutely rocks.
Thank you sir
I’ll try this again (and rate) once I get to my windows machine, but just wanted to let you know that the mac build is getting me a blanket “The application “GRIM” can’t be opened” (not to be confused with the sandbox/quarantine thing, which I’ve been bypassing to play other OSX build).
Appreciate trying to make the OSX build avail tho, and excited to try this later as the screenshots look quite interesting.
Thank you for letting me know, when I tested the Mac version it ran before… I’ll have a look to see what’s wrong. I’m also just seeing now if I can get it to run in the browser.
If it helps, I’m on an M1 mac, I realize the apple silicon tends to throw a wrench into some things. Browser access certainly would make it accessible!
Oh yeah, I think I need to change a few things for it to run on M1
Ok it should work on M1 no
Super appreciate you giving to update it for me. Sadly, no dice, still getting the below. But don’t fret, as I said I’ll be able to play on my PC when I get to that later this weekend.
Bro I tried to play your game and I got the same message (I'm on Mac without the M1) Bloody Apple, I'll try and find out what's causing this.
I know, why does apple make it so hard, and it’s only getting worse :( I was going to ask if you tried the quarantine terminal command, but I see even my own upload doesn’t work on my own machine when I download it back from itch (whereas the preupload works fine). Let me do some research to see what other hoop we clearly need to run through now, used to be the terminal quarantine command was enough…
Alright, I’ve sorted it out (at least for myself trying to download and play my own game, what a concept).
I had to reexport with this setting enabled:
Then it turns into “You can’t run bcuz maybe malware!” in which case the following command then makes it work:
sudo xattr -rds com.apple.quarantine Escherport.app
So maybe you have an equivalent setting to enable sandbox support?
I've spent a bit trying to find a unity solution but to no success. At least your reuploaded version works for me, it now gives me the option to open after it warns me.
I have found however if you download the itch app, the app will run the games for you so you don't have to deal with the apple gatekeeper. I might put that in the download instructions.
