This could have some cool puzzles in it using the mechanic. There's a movie "Cube 2: Hypercube" that did a lot with odd time mechanics. So far, it was fun just walking around and seeing the sun changing.
I love how thoughtfully everything was placed and really enjoyed exploring what you created on stream. Really well done.
Thanks for playing it there, because my computer has issues with the Godot 4 Vulkan thingies (got the same error trying to run the Godot4 beta). Maybe I should look into it more *eventually* :D
Ooh so it couldn’t run at all? I actually switched to godot 4 because I was running into an issue on my m1 mac with godot 3.5, which was making fine tuned lighting not work well. Sorry you couldn’t play it, curious what’s the actual error message you get? Might be good for me to be aware of it
Hey Patrick! Havemt forgotten about this hehe. It's the Vulkan error that's been popping up:
Nothing about your work, just some driver thing I probably have to take care of
Time seems to move according to the player's position, if you are on the beach, the clock shows 3 o'clock, but if you are in the castle it may be 12 o'clock, and if you are in the market the clock shows 9 o'clock. If you enter the castle from the beach, the castle door is closed indicates that it is already night. I don't know if that's true :)
Yup, that’s spot on! Or said differently, “time increases as you walk around the town clockwise” with the gates closed at midnight.
Beautiful choice there!
Reminds me of the old Myst games
Thanks for the positive feedback and giving it a try!
Really great shapes for the models. Nice idea with a looped, time changing world! Great job
This is really cool!
Okay you got me in this labyrinthic/never ending level ahah. Also got surpised by the time shifting, with the clock moving and all, I can see great puzzles to be done ! Visuals and gamefeel gave me a Sea of Thieves vibe which I really like, well done !
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for giving it a play, and indeed my hands are twiddling together with plans on the puzzle/rpg sequences component of it all.
Really awesome level! I loved the way the clock face turned when you went to the different areas, and the 3d models were super good. the only small thing is that sometimes I could see the models appearing when I entered a new area
Thanks for playing and the positive feedback! And yeah, it’s a real thorn in my side that I didn’t quite get the logic fixed for when to load/deload sections in the most seamless manner.
Really cool level to walk through.
Thanks for giving it a play!
Really cool! The day/night mechanic with the arch and the door made me think of some sort of puzzle element. Nice work!
Appreciate you giving it a play! That’s the idea, a sort of RPG-like sequence/puzzle where you get different outcomes at the end of the day based on what you did or didn’t do (and of course the game never really ends, because you can always walk back in time and do different things/undo your actions).
Beautiful models and world design. The day and night cycle is really cool, and the door closing at night and the clock moving is a nice touch that really brings the whole thing to life.
Really fantastic art style, also love the day and night cycle which I didn't even notice at first! I would love playing an RPG in this environment.
Thank you! Yeah that’s the idea, something a little RPG. I did have a little story in mind that would have required a sequence of visiting certain sections at certain times to trigger changes, but alas time was short. Thanks again for playing!
