I think the game would probably benefit from much lower health with invincibility frames. Interesting way of handling controls of a twinstick shooter on the GB
Dude! That was hard to control the ship! Haha
But was very fun!
My poor little ship got destroyed so quickly. I like to imagine that I'm actually the enemy in this game. That way my ships destruction isn't such a sad thing.
great concept on a bullet hell game! few things i would change to better fit the jam.
I think using one style of bullet would have been fine. Basic circle. I don't think it was necessary to scale the bullets to be bigger or smaller depending on what the object was doing. Just firing the bullets out would have looked fine enough. I think it takes away from the Gameboy aspectness of the game but overall still really well done!
Music had a good start and maybe making it a bit longer would have been nice.
if you use Gamemaker, Turn off Anti Aliasing to make it so your text wont be blurry :) otherwise you might want to look into this for future jams.
Nice bullet hell. I really liked the different phases the enemy had, besides the teleporting one, that felt a bit too random.
But it was a very fair game and didn't felt too hard or too easy, was fun to play! The font and background is a bit weird though. I guess it could have taken some more polish there.
This is a very creative way to cram a twin stick shooter into a Gameboy. Besides the weird choice for key bindings, one thing that could make this more interesting could be that the direction of the ship's rotation could alternate after each button press.
Or have the ship on auto-fire and use both buttons to rotate.
Nice game!
Thank you for the feedback. Added sounds and changed the control to clockwise and anti-clockwise directions with automatic firing, also changed the amount of life.
Short, simple and sweet. I think the next time you could add more sound effects and more visual glare, but overall it's a nice boss fight and while it's a little on the easy side, the bullet patterns are beautiful
Also, it may blend together a bit, but I love the color palette you choose.

Impressive bullet hell!!
I agree on the controls, left and right should be on the same axis, not two separate actions.

I thought it was pretty good, nice visual aesthetic that made it v trippy. Controls were frustrating but challenging. Could amp the difficulty up a bit with less health and maybe add some sound fx to make this game a tad more alive. Good job!

A bit of a mess, honestly. Background and foreground mush together. No onboarding or tutorial or even just context. Also, the GameBoy really didn't have a mouse...
Thank you for the feedback, I changed the controls and sprites.
It's pretty nice, however it's a bit hard to distringuish between your projectiles and the ones shot by the enemy. Also, since this is a GBJam entry, the player shouldn't be allowed to use the mouse, maybe you could have used some D-pad + some kind of auto aiming?
It's also a bit hard to press space to shoot with the same hand used to move, maybe using the mouse button would have been a bit better?
Nice job btw!
