Really cute platformer with 2 really great mechanics, levels are insteresting, really good use of coin trail and other thigs to guite the player and there is always variety on the platforming. But even with this said I had some problems with it:

- The music at the first level it's too bombastic/loud, using instruments that resonate a lot and make it a bit unplesant to listen to (but from that point going forward the music is quite good!)

- Sometimes the collisions can be really strange, making you die because you clipped a bit on a platform with spikes on top using the hook at the bottom or just by jumping into them (this only happens in the last level)

But yeah other than those 2, literally the rest is a very well crafter experience!! Congratulations and very good job ^^

Fun and smooth platforming, but it could fit the theme of 'space' better

Sweet game. I like how responsive and quick the gameplay is. Horizontally it's fun to jump around but having to go upwards was often frustrating. It just didn't feel as cool as gliding through the air.

Artwork/music - absolutely brilliant.

Really enjoyable platforming. Combining the different moves is fun.

Nice game!

This is a cool game! I like the concept :) The music is absolute baller

This is really cool! The addition of the parasol to the platforming was really smooth. There was something just purely enjoyable about gliding across gaps. Love the art style too!

I enjoyed this one for the quick movements across the level and the different ways of traversing the space. Of course the first thing I tried was whether I could walk on the spikes (you cannot).

The palette was extra tasty in its cool mint-blue, and the Stussy S was a real nice touch for the environment/world building of back alleys, parks and school yards.

I was really shocked when I got crushed between two moving platforms (in a pleasant way). It felt like every angle of the physics had been thought out. This game is a challenge from a maker's perspective and I felt like the team rose nicely to the challenge.

I think going forward I'd like to see a simple Mario 1-1 level where the user is shown the controls, and maybe some more checkpoints for the places where you can snakes-and-ladders fall right down the level.

All in all, a very solid entry.

Thanks for the kind words and feedback!

This might be a noob question, but what is 'Stussy S'?  Is it that 'S' symbol that all the cool kids drew in school?

HostSubmitted

Yes, precisely!

Fantastic and impressive game! The main character is cute and the graphics have a lot of charm. The grapple and glide mechanics were really fun to play with!

Really smooth platformer! Has a nice authentic game boy feel to it, mechanics/keybinds felt a little hard to get used to

Submitted(+1)

Fun game, found it quite hard to get used to using the grappling hook, but I liked it alot!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for, playing! Hope you got the swing (haha, get it) of the grappling hook by the end :D

This is a great action game, I had a lot of fun. The gameplay mechanics were great, there was a lot of freedom with the grappling hook and parasol.

So much content for a game made in one week, congratulations! Can't count how many times I got smashed against the wall XD

I didn't end up playing past the first level, but I enjoyed watching you play to the end! and the music after the 1st level is quite good.  I love the mood of the different levels and the simple charm of the game.  Great stuff!

I finished the entire game and ngl it was fine for the most part, as it is a gamejam game I will cut some slack on the bugs.

The camera was moving wayy too much and there was a lack of direction especially in the last section of the game. For the most part I understood where to go but making sure that it is indicated better could help (bigger arrows mid space or something similar).

Also the music was wayy loud and it bothered me at first but quickly became background noise as I turned my volume down to 1%

I do have a complaint about being unable to pull out my umbrella multiple times in a single air time because most of the falls were blind and sometimes I misclicked the umbrella which led to me plummeting to my death multiple times. It might have been a decision made to avoid bugs it subtracted from the gameplay imo.

I love the artstyle and the color palette and the ending was a nice touch on the lack of yellow color on the palette

Overall I enjoyed the game and having played through it and having died a million times did not stop me from enjoying it so well done!

p.s. the death animation is hilarious and it alleviated my mental damage from every death

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, TiredGuy! :D Glad to hear you enjoyed it overall even if there are criticisms.

very cool mechanic idea :D player control feels nice and that was a long game / fun game .

music was a bit annoying for me to hear to , but it was good enough to make this entry stand out from the other

overall , great gameplay , great art and palate choice and great level design

keep it up ;)

Developer

Thanks for playing and the kind words! Congrats on reaching the moon (or at least I think you did)!

It's really good entry! Quite long and interesting. It really nails the gameboy soul. Mechanics are little buggy sometimes and the worst thing - performance. In my Chrome/Windows 10/16GB RAM most of the time game was really laggy. I got nausea after finishing the game.

Thanks for playing and giving some feedback, Pan!

Sorry to hear there were performance issues, but I appreciate you sticking through despite it. I'll send you a voucher for Gravol to tackle that nausea ;)

it has good ideas but the mechanics need to be tweaked. everything is too fast for its own good. camera is distracting and there is a lot of waiting for the clouds to reach.

Graphics are nice! feels gameboyish enough. but the music is not good.

the ideas for this game promise a cute and quiet platformer. but the speed and the music are not helping.

sorry if i was too harsh, but i believe that game jams are the place to get better not to hear shallow compliments.

best wishes!

Hi Mahmood! Your comment has been brought to my attention by some users unrelated to this submission.

While critical feedback is helpful, stating opinions about something being 'not good' without offering ways to improve it or why it's not good is equally as unhelpful as shallow compliments. Please also note that this is a jam and games are going to be unpolished, so acknowledging a good start and providing suggestions for improvement directions after the jam is the vibe we should be going for.

The mod team and I really appreciate all the thorough feedback you've given throughout the jam. Please make sure that feedback is helpful and kind as well as honest!

I'm sorry if i offended anyone. That was definitely not my purpose.

I try to give suggestion to every jammer, but i can't dictate specific things. I just state what bothered me in the game because i like the ideas. If i don't like the game at all i won't even bother talking about it.

But as you said, i try to be more kind toward people!

HostSubmitted

Thanks Mahmood! Have a great jam! :~D
