Nice work. The visuals and puzzles were well done. I liked the challenge. Restarting after each death made it a bit frustrating though. The level design was good, well done

well, i couldn't open the big gate and i kept restarting over and over again 😂, if i were to give an honest feedback you would make it a little bit easier for noobies like me, Overall , Great Job!
The first door opens with the gold key the Locks on the doors is what key it needs. Believe it goes Gold Green Blue then Purple. Gold key wont open the Green key door. The Green key and Purple key are the ones with the saw rooms. Which room was killing you the most? vertical saws or horizontal ones?
plays well, looks good, i found it a little frustrating when you got a couple of keys and then died and had to start all over again, still, that's what made it hard, well put together little game.
Nice puzzles and good accomplishment overall! I just missed a checkpoint system. Maybe, the game could autosave after each door you unlock?
I've got this bug with the jars, though. Couldn't remove that one from this place!
Good game. Looks and feels good. It is very hard though. It can be a little frustrating
Good game. As the previous posters have mentioned I think it really needs some sort of checkpoint system but other than that I think it's a good submission. Well done!
I liked the game. I would recommend setting checkpoints after each key. Otherwise, it becomes very difficult to complete. Also, keep in mind that many puzzles require you to die the first time, since you don't know what you're going to encounter.
It's not often you see a good puzzle based game in a jam. A lot of games use puzzles, but it's not normally their main focus.
I also feel that there needs to be some kind of progress protection system to give you a break from constantly being killed by the same puzzle after solving it (by luck or skill).
For a first jam though this is a really solid entry. I really liked the thought that went into the main menu screen with all of the little easter eggs for the game.
Well done, and thanks for the game.
Thank you for your kind words. Ye I figured I should of kept it in and funny I think the code still exist for it but I can not add it as a new feature now sense only bug fixes are allowed. I well keep it in mind and maybe update it after the jam so if anyone wants to play they can. If I remember correctly though I had an issue where the jars would not respawn themselves with it.
That's cause it reloads the map when you die/goto main menu but when I used the checkpoint system I had in debug mode it only resets your spawn pos. I could just move the checkpoints into main game and only tell the key flags to be reset on main menu now that I think of it. Btw did you notice that you can click on the How to Play paper and the Credits paper ?
Hey man! Great for your first game! In terms of feedback i would suggest adding saving progress after dying, also the game is a bit too hard. Difficulty is what everybody struggles with, you just have to find a balance between fun and impossible, always remember that you are probably gonna be the best at your own game since you are playtesting it a ton! Letting your friends playtest really helps, and since you are working in godot you can build for web in seconds and update off of their feedback while just being on call with your buds
