A fun game that matches the theme well - although I've not managed to get past the second room yet :)

Did you use any existing assets? If so, list them below.
Yes, all sprites / tilesets were free assets on itch. Sfx, text boxes, particles, and mouse cursor were also free itch assets. I have linked the pages where I got all my assets in the description of the game.

Very cute and fun game. I like the art style and the movement and shooting is dialed in really nicely. It provides ample challenge and is addicting to keep playing. I found that my bullets would collide with some of the cracks on the ground, which I'm not sure was intentional or not. Great work!!
WOW really challenging game! I like this mechanic, maybe you can add some kind of level up :)
This is dastardly.....it's difficult to the point that you end saying "....just one more time. I can do this" XD
Well done. A really solid game with good mechanics.
Pretty cool and fun game I didnt make it too far but I can see how it could get addicting to want to keep getting better at. Well done. The visuals are very clean and it looks quite polished for a jam game.
Awesome submission! Plenty of enemy variety and challenge. Great work!
Nice game. Loved the aesthetics, music and sounds. A little bit hard, but not unfair. Reaaly liked it!
Nice idea and a good approach to the theme!
It's really rewarding if you finally clear all enemies in a room :D
Had a blast playing!
Very cool! This reminded me a lot of the little arcade machine mini-game in Stardew Valley where you play as the little cowboy, shooting goblins or something. The little eyeball spawner things really added to the difficulty, but the walls being able to block projectiles also helped!
Great job overall!
Ahhh I'm so bad at this game!!! I know it's entirely my own fault, too! I can almost never get past the skeleton room (well I imagine they're skeletons, anyway, it's the third room) and never past the fourth room. I also get impatient in the spider room and end up losing there a lot of the time. I really, really tried my best!
It's fun though, and I super appreciate the auto-fire! I'd appreciate the dash too, but I keep forgetting to use it.
One thing to note, I think it would be helpful if the enemy projectiles were a different color from the player's and also the cursor, sometimes I mistook my own cursor for a lethal attack. That might also be a 'me' thing.
Thank you for the feedback! That's a great point that I hadn't considered, the cursor certainly does look like a projectile and I see how that can be a potential issue. I'm glad you thought it was fun despite the difficulty though! I'm currently working on a patch to make the beginning of the game a bit more forgiving :) I loved your game as well
This is really fun! The 1hp concept is interesting and makes it very intense, but the soft music/sfx balances it nicely so it never feels too overwhelming. The furthest I made it so far was room 4. I'm curious how many rooms there are in total, the screenshots look intense.
There was something I was colliding with in the 3rd room here that didn't look like I should be.
Minor issue aside I loved the game! I'm gonna play a bit more and see if I can get past room 4. Congrats on your first game jam submission!
A very difficult game indeed. I couldn't make it past the 3rd room after several attempts. I enjoyed the art style and the challenge. I did notice that some of the enemies would get stuck on the obstacles, which made some of them easy to cheese, but something you may want to consider working around in future games. Overall, you did a great job!
