thanks for the detailed review =)   you are right the checkpoint  isn't explained very well  if you consumne the soul in the blazier you will not be able to use it as checkpoint! is one of the choose you have to make "Saving the soul by collecting them" or "Leave the souls there and have a valuable checkpoint"!

i did make my ally die  then  i did run outside under the lower street, and the zombies did pack  themself near me without attacking =)

yeah, i put a lot vfx, if you don't have a good gpu it will give you problems... i think the water is really heavy too

i did recognised these assets, it's from medieval pack of unreal engine marketplace! =)
