Great work for a first time submission! I am a big fan of the misdirection in the into. A little short like my mother but good stuff!

Congrats on your first unity self made project! It was challenging indeed, loved the difficulty buttons thing, as others said I wish there was a way to restart quickly, and the level could've been a little longer, but still had fun trying to beat it. Good job
Love the difficulty intro, lol! I agree with the critiques on WASD controls and rapid restart, but this is a solid submission for your first project, well done!!
Very fun intro with the false difficulty choices. I was going to play on medium!
But I managed in the end. :)
The one thing I would say is that, since it's a game where one hit is a game over, it would be helpful to restart faster. Rather than the opening text, then the button to start, then a countdown; just immediately go to the countdown.
For a first project, under a time crunch no less, this is a great effort! Others have already mentioned, but I will too: the difficulty settings were a very clever trick (I like throwing the odd troll moment in my own stuff too. It gets people smiling). Definitely keep learning things, because you will continue to gain confidence (and satisfaction) as you go =)
Wow I am really impressed that this is your first self-made project! First of the all the difficulty settings choice had me laughing hard that was so clever. The gameplay wow! intense right off the get-go and did not let up I loved the challenge. I would love to know the longest that a player has lasted on this game because it was a real challenge! I also appreciated you used your original visuals as they really were charming.
Wow! Turns out meeting Bob is no joke! Very challenging but in a good way. Excellent work! I read from your bio that you are a teen developer, this is amazing. I couldn't code a simple calculator at your age let alone a full game, you should be very proud!
Awesome job and keep jamming!
Edit: also I had a really funny experience with the main menu. I started out with hard because I like a challenge and then when I got my butt kicked I tried to go back to medium and easy before learning that it was all a trap!
😈 Really funny!
Lol wow was that hard! It took me 4 tries to make it past the first obstacle lol. This is great considering how little time you had, congrats! I did really wish there were WASD controls as the arrows are pretty awkward to use on my laptop.
I would like to know more about Bob. Is it Bob because he bobs? Those moving platforms will get you... memory alone can't get you through that maze since they're not always in the same spot. Uf! I was surprised... my brain really wanted to solve the puzzle enough to restart a few times over. Good work for your intro to Unity.
Funny thing: I've directly clicked on hard, so i didn't notice at first what happens if you click the others, this is why i restart games after playing :D
The collision sometimes felt a bit off, i know that it's accurate but lower refresh screens can suffer from ghosting at such high movement speeds, if you want the collision to be more permissive to say so, you could reduce the collider size between a 2 and a 10% in size (in the collider componen's properties). That way if in example you clip only the very corner, you can still make it through.
Overall, it's nice and fun even if it's a bit hard. I'm used to games where you have to react super fast, and it took me 3 attempts to finish.
One last thing, even if you make a HTML build, always consider the game as a separate thing from the webpage/game description, and try to include the controls and instructions inside the game as well.
Getting experience doing tutorials is super important because that's how you present the game to the public usually, when they get hands-on with it.
Cheers! ;)
If you want, after the voting period ends, I'd encourage you to add music and sound effects to it, and maybe a extra level or two. Congratulations on your first jam submission :D
Thanks for the feedback! I will make sure to incorporate it in my next game jam!
Yeah, sorry about the colliding stuff, I struggled on grasping the colliders and how to adjust them (it was my first time ever using unity) so I was learning new things like tilemaps and colliders and camera manipulation etc at the same time while making my game.
The reason the collision feels off is because is because instead of using actual colliders because I just added a max Y position and a min Y positions so that it couldn’t move past that position. And the reason I did that was because I couldn’t figure out how to have 2 rigidbodys and still have them be able to touch eachother, so I will be learning a lot more this summer and hopefully be able to make games as good as yours!
If you can link me a good tutorial on how to make good collisions that would be appreciated.
Oh man, this was hard! I wasn't able to beat it. I couldn't quite thread the needle on the part when it's open only in the middle, but not at the top or bottom.
But this rocks! This is really great for being your first self-made project! I really liked the fake out with the difficulty levels. I needed that easy mode lol!
Awesome job overall!
