Ok, this game made me eat poop! Story of being a goo in an experiment with the mechanism of growing things + narration is perfect. Reminded me of Portal. Thanks for the experience. Puzzles weren't that hard except for the last one where you needed some thinking :)

Great execution. Only lacking is a proper ending. Currently you can roam around for hours without any goals, which is always a waste of time for the players.

Developer(+1)

I am so glad you enjoyed it enough to feast on feces!

Thank you so much for the playing and the message. Oddly enough I never really thought of the Portal side of things even with my voice so that is a little coincidence there. I did want some simple puzzles but the final one was meant to be harder but I really should have made it more clear that was the end of the game vs just leaving it open ended as you are unfortunately not the first person to say anything about that. This will certainly be resolved in the post jam phase.
Thanks for the input!

Loved what you made! Mechanics - 5/5, Theme - 5/5. A unique adoption of this theme, first time i've seen it. Had a lot of fun whilst playing, even though sometimes waiting for organs to grow and ungrow can become a bit monotone. The mechanics you've implemented, are done quite well. A bit of puzzle , not too challenging, but you can always make it more challenging - for a proof of concept you've done very well.

Also, i have a feeling there's a secret ending that i missed on because i jumped off the wrong side of the table? Can the blob actually "get away"?

Developer

I am so glad that you enjoyed it! I wanted to take a very different approach to this game and I feel like I passed on that! Yeah the grow and ungrow times are fine in the beginning but in the end, it is a bit obnoxious and that is something I will remember in future releases of this game. My main focus was mechanics and playability, I didnt really work on the puzzles until about 12 hours before it was due lol.

And I should have put a few messages around the final room but no, it is just to reward the player for outsmarting the scientists and I should have made that more clear so I do apologies for that inconvenience!

Looks really fun (and funny)! I can't get past the start cuz I only have a trackpad (so I can't leftclick & rightclick at same time) but from everything I've seen it looks very good. Thus I'm not going to rate it but it looks very good!

Developer

I never even thought of that! I am so sorry, in the future, I will enable multiple keybinds to work alongside trackpad. I know it is late and the day before the Jam's rating period ends but I dont have time to fix it tonight but I will fix it after work tomorrow (which will be after the jam).

Really loved the transformations and the narration (with the text on the walls as well). It was funny and made sense why you would have to transform. Bob was a beautiful little creature as well :D

I did end up bugging your game out though, here's the picture of it. Only missing "Fly me to the moon" from playing on the background if this was on purpose (tbf if that would have happened you would have instanty got 5/5 of everything :D)
So yeah on this part where you get the box, the box somehow stuck to me and I tried to get rid of it with pressing everything while I was at the plate it was suppsoed to be left and transformed to every possible combination, but nope, it loved me too much :D
Then I made the crucial mistake and pressed jump and this is what happened. It even took me a lot further in to the abyss, but at one point it just resetted me on the ground, but the box went it's own way and was never found again, so I couldn't continue the level from there :D

Nevertheless it was a very fun game and nice mechanic which for sure could create amazing puzzles with a fun/quirky narration on top of it.

I am glad you liked the game and I so appreciate the bug report!
So I did notice a lot of issues with the Rigidbodies and Colliders in this game and after countless attempts to resolve those issues of flying or launching the player, I just couldnt figure it out. And I couldnt think of a way to phrase this issue for StackExchange or other websites so I really was kinda sunk. I do want to experiment with this movement and controls in the future to prevent the wonkyness but I at least have a great time with it lol!
Also I originally was going to use more of the push boxes and then I noticed that that could cause much worse issues with players being launched just from one so I decided to risk it with only one crate and thankfully, it didnt cause much issue but there is definitely some more to learn in the future!

I really like the transformations that the character goes through, and they are smooth I liked in. This concept has potential to grow if you intend to improve it after the jam :) You could have a puzzle game that required some parts of the body to unravel the mystery

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I may do some work after the jam but I unfortunately have other projects to work on but this was a great project to work on in the middle! But maybe I will return to this concept, I do love it and it is weird which I absolutely love it! Glad you enjoyed it!

Well, I've never met a blob quite like bob! This was a lot of fun. I liked the morphing with different body parts. Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much!

This is weird in a great way. I can't think of a game like this. I didn't realize until now that I need to use the mouth to eat the chocolates. Sorry, I don't have a lot of time to play. Good sense of humor. You have some animation bugs but I think that is part of the humor.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! Yeah there are some wierd animation bugs like the feet are flat and regular in unity but offset in the web format. But I did want the goofy animations to be like that as it was supposed to be that creatures first time walking. Glad you enjoyed!

Submitted(+1)

This is great! A unique take on the theme. I love the voice acting. At first, I was like why is there so much fog? But then I was pleasantly surprised with the mechanics you put in. But that mouth is the stuff from nightmares though xD My only complaint is that the eating sound effect never stopped once it started.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!  Yeah I tried to make some elements such as the Eye and Mouth a bit more monstrous/nightmarish and have the human arms and legs just be oddly specific. I loved how it turned out and I am glad you enjoyed it! I didnt notice the eating sounds repeat so that is something I will check for in the next patch! Thanks for the play!

Bob! what a charming little guy. I did run around the giant Lab for 10 minutes straight in the end expecting to find a way to break out... if there was, then I didn't see it, though I feel I searched quite thoroughly (and patiently...).
whatever the case, I had a lot of fun. the voice acting was top notch!

Developer

I am so glad you liked it! Yeah I didnt make any ways to escape, honestly I made that room as last minute as possible as I wanted somewhere for the player to go if they manage to break out and also so they dont fall through the void. Glad you liked it and glad you liked the voice acting!

Hahaha! Your game's character design and animations are awesome! They really make your game stand out from the others. I had a blast playing and messing around with it. Great job!
By the way, if you don't mind, I'd love it if you could give my game a try too. I'd really appreciate it!

I liked the concept. The character looks really nice and it was interesting to see how it evolves. Good effort, well done.

Developer

Thank you! I had a lot of fun messing with the designs of the body, and the mutation/evolution parts. It was definitely challenging but so rewarding!

I Loved it very fun the character is cute and the foot made me laugh so hard
I also like the main menu design Very good !

Developer(+1)

thank you so much! I had a blast making the feet work and move well and it turned out so goofy like and I love that!

Love the sketches, were they hand-drawn, nice work.

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah they were hand drawn by my friend Caffeine_Ted and they were done on a drawing tablet. He got bored one night and just did them for me and I loved how they turned out!

I got a bit lost and confused in the maize and ending up blobbing around in circles for a while. Did find the entrance to the second room eventually.
Liked the only having a couple of appendages at a time but more need to happen sooner as I lost interest quite quickly.
Certainly has potential

Developer

You do have a good point there, I tried to make the maze simple but I feel like I made it a touch to complicated and confusing, so maybe adding some indicator on where to go or even just shortening the maze by a few tiles would help. Thanks for the play!

I really like your interpretation of the theme! Burst out laughing when i first heard the footsteps haha.

Nice little game, would be interesting to see what it could be if you kept developing post-jam :)

Developer

I am so glad! I knew that my interpretation was definitely going to be different and I am glad that you like that! I am also glad you liked the Foot steps! I spent so long making sure that was good and just odd to listen and watch and I think it worked perfectly! Thanks for the play!
