Great mechanics!!  Beautiful game!  Congratulations!

Developer

Thank you very much! :D

This was really well done with great mechanics and puzzles. Something I think would help would be to add a glowing/outline to areas of interest as there were a few times I lost the tiny gap in the wall lol. You did a really good job on this!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! I think in general I should have made the levels a bit smaller and the gaps a bit larger, but a glowing outline like you suggest could help as well. Maybe some sort of pick up in each level which reveals areas which can be squeezed through. :)

Submitted(+1)

I think the level size was quite nice I’m not a fan of small rooms that make you feel claustrophobic in games (or in life) I like the idea of a pickup or even like a particle effect you touch that will fly over to an area of interested, another solution would be putting bright lights in the next room that way the light from the next room shows the gap. I enjoyed it how it was though.

Developer(+1)

I also don't like claustrophobic conditions in games, despite having made a game all about squeezing through small areas! 😅 I think I erred a bit too much on the scale of the environment compared to the player, but I'd have to look at each section of each level to see where things could be improved.

I did try to put bright lights near to the first unmarked gap in the tutorial level but I couldn't get it to show up clearly and kind of gave up on that approach as a result. If I understood lighting in unity better I think it would have been a great approach.

great puzzle game and chase mechanics. love those sound effect. Also hearts as a secrets was such a nice touch, great reward for exploring. Great job!

Developer

Thank you very much! :D

I hoped the guardians won't see me if I will become flat 2d on floor

Developer

Going flat does help to hide from them, but not completely. It's another area of the game I should work on so thank you for noting it. :)

When I passed first level as intended it worked. Great game

Submitted(+1)

Very cool mechanics and story!

The levels feel a bit empty but of course for a game jam game that is kind of obvious, I would love to play an improved version of this game, loved it! :)

And the decoration of the walls... awesome!!! XD

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! And going the extra mile to download it, I really appreciate that! :)

I think I ended up making everything in the game twice as large as I should have, so there's a lot of wasted space in the levels.

Submitted(+1)

Really cool idea, I think the  life in 2d theme was well done with the princess' abilities. I enjoyed it and I thought the pace was very good, loved the "artwork" on the walls ... fun!

Developer

Thank you for playing, I'm glad you found it fun! I laughed to myself way too much making those paintings. :D

Submitted(+1)

Good Game, cool idea but i sure you need pulish more it, good job

Developer

Thank you! :) Sadly I ran out of time before I could polish up a lot of things. I should probably have scaled things back and focused on a shorter game that works better. (But if I had more time I would have made a fifth level instead... And an intro cutscene..!)

(+1)

Absolutely brilliant idea! Love your interpretation for this theme. A lot of fun can be had, however it is too slow paced.

Developer

Thank you for playing! By slow paced do you mean things like the movement speed or how often there was something interesting to do? Or how long it took to find a way forward? Or something else? Please let me know, I'd love to learn how to improve things! :)

(+1)

I think it would be the lack of hints, or at least me not getting them, to progress and how often there were interesting things to do. I realise that this was done during a game jam, so i didn't really mark proportional to my reviews, i'm a bit more encouraging with the marks. Also, I jsut realised there's this fun shooter, where you can turn 2D. I can't find it anymore, it's in the asian market.

Cool Idea! could be really good as a full fledged game. Only thing bugging me a little is the camera. Keep up the good work :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Next time I'm going to make sure I have my camera issues sorted out before I move on to other areas of the game. :D

Submitted(+1)

Wow what a cool concept! This could really go a long distance if fully fleshed out!

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad you like the idea! I've since thought of a few neat ideas I could have and should have done, so there's a chance to bring more dimension to the princess after the voting ends. :)

Great concept of the Life in 2 Dimensions and well done for sticking to the theme!

I enjoyed the stats screen at the end of the levels. Gave me an opportunity to beat my previous times.

I had a couple of times where I got stuck, but I eventually found the holes in the walls ><

Nice submission!

Developer

Thank you for playing and persevering to the end!! Next time I'll try to use a leaderboard so people can see how other players did compared to their own times.

Submitted(+1)

Very cool concept and great adherence to the game jam theme. I got a bit stuck on the first level. It was a bit unclear where to go.

Developer

Thank you for playing and for your feedback! I need to work on guiding the player a bit more in the future. :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! Loved the mechanic to become a 2D sheet :D sometimes it's a little hard to understand where to go, but I got it. Nice done! Good game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I tried to use lights to direct the player at infiltration points, but I couldn't quite get them to be obvious enough. To shine a light through a gap in the wall I had to either put the torch right in front of it or increase its intensity to the power of the sun.

Submitted(+1)

Very fun and cool game!

I approve of the mechanics of switching between 2d and 3d (like our game) 5 stars!!!

Developer

Thank you! I'll be sure to take a look at your game as well!

Submitted(+1)

Very cool design was pleasantly surprised.  besides the janky camera this is great!

Developer

Thank you thank you! The one plus of the janky camera is that everything else is good by comparison. 🙃

Submitted(+1)

Is the first level - end of the game?  I eventually go through the grid (before label go through it to go to the next level) when tried to change my dimension. Was it a bug?

Developer

There are four levels total (I wanted to make five and ran out of time...) so you may have encountered a bug of some sort. :(

Submitted(+1)

I really liked. I am going to try it again

Submitted(+1)

The game is really fun! I had to stop after finishing the first level due to me getting a bit nauseous (it's a me thing) but I still enjoyed this game!

Developer

Thank you for playing what you could! I'm sorry it had that effect on you, I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway! :)

Submitted(+1)

Really fun concept, would love to see it expanded on, and possibly even seen in other styles of games. Camera is a little jerky when expanding once shrinking but that was my only minor issue with what i've seen.

Developer

Thank you for playing and commenting! :D

I really do apologize for the camera, it's not obvious from the results but I tried a lot of things to make it behave. It goes to show I still have a lot to learn. :)

Submitted(+1)

Don't apologise, I'd have struggled like hell to make a camera function as yours did given the mechanics, but if that was polished to iron out the remaining bugs There'd be no issues to have at all

Submitted(+1)

nice game, not sure if you were using cinemachine or not, but theres a camara collider thing you can add on so it doesnt clip through walls. there was a part on the second level where this was super apparent. go the right route, then take character to back wall, then rotate camera, and camera is in the next room. other then that the game was interesting to play and fun.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your comment over here as well! I used a camera collider at some times and not others to try and avoid terrible clipping issues. Keeping it active when running between two walls or beneath a door was even worse, but as you saw it still wasn't a super success!

Submitted(+1)

yeah i learned about this myself from a game jam comment. so i figure i would pass on the knowledge. :D

Developer

I appreciate it! :D
