The art in this was awesome! Definitely what I would expect from a world made of bread... it left me feeling pretty thirsty though haha
I love how you can just walk out to exit the game, so cool!
I absolutely loved the interactive menu from the very start of the game. Very engaging and beautiful. The combat system seemed a bit unfair, since every time I hit an enemy, I also got damaged and I could hardly dodge that. Bread job out there! (Ghio)
Very comfy vibes from this one, the art and music fit together perfectly and the theme of a bread world is a unique one! I love the kitchen menu with the furnace start zone and exit door zone.
Super creative game, like I saw someone post I would love to see you make a zelda type game, the art for this just felt so cozy and nostalgic. If you want to watch a playthrough I posted a video on youtube gamesession 3 timestamp 7:54 https://www.youtube.com/@constantanxiety7182/videos
I really liked the theme - it made me hungry: going to go eat some bread now! But seriously, very nice art style that fits the theme. The music was very catching and now I am humming it. Couple of things I noticed - it seemed hard to kill enemies and was difficult to know if I was doing damage. I think making your own character and enemies flash when hit would be a nice touch to know when you are being hit along with hit sound effects - similar to classic Legend of Zelda. You probably have these things planned but just ran out of time like the rest of us, but overall think this game has some legs.
I'm a sucker for some nice aesthetics, and "Bread World" brought the aesthetics and turned it up to 11, hahaha! I loved the fun and cute visuals/animations and the nice music - it really brought the world together. The combat was a little "off," as in, I feel that it would be nicer if our baguette had a little bit more range in fending off the dough monsters, but regardless, I think you two did a great job, especially for a 10-day creation! ^^
Doesn't work in the Itch app as the Install drop down is blank, but I think there is a simple fix as I ran into the same issue before. On your game page under "Edit Game" in the "Uploads" section. Check the boxes under your existing uploads for the systems that the app supports (probably just Windows) and then resave your page. No need to re-upload. After about 10 minutes or so, the Install location should be available for the platforms supported within the app. Doesn't seem to require a specific folder layout in the zip as for me (though using Unreal) I have a nested folder and then the main executable is in there, and Itch finds it just fine. You would think for Windows at least it could determine this automatically, but it can't.

I think you have a good foundation for a game. it looks good nice pixel art. The only thing I would say is that you should make the attack be one square out from you. Like a red "bang" or "pow" in front of the character. This way I would feel like I know where I need to stand to do damage. I felt like I would just have to run into the enemy and spam button. I want to be able to time my attacks and know exactly where they are landing. This would make the combat feel more like I was in control and not just run up hug and attack. I also think the same kind of graphic would help the enemies so we can know where they are attacking. This is really solid base! Great Job.
Was promised a bread world and I got a bread world. Love the visuals of this game! Nice work!
Went looking for garlic bread, did not find :( Nice gob on the game :)
I loved the aesthetics. The music is great and the art is pure eye candy (or bread?). Perhaps the combat could use some improvement, like making the hit animation look you are hitting in front of you rather than to the side.
Anyway, great work!
I liked the art on this one and the premise of the story. I couldnt really get the hang of the combat and died a bunch of times lol
Love the creativity here! The art in the world turned out great. Very creative start scene with the exit and start game options both being interactable. I would have liked to have more of an indication of how far my attack range was. Otherwise, this was a really cool project, way to go!
