Very unique style with the hand drawings - amazing work creating it.

Great job on the different layers for the background creating depth to the scene.

Amazing work creating a game with a touching emotional story!

Very touching story of loyalty ,  the art is hand drawn and with good  parallax effect, the puzzles assist in the narration,  the music is appropriate for the narrative . This is awesome ! congratulations! Keep it up!

Loved the story, the music, the art. Not much else to say.

Sweet story.
Beutifully drawn to.
Well done team! :)

Did a little cry at the reveal.
Very literally hand drawn! Incredible.
My only quibble would be the arrow at the end of the dialogue - it would be better if that stayed in the same place

Congrats on completing the jam! I was tensing up for a straight shot to the feels but it was a feelgood instead!

A couple suggestions:

  • when you set up your Canvas in unity, you might want to check out the option that lets you scale with screen size based on a reference resolution - I noticed some of your art in various scenes didn't resize to match for a larger monitor.
  • The button to advance dialogue also jumped around a bit - it'd be awesome if that stayed in one place, or to let any key press advance the dialogue to the next step.

I love this, this hurt my heart, and it also soothed it.
I love the little photo puzzles, it pulls on my heart gosh......
I love the art, i love the sound, the pacing is just right. Congrats! You made a feels game. ^w^

Thank you for playing and the amazing feedback. We really wanted to create a game that had a story at the heart of it and are so proud of our talented team.

Submitted(+1)

Def a talented team! It was a really polished visual novel game ^w^. I wonder if there could be chapters of fetchin sticks ;) , each with a different story and main character per chapter.

Submitted(+1)

That's.. Wow. That really hits you! The artwork is beautiful, the story very relatable. It really takes you on the journey that is the story of the game, you get pulled in.

I was surprised it ended as soon as it did and I thought the little puzzles were quite easy - but I understand full well that, that is not the main purpose of the game.

What I really missed was sound/music. I see the comment below me stating that the music was really nice so I must be silly, but there was no sound for me. The options menu also appeared empty (I did look for sound!), even unplugged my headphones and all.. Not sure what's up :D

Thanks for your submission and inspiration as to what a game can also look like!

Developer

aw thanks, glad you enjoyed the experience, the music you missed was created by the talented James and is available for you to listen to here. He made more music then we were able to put in and was lovely to work with. https://soundcloud.com/user-206721533?ref=clipboard&p=a&c=1&utm_campaign=social_...
