great use of the visual theme, and cool idea overall, hard to control tho

Developer

Yeah, it was supposed to give that "I have to tell someone where to go" vibe, which made it harder... but there a currently a lot ways to cheese it (which I won't spoil). Thanks for playing

Submitted

Very interesting, really like the idea of having to control a character through the cameras! Cool dialogue implementation too!

Developer

Glad you liked it. Dialogic was a great help for that.

Submitted

Cool game, nice animations and writing. nice voice line sound effects as well.

Developer

thank you for playing :)

Submitted

Cool game, not much into my expectations, but I enjoyed time spent on it.

Developer(+1)

I hope it was a good surprise :) thanks for playing.

Submitted

It's very well fitting for the theme!

I think it has good potential to be expanded upon with different actions Tom can do. Also very complex levels can be created as well if you develop this game more.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, we are still thinking which actions it could be. You wouldn't want to damage the exhibits, would you? ;)

We are planning an alerting mechanic if Tom makes too much noise, that it would lure the mummies. I couldn't implement a 3d navigation system in time. I'll look into it after voting ends

Submitted

This is fun.   Mechanics are really good.  Ability to restart at the same level is a good touch.

Developer

That was the checkpoint-treat ;) I think it should even save if you had already "boxed" one of the mummies. Thanks for playing :)

Submitted

its very fun.

how well does dialogic work?

Developer

Thank you :)
I think Dialogic is pretty good, but I didn't get too deep yet. Setup is fast, so nice for gamejams. Writing dialogue and editing styles has an intuitive UI, my partner who isn't a programmer could do most of the stuff without help, even the little face variations.

Submitted(+1)

cool. i will check it out

ok, i actually really liked this game, it's a cool puzzle game with a unique mechanic. Sometimes the movement feels a bit unusual, but if I played more and got more used to it, it'd be perfect. After just a couple of minutes, I was more used to it.

I think the fact that you did voice acting for the game is amazing. It really made the game more immersive, and the fact that each level is on a different screen is very unique and cool. I loved that idea.

The level design is quite good. The levels are well-built and thought out. I love the idea that you implemented multiple different camera angles.

have you considered adding different types of creatures to do something to? for example, skeletons that you would have to do something slightly different compared to the mummies? could be interesting!

I would love to play more of this if you continue to work on it. Great work on the game :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your comprehensive feedback, it is appreciated :) As soon as I read "skeletons" my first thought was "TREX" xD but maybe that's a bit too big for Tom to push around :p and it wouldn't fit the mu(mmy)seum...

I think other types would need another interesting way to handle them, but maybe we come up with something. After the jam we will probably finish the third level and build the planned outro-sequence. Actually we planned that mummies would be alerted if Tom runs into an obstacle too often, but time time time... That would give more opportunities for interesting level design. Lets see if I can overcome my laziness  xD

Submitted

haha yea t Rex crossed my mind too. Instead of push around  maybe it could be a baby t Rex (or another dinosaur) and Tom could lure it to a box or something with a bone?

yea for sure. That's already good for after jam polish :)

the alerting thing sounds like a good idea! But yeah time makes it impossible to implement everything you want. Good luck with further development!

Developer(+1)

thank you :)

Cool story, funny dialogue...that guy is way too brave :D I like the visuals as well. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, he is. It's family friendly ;p Glad you liked it <3

Submitted

Really cool idea and story, and on point with the theme as well! Has great potential to be expanded into something bigger for sure :)

Developer

We had some ideas we wanted to implement but we ran out of time. We will finish these after rating ends. Glad you liked it <3

Submitted

OMG, you made my dreams come true. At first i had something similiar in mind. Glad to see this in action. It turned out great. Can't wait to play  more levels.

Developer

Aww, that's so nice to read, thank you :) There will probably be at least the third level after the rating period ends.

Submitted

Great idea implementation for the suggested theme!

Developer(+1)

Thank you :)

Submitted

Awesome idea! I really liked the unique implementation with the security cameras. The dialogue that appears while giving instructions to the character was a nice touch too.

Developer

Thank you :) I saw a video on viewports shortly before the jam and as the tv theme was revealed I knew I had to try it. I had a bit of difficulties with the small comments that were supposed to appear above the heads of the characters, but was distorted by the reduced resolution. Glad you liked it

Submitted

i really liked the idea btw its crazy to see what people can come up with !

Developer

thank you :)

Submitted

Wow, the idea behind this game is very unique, and it fits the theme so well! In the second level the guy is facing the wrong way though. So I did not try to complete it because it was so disorienting for me. Go job, I really enjoyed this entry

Developer

Glad you liked it... dang it, I thought I fixed that bug :( Did you die before the bug or was it right at the start of the level? I can understand that this would be too disorienting...

Submitted

It was at the start of the level.

Developer

We found the bug, somehow if you die in the first level and look in the wrong direction, it will reset the second level even if is not active yet. It will be an easy fix. You can just die in the second level if it happens as workaround in the meantime. This will reset the orientation to default.

Submitted

Intro sequence was very clean, great work on the whole dialogue systems and the little facial animations!

Developer

Thank you. Dialogic did most of the heavy lifting for the dialogue system, but dieDaly gave them a nice touch with the facial animations

Submitted

Great work! Interesting mechanics, nice work on the theme!

Developer

Thank you :)

Submitted

Great use of the TV theme! Pretty unique game. I managed to capture 2 of the mummies but didn't get the 3rd. 💀

Developer

Yeah, the collision checks are still a bit wonky 🙈

Thank you for playing

Submitted

cool! the sound was a bit jerky though, not sure why

Developer (1 edit)

We had that on mobile too, maybe a threading problem in browsers? We did the sound the last 3 hours before the deadline so we didn't have time to debug...

 Thank you for playing!

Submitted

10/10 in terms of Theme - really liked your idea of how to use the tv. Well done!

Developer

Thank you :)
